The overall trip was excellent. Being so close to the park and restaurants was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The temple spa toiletries were a lovely touch. Breakfast was delicious. The only things I would improve were my view and mirror position.
I have previously stayed in a room over looking the park and it was brilliant as we could see the animals. This time we paid for a balcony overlooking the park and were placed overlooking the bins and restaurant’s outdoor chairs so it wasn’t worth the extra money. It was also awkward trying to get ready using the mirror down the side of the bed. It is placed right in the corner. A mirror on or above the desk would be so much easier.
We were disappointed with the view but overall a great stay.

Brilliant stay at the HEX.
Perfect location for the wild life park, onsite just 1 min from the entrance.
Car park was a 2-3 min walk too.
Really convenient for the restaurant, bar, cafe and shops.
So much to do. Really new resort and really well thought out. Everything seemed so clean and new.
We went with friends and it was so practical for meeting up after freshening up between park and evening.
Great food at the immersive restaurant.
Very good cocktails also!
Try and you’ll like. Bar staff very friendly and asked for feedback on their cocktails. Felt they have pride in their work and their creative special cocktails.
Overall excellent stay and highly recommended.
Will be going back in the summer as this was an end October trip and the summer should make it even better.

Happy so far.

Second stay here and we will be back again (but without breakfast!) lol… i only give 4 stars as both times we have stayed the cooked breakfast has been stone cold. We weren't late down 8am (served 7-10.30) The first time we chalked it up to how busy it was but this time it wasnt and it was still stone cold. And dont use the vending machine it charged me for 2 extra items i didn't have 🙈 (joys of technology) but I cant fault the lovely staff, the room, cleanliness of the hotel or anything else at all its perfect and we will definitely be back a third time before the year ends :)

Great for a family break.

I wasn’t informed of a door to the next room and the other people had been very noisy. Refused to move my room so I had to find a different hotel and I wasn’t given any sort of refund. Very bad customer service

We both really enjoyed this stay. Thank you.

Excellent facilities

Easy check in and check out. Clean, modern property with good breakfast. Nice views and surrounded by the wildlife park.

A superb weekend stay. The hotel is perfect it is clean, smart and the staff are very attentive.
The breakfast was very good with lots of choice and being a buffet there was no excuse not to have enough of everything.
Obviously being next to the Yorkshire Wild Life Park means it’s a bit isolated but that is expected.
The one slightly negative is the parkside view. Yes it is a parkside view rather than looking at the car park but don’t expect to see very much in terms of animals.

We stayed at the hotel due to going to JLS concert. It was very well organised and the hotel and grounds were amazing
4.7
The beds were extremely comfortable. Room was very clean. Aircon in rooms, lovely views from windows. There are small toiletries in the room. Perfect for a overnight stay at the zoo!
4.7
The hotel and area was good, but I would have liked to be able to open the window for some fresh air, but they did not open, air con unit instead.
4.7
Quiet , Clean and Comfy equally good and in any order you like.

Everything was clean and tidy . The Staff very helpful and friendly at all times . With our Thanks. The convenience of being right next to the park itself was great .
The only fly in the ointment , was the price of the food , quite expensive really £ 20 for fish and chips ??.
All in all would thoroughly recommend though.

Great place for young families

The staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble, very informative as well. Room spacious and clean and very comfortable bed loved the clever designs in the room and facilities available for eg: ice bucket, fridge, bean bag and the hidden hairdryer and mirror very neat. The bistro restaurant staff also very friendly and helpful lovely safari lodge feel to the bistro loved the different dining tables and chairs and lighting. Menu small but enough choices for all dietary needs and portions very generous the breakfast buffet very good and plenty of choice. Our only regret was we arrived too late to go around the park due to horrendous traffic on journey and would love to have seen a special evening stroll/ guided tour for hotel guests only. Fabulous destination for couples and families we will return for sure so we can see the wildlife park animals .

My family and I had an amazingly awesome experience at Hex. The Wildlife Safari was amazing.

Very clean and cosy hotel, spacious room with comfortable bed.

Lovely place to stay. We didn't go to the wildlife park but the grounds were very nice with plenty to do. Only improvements would be the food as we ate at the Evolution restaurant and bistro in the morning, and neither were bad but they weren't brilliant either. At the bistro, we were served food but had to ask where our coffees were as they'd forgotten about them. This was sorted though and we sat in the beautiful outdoor area. The coffee was better than the food. Our accessible room was gorgeous and roomy however the bed was very uncomfortable which let it down. If you like a firm bed you will be fine. Loved the wet room and provided toiletries though. We will stay again and go to the wildlife park next time!

Really enjoyed our stay in a family room with balcony overlooking the maned wolves.
It’s a great view of the wolves from 146, although also overlooked the building site next to it, it didn’t detract from the view of the animals. Sit into the evening and you can hear the animal calls from a range of animals. Just lovely.
Rooms are large and spacious. Clean and minimal.
There’s a kitchenette by the lifts where you can get ice, water, microwave and vending machine with pot noodles etc.
The area is lovely with boutique shops, cafes and 2 restaurants.
Check in is in a separate small building and there is a short walk from the car park to factor in if you have difficulty walking.
Would stay again and recommend to those who want an affordable English safari style experience.

What an unusual but lovely place to stay. The checkin was effortless and the staff were very friendly. We were given an unexpected surprise as we were given an upgrade which was brilliant as we hosted our colleagues to watch the England Euro 24 match.
The room was beautiful, comfortable and had great amenities.

Another fantastic stay at YWP with balcony fantastic view stay out for evening drink and first early looking over the quiet park. The bed super comfortable fanatic room and amazing decor, free parking also a bonus. We had the breakfast in morning good quality and great customer service from the restaurant and reception can wait for our next stay

Great interesting comfy place to stay. Very friendly staf!

Hex was a lovely hotel in a really different setting. I had a room over looking the safari park and it was really wonderful to look out over that during the evening and morning. Bed was really comfortable and the shower hot.
My only negative was that they had small plastic bottles of shower gel, hair shampoo etc., rather than one that they can fill to save all those little bottles. I always take my own bars in tins so didn't have to use them but I honestly thought that all hotels had moved away from single use.
The restaurant was OK. The bar staff were friendly and I was just sorry that I had to ask about my food after nearly an hour and a half! On the positive side, the seating area out the back was really nice and relaxing to sit in after a long day.
Overall I would definitely come back. I might not eat in the restaurant again but then again it does mean the joy of the patio area!

I decided to stay as it looked good on reviews and it was . The room was very clean . The beds were very comfortable and the shower perfect . The bath products were nice and the tea tray well stocked . There was a room near our room with an ice machine which came in handy as I had a painful leg . There was a vending on level 2 which was good . It was a perfect quiet night . I would definitely stay again

Reception staff very rude upon arrival
When the bed change is done dirty towels given back. Bedding was dirty with stains.
Very noisy rooms you can here people abouve walking about, opening and closing doos.
Amazing view of the bin store from the windows that dont open.
Rooms very compact 2 single beds pushed toghether where the room could only fit 1 single bed.
4.7
Service great, food great, room and surroundings great. Staff very helpful and attentive.
4.7
Absolutely brilliant, park side room view amazing we could see the maned wolves all night, plus tapirs and bush dogs. Bistro next door had lovely food and great staff....this will now become an annual visit for us.
4.7
Such a helpful friendly staff nothing is too much trouble made to feel really welcome
4.7
Overnight stay , arrived late the restaurant had closed but vending machine and microwave saved the Day. Good breakfast comfortable room . Quirky location. A little disappointed not to hear the animals but considering the weather they were probably tucked up asleep.
4.7
Fantastic stay. Whole resort exceptional clean and well maintained. Rooms very comfortable and quiet and great facilities for families with babies on each floor with bottle warmers abd microwave.
4.7
Overall I enjoyed my stay here. The reception staff were friendly & the view of the park was amazing. My 2 year old enjoyed the bean bag & dragged it out onto the balcony so it was a lovely touch. It was slightly let down by a few things. In the room by the bed, my toddler was picking up some bits off the floor. We got the bits off him to find they were actually toe nails which was disgusting. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and seemed to have a dent in the mattress. We went for food next door which was lovely and again service was amazing. We were disappointed that the experience restaurant wasn’t open and we hadn’t realised that until we actually got there! Seems a shame that this is only open Fri, Sat & Sun especially in June!
4.7
Room looked lovely but could definitely do with different layout inside. Full mirror not in a suitable place! Needed to be more hooks so hand towels to dry.
