Relaxing in style

This house got style. Although recently build, you can feel as if it has a great history. The nice staff completes it. I want to mention Jeremiah, not to forget the others.

Limited choice of drinks. Beverages and alcoholic. The wine was good!

Exceptionnel !

Le cadre idyllique, la nature et le jardin, tout est beau, c'est très calme, la piscine pour se détendre, le confort des chambres, les salons, le menu, le petit déjeuner, le personnel serviable, aimable et disponible. C'est un endroit parfait ! Le sandwichs pris pour aller à l'aéroport sont délicieux ! Une adresse exceptionnelle ! Merci !

Super séjour dans un endroit de rêve !

Très bel hôtel de type boutique-hôtel avec un magnifique jardin et une très belle piscine situé dans le superbe quartier de Karen.

Le personnel est vraiment très agréable mais le service est parfois un peu lent. Ceci dit, vous êtes en vacances aussi prenez votre temps et savourez votre séjour dans ce magnifique établissement !

Wunderschöner Garten und freundlicher Empfang- alles war sehr sauber

Sehr einfaches Frühstück, ein Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer wäre schön gewesen und die Betten waren uns persönlich zu weich.

A great stay in a Kenyan gem

It had real Kenyan charm, spotlessly clean and beautiful and peaceful gardens. Staff were great and just wanted us to have a good time. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Late checkout was a real bonus.

The only reason we’ve given a 9 for comfort is that the shower was not great as cold water pressure was very poor. Didn’t spoil our stay though.

A lovely stay in a fascinating home from home

I loved the traditional Kenyan vibe and all the little extras, such as toothbrushes supplied, chocolates on the bed, coffee available free of charge, hot towels and dawa on arrival. The owner Dan is fascinating and I loved hearing about the evolution of the building project. The staff were simply outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. I greatly appreciated the upgrade to a bigger, lighter room. The pool was a real bonus.

The beds were a bit hard, but I have back troubles and getting a decent bed is tricky! Dogs barking in the night, not the fault of the hotel, but annoying nonetheless.

Stedet er et af de bedste overnatningssteder, vi nogensinde har oplevet og kan varmt anbefale det.

Stedets lokation var fantastisk og serviceniveauet fra personalet var noget af det bedste, vi har oplevet. Ejeren, Dan, var yderst hjælpsom og imødekommende. Det samme var stedets daglige manager, Bibiane, som gjorde alt for at opholdet kunne være dejligt for os. Alt personalet var meget venlige og hjælpsomme. Vi kan kun varmt anbefale The Drexel House Kenya til alle, som gerne vil have en skøn oplevelse.

Skønt overnatningssted i meget høj kvalitet og med meget god value for money!

The Drexel House Kenya er et af de bedste overnatningssteder, vi har været på med et servicenuveau, der på alle måder fortjener den bedste bedømmelse. Virkelig en perle, hvis man vil bo skønt, sikkert og godt beliggende i Karen. Morgenmanden var på alle måder god. Personalet fremragende med det virkeligt højt serviceniveau.

Homely feeling stay with home-cooked meals

Very friendly staff! Courteous and always available to help. We traveled with 2 kids 5 & 3 yrs old and they immediately took to Drexel house as if its their home. We stayed at Drexel house before and after our safari and highly recommend this location to families.

Home away from home! Peaceful, cosy, beautifuly decorated- vintage but neat & clean.

Unlike many other hotels, the Drexel House offers much more to its guests than it promises. During our stay, both Dan and the hotel staff made us feel at home and became like a family with the guests staying with us at the same time. You can observe the refined taste of its owner, Dan, in every corner of Drexel House, which fills the definition of a boutique hotel. You can spend the whole day reading a book, chatting with your loved ones, sipping your tea/coffee and eating your meal in its authentic and peaceful garden. The best thing is that you can have your breakfast at any time you want, you can't have such luxury anywhere! We are grateful to Dan, the owner of the hotel,and dear Bibiana who personally took care of my mother and niece who was sick when we arrived at the hotel, and did their best so that they can recover quickly. Happily provided whatever we needed! We look forward to visiting them again in the shortest possible time! And I believe that even after years, Drexel will maintain its current quality and offer the highest quality service to its guests. Boutique Hotel at its best!

Superb stay with lovely staff.

Absolutely excellent stay. The staff are so lovely and helpful, especially Bibiana who made us feel very welcome and cared for. The house and room was very clean, with a beautifully maintained and peaceful garden. We felt very safe. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. We had full English, pancakes, fresh juices, fruit and more. Would 100% come back.

It was a pleasure staying, and the staff and owner were all charming.

This charming country house is in Karen End, which is quiet and beautiful. Be aware that this location is not really "in Nairobi" in terms of city life. The style is comfortable and in the old style. The hosts and staff are exceptional and able to meet any reasonable demand. Dinner can be ordered in advance, if you want to dine in. Breakfast is ample and varied. There is a nice swimming pool and gardens. Large bathroom and comfortable bed. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a quiet retreat.

In the case of the room I stayed in, it was quite dark, although there were several good lamps. There might be a call for a bit more light.

Beautiful home stay with very friendly hosts.

Exceptional property and gardens! Very friendly hosts Mercy and Viviana. Meals cooked to order. They aim to please. They set up breakfast in the garden for us which was so wonderful. My son was very sick with travelers sickness for the 2 nights we stayed there and they accommodated all our requests for food for him and were super kind and helpful while he recovered. It helped to have a home and kitchen versus a hotel room when someone is that sick. Laundry is done on premises for a very reasonable rate. It is very a different experience staying in a lovely chalet with superb gardens. There are so many birds we saw and all the different bird calls we've never heard before.

The team at Drexel House were very kind and helpful and attentive. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Breakfast was delicious and we sat in the gardens where the staff had laid a table for us. Swimming pool was great a real bonus.

Magical place and the sweetest people

Mercy and her team are real gems - so sweet, kind and attentive. We really felt at home! The house itself is beautifully decorated, offers comfortable facilities and has a characteristic charm. The neighborhood (Karen) is very green and safe. The garden was our favorite place - tropical paradise! Let’s not forget the food - we loved everything that was prepared for us.

We had some small issue with the hot water but it was addressed and alternatives were immediately offered.
