Well located.
Parking was a bit of a gamble. Room sadly smelt of damp and very difficult to open any windows. The host tried and struggled.
Expected noise from customers in the evening and this soon diminished. However someone was regularly on their phone, close outside, talking loudly after I had settled. ( My guess is was a staff member, but can not prove that. I did raise it with staff and reassured was not them.)

Accommodation was excellent fantastic location right on the beach.. Stayed in the superior chalet for 3 nights had such a great time we didnt want to leave so decided to stay another 3 nights. MJ made this possible by letting us stay .in the newly completed apartment with balcony, which was amazing both inside and out. As always, the staff at Poachers were so friendly, helpful, and welcoming thanks to all of you for making the week so enjoyable . Allistair, Cathy, and Dave x

Amazing location, right on the beach. Lovely fresh sea breeze every day. It's good to have a little kitchen in the room so we could make some meals and wash clothes when needed. Owners were very friendly and approachable. We had dinner and breakfast here too, which was good.
Music was very loud from the pub in our room over the weekend, especially Saturday. Fine during the week though and it was less noticeable in the kids room.

Friendly staff, clean apartment and stunning views, moments away from beach, highly recommend
Everything was lovely

Convenient for beach and comfortable
Odd item dated but didn’t spoil overall comfort

The apartment is nicely new. First floor just on top of the pub. It has an access independent from the pub through outside stairs. But it has also an internal stairs to access the pub (really nice if you want to go to the pub without going out). The apartment was really clean and Sandy, the cleaning lady, was really helpful for any requests we had. The apartment has also a little kitchen with all the facilities: fridge/freezer, kettle, cooker, oven, cutlery, cups and washing up liquid and sponge. Also, the apartment has 2 ensuite bathrooms with really nice showers.
The apartment is lacking a few hangers in the bathrooms and a little desktop to be able to work if needed.
Overall, the staying it was really good as the position of the apartment is right on the beach and the pub has really nice food. Ahed made us feel really welcome and he has accommodating us for any needs we had. Really polite and friendly chap. Sandy as well as Ahed was also really good and careful about our stay and always available for any request.
As I said Ahed and Sandy did an extra mile for us and if I could give 5+ stars I would.
Unfortunately I have to give a 4 star overall as we had a bad experience with one of the staff. Mandy one of staff member was really unhelpful and rude. Because there is no desktop in the apartment, I asked her if they had an extension lead to plug my laptop outside so I could seat at the table outside and work from there. When I asked her this she was all reluctant and disturbed from my request that quickly said: “People bring their own extension and we don’t have any for you!” without even try to ask to the manager or someone. After that I asked Ahed and he without any hesitation said: “Of course we have an extension for you. I will prepare it tomorrow for you. Just let me know where you want it.”.
Ahed 5+ stars
Mandy 1 star (1 star because at least she didn’t swear at me).
The morning after I forgot to take with me some jam for my morning snack and I asked Mandy if I could have some jam pots they serve for their breakfast. I told her that I would pay for it of course. Mandy said: “I cannot give the pots to you as we buy them in bulk and I don’t know how much I can charge you. I cannot give it to you. You can go a buy the jam in the supermarket down the road 5-10 minutes driving”. This really put me off as they had in display all those jam pots and she even didn’t try to ask the manager to see if she could sell it to me.

Location directly looking onto the beach could not be better, the view was superb, the staff were friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend it and would return without any hesitation.
The chalet was a little on the small side, especially the bathroom, and manoeuvring into the shower took a little effort .... I can see this being a bit difficult for someone who has mobility problems, or is of an extra large size but if you are using it purely as a base and a place to sleep as we were, then this is less of an issue.

The location was fantastic, for relaxing on a beautiful beach. The staff were very friendly. When the building works are finished it will be better still.
We like dogs, but there were quite a lot around, I think this goes hand in hand with the ability to take your dog on a camper van holiday, and many camper vans park up in the poachers pocket car park.

It has a beautiful location and very nice food. Great value for money.

Right on the sea front. Huge sandy beach. Comfy bed.
Rooms are small but well equipped with toaster fridge microwave and kettle. Pub had a games room for a rainy afternoon. Pub food available all day.

Breakfast was good
Meals were not great

Room was looking ery dated and needs doing up. Workmans mess was left out side room next door.

The location
Fact you can stopover in a motorhome for the night.
Very run down, room was shabby, skirting boards rotting, no blinds on the window? So have to keep curtains closed.

We like the location, right next to the beach, we liked listening to the waves during the night and watched the sunrise in the morning. We had two dogs with us and the Chalet was perfect for letting them out when needed.
Very friendly welcome, the chalet was clean, nice toiletries provided. Quiet, had a good nights sleep. New games room which will be good for younger visitors in the summer
The Poachers Pocket is a work in progress, and the renovations are very basic. The Chalet was small and basic, but clean. Some nice touches i.e. kettle, coffee, microwave and toaster, however no cups for the coffee and tea that was provided. Lots of rubbish outside from the building work.

Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, nice clean room, nice sea view,
Good food
Bed was uncomfortable

Breakfast (which was an exta expense) was poor - horrible sausages and overcooked eggs cooked in dirty oil
Tv did not work.
Someone eventually came to look at - didn't fix it but left saying they would return but didn't. Also was not forewarned that the chalet block was a building site. Our "sea view " was blocked by a skip full of rubble.

It is literally on the beach. I could take my puppy and he had a great time! There was a microwave, kettle and toaster which was pretty handy. The food at the bar was fantastic - we had a breakfast and a dinner and both were very tasty!
The room is quite small. The TV didn't work but we don't really use it anyway.
There's no grass for a dog to do it's business so we had a few very dark walks to try and find somewhere suitable!

Owners and staff were amazing hosts, food was lovely (both evening and breakfast) and location great. Dog friendly accommodation, and a nice bar and games area. Refurbishment currently ongoing is to a very high standard. Large, well equipped rooms. Superb value for money too.
We were not aware until we arrived that refurbishment was ongoing and therefore the booked chalet wasn’t available. However the room provided in the main building was nice and large, had everything we needed (and more). The workmen were polite and friendly and it didn’t really affect our stay.

Rooms were recently refurbished and all furniture were brand new. Decor of the room was really lovely and cosy.
Heating was also very good and kept us warm all night.
The pub also serves very good food at reasonable prices and the hosts are very friendly.
The bathroom door didn't close properly, all the way.
It was very windy when we visited and we could hear the wind coming through some gaps. Nonetheless we were not cold at all as heating was very good.

It was so nice, clean comfortable, warm everything you could ask for.

The pub/restaurant served great food at a good price. The staff were very helpful and polite. They are dog friendly.
The room was very small and cluttered. The facilities were all that you'd expect, but in such a tiny space.
3.9
The chalet was one of six which faced onto the beach. Nice view and great for the dogs. Also attached to the pub which was a bonus.
3.9
everything...that is why i only stayed 1 night out of 3.
3.9
Full breakfast and evening meal was OK, nothing special. Location was very good, near the beach and with good car parking facilities.
The room was very small hence with limited facilities for own catering.
We had a dog with us therefore the small bedroom & showroom facilities made things quite difficult.
3.9
Great location and very friendly and helpful staff..
They are obviously updating the premises so there was some building material around which looked untidy but did not affect our stay
3.9
The location is outstanding. Beautiful. The room is as expected for a chalet accommodation. It was spotless and there was a full size fridge and microwave provided along with plate/bowl/cutlery/cups and glasses for 2 people. Toiletries were also provided. There is a lovely 2 seater bench to admire the view outside each accommodation as well.
The room smelt on first arriving- possibly the cleaning products used but opening the window dealt with that - though we couldn't leave open for long as there were many midges at sunset. Throughout the night there was a noise/hum possibly from a generator which spoilt the ambience. It didn't prevent me sleeping though. A small table/ fold away table would be useful in the room

We liked everything, staff friendly and welcoming. Food is great, especially the breakfast. Beautiful Sea views. Very dog friendly. Very relaxing stay. Bed was comfortable, room was clean.
Can't think of anything we didn't like.

Exactly what it said in the tin. Exceptionally dog friendly, which was our prior most requirement.
Small gripe - but light on outside the pub all night shine into the bedroom - disturbing my sleep.
3.9
The location incredibly close to the most wonderful beach
A tiny bit small kitchen facilities were minimal
3.9
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Bed was comfortable clean bedding.. toiletries provided if needed.plenty of tea coffee sugar. Lovely Sea views.
Layout for cooking/tea making.unhygienic having to get water from bathroom for tea/coffee. No where to wash dishes..no comfy seating or dinning facilities...not really a chalet more an out door bedroom so should be advertised as such. No specific parking for chalet or apartment users or disabled parking. Only one choice for breakfast. Lights on all night no coverage for the door window
