Would definitey choose to stay here again!

A very neat and tidy room, with a comfortable mattress.

The room smelled musty, but I opened the window and kept the fan turned on.

Nice room above a pub with friendly staff

Descent hotel for the price and location. It was raining heavy when we arrived in the evening so was pleased to not have to go out to grab dinner. Pub serves a nice pub meals and has a great selection of drinks at the bar and the staff a very friendly.

The shared amenities in both the men’s and women’s facilities need a shelf in the separate shower cubicle to keep clothes & belongings dry. No milk supplied though there is a shop close by and a large shared fridge in the kitchen.

Cheap and cheerful!

We couldn’t fault our stay. The best spot to explore Newtown and beyond. Staff were warm and happy to help wherever possible, bed was comfy and the quality of room was amazing for the price. Bathrooms were clean and I only encountered one other person using them at the same time. We also didn’t notice the street noise (trains mostly) but earplugs were provided anyway. The complimentary snacks and water/pods were such a nice touch, and the kitchen was well equipped and spotless too. As others have said, we were a little skeptical booking a room in a pub but would gladly again!

Heater didn’t work but the room was surprisingly warm.

I would definitely stay here again based on location, value for money and comfort.

Location was perfect - near station, large park for exercising and plenty of eats to choose from. Staff were very helpful and no problem checking in early. Very clean, roomy shared bathroom and well provisioned shared kitchen.

Downside was noise level inside and outside hotel. Slamming door inside and traffic outside.

Clean, comfortable, excellent location

Hubby and I stayed 2 nights. The staff at the bar downstairs are lovely, especially Nathan. The room itself was small but very clean and comfortable, we were really only there to sleep. Shared bathroom was totally fine, always clean and nobody in there when I needed to use it. The best part of staying here is the location, right opposite the train station straight into the city and right on King Street. With windows closed the room was surprisingly quiet, traffic and train noise didn’t bother us at all. For price and location, it was an extremely good stay.

Parking is an issue, although we found a car park nearby on Lord Street the whole area is notorious for hard to find parking. Once parked though, we didn’t need our car as there are buses and trains literally on the doorstep. Also, the building is stairs only, no lift, wasn’t an issue for us as we travel light but others might struggle if they have large suitcases.

A reasonably priced overnight stay in a nice old hotel in a convenient location.

Excellent location - just across the road from Enmore Station and close to cafes, shops and buses in King St Newtown. Loved the heritage bathrooms - all very clean and nicely tiled.

In contrast to the lovely old heritage bathrooms and staircase, the bedroom I had was starkly modern and a little dark as the only window opened to the roof space next to the bathrooms.

Comfortable room & convenient to Enmore & Newtown

Staff were very friendly & helpful. Convenient to get to Enmore theatre. Access to full sized kitchen

Small bar fridge in room so guests don't have to walk to the other end of hallway when you want to just get milk or a cold drink or snacks etc

Great central stay right in the middle of Newtown

Great location near the park and train station. Plenty of power points, and good shelving / storage solution. Kitchen was clean and well fitted out. Ceiling fan helped to keep the room cool. Plenty of towels provided, as well as shampoos etc.

Bathroom facilities were a little dated compared to the rest of the hotel, but they were clean.

very good located, near train station. park for a walk or jogging just across the street. Many cafes and restaurants in the same street and also very nice drinks and food in the hotel. the staff is very nice :)

doors are closing very loud. depends how long you want to sleep it could be your alarm in the morning ;)

A great pub stay in a great part of town, definitely a must stay.

The room was clean and spacious with lovely furnishings. Its in a great location and the staff were just delightful.

No aircon. Only one toilet in the ladies bathroom.

Exceptional

Friendly and welcoming staff, easy check-in at the bar. Comfy bed with all essentials, shared bathroom with tub and separate toilet are clean and don’t have to wait in queue. Shared kitchen with tea and coffee and fridge. Good vibe, good food and of course nice beers in the pub downstairs and so surprised we heard no noise from the room even on a busy Saturday night. Really close to train and bus station which is easy to go to the city. Just 10mins to airport by taxi. Recommend to everyone, it is really value for money.
