We had an excellent stay at Killians. The staff was attentive and friendly. The location of the hotel is a stone's throw from the ferry port which is accessible by car ferry. Fort Kochi sightseeing is all accessible and there are plenty of tuk-tuks outside to visit Mantancherry. The hotel is nicely designed with the corridors facing into a courtyard with a pool for a cool dip. The rooms are large and clean with all the basic amenities. The hotel were lovely enough to organise us an Uber down south, a later check out for our honeymoon, and even fixed my shoe. An older building but with a lot of charm and a quiet, serene feeling off the main road hustle and bustle.
I would suggest asking for an omelette at breakfast, as the breakfast options after 9am are limited. Limited menu for dining at the restaurant, but plenty of options nearby.
The facilities are a little older, but it gives a more rustic feeling for guests looking for simple, authentically colonial charm.

Right in the heart of Ft. Kochi,
Accessibility to key landmarks - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Restaurant - 👍🏻(many good cafes around the hotel to try out)
Staff - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Facilities - 👍🏻👍🏻
Price to Comfort - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Would I stay here again - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No major issues as such.
Air conditioning - sometimes it was stuck at 24degrees.
A good comfortable quality stay otherwise.

There was no ventilation vents in the bathroom

Good central location . Nice large rooms . A more traditional style rather than ‘Travelodge, Ibis ’ style hotel.
Nothing really . If being picky the view from the room wasn’t great . I wasn’t tempted by the pool.

Old world charm, with modern facilities. Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent location from the Biennale venues. Excellent sea food restaurant.
3.9
Close to the river & convenient for walking to the market.
The traffic & noise from the car ferry close by - room at back was quiet though.

The physical infrastructure, or HARDWARE, is undoubtably excellent.
The hotel is located on the picturesque River Road, close to landmarks like Santa Cruz Basilica and Bastion Bungalow. Numerous restaurants, shops, cultural centres, the ferry station and Fort Kochi bus stand are within walking distance. Aspinwall, the main venue for the Kochi Muziris Biennale, is just a stone’s throw away.
Killian’s hotel is built in a U shape with a small swimming pool in the courtyard. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, with a total of 22 rooms spread over the first, second and third floors. Although this hotel is located on a busy street, there is sufficient space within the property for parking a dozen cars.
Our family group occupied two rooms on the first floor, which were quite spacious and well furnished. Brown ceramic floor tiles and natural lighting imparted a warm ambience to our rooms. As for furniture, there were twin beds, a study table with a chair and a round table with a pair of elegantly shaped wooden armchairs with cane weaving. The only shortcoming of the room was that the illumination was insufficient at night.
The bathroom was quite spacious and it had natural lighting. The toiletries were unbranded, but their quality was fairly good. The only drawback was that the water tasted saline.
The services, or SOFTWARE, left much scope for improvement.
I had booked two rooms from 26th to 30th Jan through booking.com and it was said that the amount would be charged to my credit card on arrival at the hotel. Further, the confirmation clearly stated that free cancellation was available till 2359hrs on 18th Jan. Yet I got an email from the hotel late on the evening of 14th Jan, asking me to pay the booking amount by 4pm on 15th Jan, failing which they would be “forced to cancel the booking”. I phoned the hotel and spoke to Mr Chandan who consented to investigate this unsavoury email, but I did not hear from the hotel again – though mercifully they did not carry out their threat to cancel the booking.
Breakfast was not included in our package, but we did consider eating at Lilly Grace Restaurant. The spread was disappointing and not worth Rs. 500 + taxes. The Room service also offered quite a limited menu.
Killian’s seems quite stingy about low value consumables like water bottles and tea bags, which are liberally provided by other hotels of this standard. Tea bags, milk sachets, sugar packets and coffee sachets were jumbled in a jar with a small mouth. If any of them were consumed, they were not replaced during the daily cleaning.
On the last day I requested a late check out for one room since our flight was in the evening. The receptionist said that she had to speak to the manager. After making me wait for several minutes, she said that we could keep one room till noon. According to our booking, the check out time was noon for both the rooms. The reason given for refusing my request for late checkout was that they were fully booked. This seems highly unlikely, considering that it we were checking out on a Monday (that morning, the occupancy was so low that the usual buffet breakfast had been cancelled).

nice location, friendly staff and good food in restaurant. the pool is also great.
breakfast was very basic and bathroom needs an update.

The pool is very good although it is in the centre of the hotel with staff and visitors passing by. Hotel is located very close to the fishing nets and promenade. The rooms are spacious and quite comfortable. It is good value considering its location. Some staff were very helpful and switched on. Tip: if you can afford it, the food at the Brunton Boatyard opposite is excellent but you have to book, also good curried fish at the waterside restaurant of the nearby Fort Cochin House. We enjoyed our stay but there were a lot of things that could have been better.
A lot of things are not great, inlcuding very smelly bathroom, room phone not working, windows that you can't see out of but if you could the view was unappealing, reception often unmanned, the restaurant was pretty bad, every time we asked for pools towels we had to wait while someone fetched them (why not have them at the pool!), the staff made a mess of booking us a taxi to the airport telling us they had booked it when clearly no-one had (the driver confirmed this but it was obvious from the guilty faces). This is a prime location and this hotel could do very well but a revamp is needed.

We have already stayed here several times. so we like it.

location and price
the breakfast was average and the property needs a face lift

Great location. Very helpful lady on reception, who helped us book travel. Effective air conditioning.
The hotel didn't send the cab we had requested to pick us up from the airport. We are not Indian residents and had no access to the Indian phone network or Internet and were exhausted after an 11 hour journey. We eventually got help from the airport help centre to make a phone call to the hotel. Nobody knew about our taxi booking and they were very indifferent to us. We eventually got a cab at the airport. When we arrived at the hotel nobody apologised or showed any concern. We later learned the manager's niece had been taken ill But somebody else should have picked up the instruction to book our transport.
Also the shower was really bad. Hot water arrived through the tap but not the shower. Breakfast wasn't great, but cheap. However there was an absolutely filthy electrical switch next to the kettle (see photo). Not nice, in an area where food is being served.

very spacious bedroom and bathroom. the staff was lovely and the hotel is very well located
no hot water so all the showers were cold

Clean, comfortable, and spacious room. Amazing location and generous breakfast.
The staff can take their time with the check in. We also booked a taxi with them that never showed up. Even so, they tried to help us much as possible.

its right next to the jetty, location is good
food was very bad

The location is excellent. All staff members are polite and helpful. The owner went out of his way to help our family with food on new year's Eve despite the huge crowd and pressure on the kitchen.
Room service took a bit longer than expected but that may be because we visited during the new years eve period.

Location and room size
Air conditioning is very poor, changed 3 timez / rooms, but all had little to no cooling .
Breakfast was not warm or warmish at best.

Awesome location just next to the Chinese fishing nets and the Vypin Ferry. For the Ernakulam (marine drive) ferry you have to walk 10 minutes to the custom house. Many restaurants are located around the area. My personal favourite were Tibet kitchen, fusion bay and …….
All the Hotel staff were Super friendly and helpful. Hotel has a good ambience and nice vibe to it. A home away from home.
Very clean rooms though the functioning of the hot water shower needs to be checked.
They have inhouse restaurant and food was very tasty. Authentic Keralite cuisine. They will customize the food to your taste.
Pool starts at 3.2 ft and goes up to 4.5 ft.
3.9
Very spacious room. The biggest I have seen yet in this price range. Location was perfect. Close to the ferry point to Vypin island, close to good eateries and well known streets
Food and service in the restaurant. I had it only once there, when I was checking in. After that I never had since I didn't have good experience the first time. Food was average, portion below average and time taken to serve almost an hour.
3.9
Room & bathroom was huge
Costly food , very less options.
