A beautifully restored old building in a great location. The room was large and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and the pool and courtyard were delightful. Didn't have breakfast there but there are lots of places around to eat. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. Would recommend without hesitatiion.
Can't think of anything.

The Old Courtyard is absolutely gorgeous and surreal, and felt like a heritage home rather than a hotel. That being said it had all the usual amenities of a hotel - great linen, furniture, turn down service etc. I ate my meals outside but this was not a problem as the hotel is surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants. I wanted a very relaxing vacation that felt like a break from the day to day, and thats exactly what I got here, with Mr Wilson and the rest of the staff always available for any help I needed.

Very nice rooms (superior, second floor), big, wooden floors and ceilings, lots of windows, AC and mosquito nets. The quiet courtyard and the swimming pool were great to relax in the afternoon after walking around the streets of Kochi. Good value for money.

The location is good.
The rooms were filled with bad odour of mould. The sheets were dusty. The property is not well maintained. We were not given the rooms that we selected while booking. The staff was rude to us.

It was all great - perhaps the Mosquito net needed a little adjustment, but we were happy
There was a little confusion over a night we thought we were booked when we weren't, but apart from that we were happy.

the room was very nice
the manager was extremely rude (the rest of the staff was extremely friendly and polite)

gorgeous tranquil hotel in the centre of Kochi.
a massive thank you to the staff that made our last day in India extra special!

Location in the hub of Kochi. Pretty courtyard and rooms with teak floors and traditional furniture. Very friendly and attentive staff. Small, well maintained, pool was wonderful for cooling down.
Sadly, there is no restaurant or availability of light refreshments apart from in room facilities.

location was perfect. Paul the manager was exceptional nothing was too much trouble and the outdoor facilities were beautifully maintained. the rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed and the beds were super comfortable with clean fresh linen. Can’t recommend this hotel too highly.
top floor room had occasional problems with water pressure.

Thus is an exquisite hotel in a fabulous location. the rooms are beautiful and very clean and comfortable. Paul ,the manager is a wonderful host and very friendly, helpful and interesting. He felt like a friend by the time we left. in fact all the staff are happy and friendly. It is exceptional value for money. we loved our 6 day stay here and will definitely be back. Thank
you Old Courtyard for your warm hospitality.
The shower was a little bit temperamental at times but in such a lovely old heritage hotel this was not a real problem. Took a little fiddling to get to 100%. Not really a big deal.

As I was recouperating from an illness, I opted for a deluxe double for more room and a sitting area with fridge. I asked for a quiet room, but the deluxe all seem to face Princess Street which is a busy tourist street. However, the neighbouthood got quite quiet after 10 pm, so sleep was fine.
This property was restored, rather than fully renovated, so some things may be limited....like spare outlets for chargers. Easy enough to unplug one bedside light for a charger. Lighting may be a little dim for any digital nomads. Restoration also meant when something gors wrong, it may take more effort to fix it. There became a problem with water to shower and taps for some rooms. I had water initially, but next morning...none. they were prompt to bring me a pitcher of water for hand washing, and within a couple of hours, they found a plumber to work on Diwali. After some head scratching and efforts, it was clear my room was going to require extensive work. They moved me up one floor and there was minimal impact to my stay. There was some noise while work was being done, but they kept me informed of expectations and apologized several times for the inconvenience...which it really wasn't.
Having a pool available was great for me as I didn't leave the property for long. AC works well, beds are comfortable and location for convenience cannot be beat. However it also means you are in the thick of tuktuk driver sales pitches.
The owner was quick to respond to some enquiries and the manager was always helpful.
The one small thing that needs updating is to remove the comment about a cafe being available for snacks. It closed during Covid and hasn't reopened. But there are 2 corner grocers for breakfast options and they were quick to offer dishes for my use. Otherwise many eateries in the area.
That I had to leave. The cafe mentioned would also have been handy.

Charming hotel, kind staff, and comfortable bed

A Portuguese merchant's (or wast it businessman's?) house restored and converted to homestay. So Its an 'experience'. A good one. Walking distance to very nice areas. Ask for the Ayurvedic spa. Its 3 houses away and very worth it. For dinner do stop by the 'Fusion Bay' restaurant, also at walking distance, recommend by the guy at front desk. Indeed authentic food prepration. No other 'local' prep came even close to it, for entire stay in Kerala. Really.
In room Wi-fi spotty when device away from the router, but normal if near to it. Nothing bad.

The location is very convenient - located at walking disance to lots of cafes. The suite room is spacious, aesthetic and very comfortable (the bathrooms too). The property is well maintained!
Food service is not great - especially could serve better tea and coffee.

Good location, good rooms, really nice garden and the staff are all really good
