We had a wonderful comfortable stay here. Stayed for one night. We had a deluxe room. Immaculately clean. Comfortable. And had everything we needed. We used the bar to meet family. Very reasonable prices, and well stocked. All staff were happy and arrive with a smile

The manager at the breakfast hall is rude, Everybody else was spot on. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The place is clean and well-managed.

This was an anniversary trip. The Hotel has changed names so we had trouble in finding it and is also currently being renovated so had to juggle with builders/decorators around the hotel. Our room was on top floor (4th) one tiny lift, on that floor the corridors are narrow. Room was newly decorated as was the bathroom. We found the bed to be a small double. The room did have a mini fridge. The restaurant for us was good food and breakfast was help yourself buffet. We came by car and as the hotel doesn’t have its own car park we paid £10 for our 2 day’s stay for permit parking on the street, which couldn’t be guaranteed you’d get a place again if you returned from going out for the day. Once all the renovations are finished it’ll be a lovely hotel, the only thing that’ll stop us returning is the car parking

Lovely front staff - bed was very comfortable and the pillows , nice view of the sea - Costa coffee shop in the lobby - renovation work not the best craftsman , but recently renovated .

We had a welcoming greeting on arrival. Our room was lovely and spacious and overlooking the sea and Leas Cliff. Room was very comfortable. Small table and couple of chairs so you could sit and watch the worlds go by out of the windows. Great view of the sunrise in the morning over the harbour.
Hotel was within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants and great walks along the Leas Cliff area or down by the sea.
About 20 minutes walk from train station.

Change from staying at travelodge in ashford before catching ferry. Only negative points were milk was off or something was wrong with it. Put this down to weather as same thing has happened before and lack of parking . Would stay again though would endeavour to arrive earlier which might help parking!

Difficult to get parking outside the hotel so had to park on the seafront and pay

Great location, great hotel, beautiful town- I would go again a heartbeat (and except I am a ten hour plane ride away). The bed was exceedingly comfortable and the breakfast was great. Maj at the restaurant was an amazing host!

Amazing hotel that is currently going through a refurbishment. Excellent service but the disabled access is not the best

The property was in quite a nice area and close to a lovely stroll to the beach. The breakfast was v nice and the breakfast staff and the checkin and checkout staff were v friendly.
On the ‘could do better’ side, there seemed to be too much ongoing improvement work going on with the bar closed, and a dodgy little lift that did not follow the direction of patrons’ wishes as per floor buttons pressed!

Stayed in Junior Suite. It had obviously been recently refurbished, and was nicely finished. Two points. The design of the shower tray seemed to be designed to channel water out of the shower cubicle onto the bathroom floor. The smoke/fire alarm on the bedroom ceiling flashes laser green all night, and is therefore not conducive to sleep. Which is counter to the point of a bedroom.

Thus property is 8n a fabulous locations right on the Lees
A short walk from the town centre and train station makes the location ideal.
Breakfast amazung value.
All staff went out of their way to help and were so polite.
Would highly recommend and would stay there again.

Room was good. Shower took ages to warm and was weak. Could provide some water in room. Reception on check in good. Breakfast disappointing. Cheap sausage bacon black pudding. No pastries. Cheap unpleasant orange and Apple juice
Overall ok but not memorable

Hotel is under renovation so expected it to be a bit messy etc. lift didn’t work which was a bit of a pain but manageable.
We stayed in a renovated sea view room which was very nice. Great to have A/C!
Could hear EVERYTHING out in the hallway which was really annoying - the rooms are not soundproof.
Breakfast was good - service was not great.
Great location for The Leas and walking into town.

Nice sea view room on 4th floor. Recently refurbished to a good standard. Liked the toothbrush charger, very handy. USB points too which is a plus. Welcome tray with tea/coffee and biscuits, always welcome.

It was a lovely hotel that has just been renovated and they were finishing off the last floor whilst we were there May 24. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed dinner in the bar although my chilli con carne didnt have any chilli in it.
We found it easy to park.
Breakfast was rrally nice fresh, and no greese at all, pouched and fried eggs were cooked to order, the fresh bread was amazing.
I really clean hotel, would book here again.

The Clifton is in the closing stages of a much needed renovation. The communal areas, bar and restaurant have been good for a long time, but the rooms were from a bygone era. Thankfully, they are now all up to a decent modern spec. My double room was comfortable and clean, with the climate control and new double glazed windows a welcome addition (aside from anything, to keep the noise of squaky seagulls out in the morning!). A rainfall style shower with a handheld shower on top was nice. The MPW restaurant underneath is a real bonus, as is the very smart bar. A very short stumble from town or the zig zag path down to the beach/harbour. An excellent base for exploring folkestone and beyond.
