This place never fails to suprise me from the moment we arrive nestled in the middle of a village community, we are welcomed and hsnded over keys to a 3bed cottage with loafs of charm , best hotel .com stay so far

One night stop over. Room was well maintained and comfortable. Evening meal in the bar was great with an open fire keeping everyone toasty. Breakfast in the morning was amazingly good.

Very average stay, in what I could only describe as a dour hotel. Can’t quite understand where all the glowing reviews come from. Outdated facilities, only positive was it’s a nice quiet village.

I was able to book at the Crown Hotel a few hours before our stay. It was last minute decision as we live 3 1/2 hours away to where my Son lives, to meet my Grandson who is 2 weeks old.
It is a lovely place, went to the bar to book in, the staff and customers were friendly.
Chloe took us to the room which was nice.
Told us where to go for breakfast following day. (Which was very good)
Had a lovely meal in the evening down at the bar scampi and chips,
The only downside is the parking there isnt many spaces we were lucky as a customer was leaving as we turned up.
I shall book again when we stay.
Location is good for us

Great value, good quality food at a good price. Very clean and a comfortable bed.
Friendly helpful staff.
A very interesting old building with character and conveniently situated.

Very friendly hotel with a lot of old but very well refurbished rooms. Lovely evening meal and breakfast. Lots of staff who were very friendly. Nice range of ales in the. Bar.

What a hidden gem, excellent place to stay, staff where fantastic, it was nice to stay in village with so much character.
We only had the breakfast and this had to be one he best breakfast I have had compared to any hotels I've stayed over the years.
We will be back.

The staff and service couldn’t be better very friendly and helpful. A very good choice on the evening menu and a good home cooked breakfast.

A very nice country pub / hotel. The staff are really nice, friendly and efficient. Lovely evening meal and breakfast too. Just what we needed.

Stayed overnight with our son. Exactly what we needed. Spacious, clean and well appointed family room in quaint, quiet location. Excellent breakfast in characterful, friendly and professional environment. Enjoyed exploring the Great Estates Trail from the doorstep.
2.5
Checked in very late but that wasnt a problem, made a request for ground floor due to wifes mobility and that was accommodated without issue, room was comfortable, however room was quite warm and fan provided was not suitable could not feel any benefit, shower was a bit temperamental but not an issue, breakfast was fantastic and staff were very atrentive and efficient, shame our stay was so short as would have liked to enjoy the surrounding area as looked very quaint and beautiful, overall very good stay and good value for money, hope to stay again soon.

The property was easy to find had adequate parking room was a nice size.
Only 1 issue there was no bottled water catering for those who don't drink the tea and coffee provided.

Super character stay - village location with a range of rooms in outside buildings. Super comfortable bed and lovely breakfast

A lovely heritage property in a central village location. The rooms are well equipped and everything was in working order. Food service from a varied menu is available until 2100 helpful😄. The breakfast was equally of good quality.

I only booked for one night, and the website said that the room was ideal for a solo traveller. However, there was ample room for two, and I was completely spoilt with a patio, too. There was also plenty of choice for breakfast, and I was amazed at how early they served it, too.
The only downside was the squeaky headboard, which I had to quieten with the bath mat. I forgot to bring it to the staffs attention.
I would definitely stay again.

A single night in a large and pleasant family room with breakfast included cost £114 for the three of us, which we thought very good value. The dinner on the evening of arrival was excellent, the breakfast the following morning less so (a different chef) but there was plenty of it to fill us up for the day ahead. Overall, highly recommended for its welcoming and courteous staff and value for money.

All the staff were polite and friendly, even though they were so busy with all 40 rooms booked with a wedding party. The room was small but very clean. The lasagne I had was extremely good. My husband had the crab, which he said was tasty but (as a fisherman) the smallest size of crab that could be landed. The only slightly awkward thing was lack of signage to know how to check in, which, it seems, was to be done at the bar.

Nice people and food, rooms are very tired and require refurbishment

A welcoming refuge with all the staff working hard to make you welcome

Stayed a few times always excellent

This is the second time we've stayed and we will be happy to return in the future. We were made to feel welcome by friendly staff on arrival and shown to our room. The room was bigger than expected, with plenty of seating for comfort, lots of storage and windows to ensure the room stayed cool. It was well laid out, to ensure spaciousness. Clean throughout, but a bit worn.
Loads of options for a great breakfast, which is included in the price, again staff were really friendly and efficient.
The Crown is central for visiting Thetford, the surrounding forest, the Arboretum, which is within walking distance and well worth a visit. The village is friendly and has a lovely chip shop and local store.
Next time we visit we'll bring bikes as we also found out they have secure storage areas.

The hotel and location was perfect. The staff were excellent and my wife and I were very well looked after especially in the restaurant.

Have stayed here on several occasions. Its good value for money.
Staff are very welcoming and warm.
Rooms are a little old fashioned with lots of brown furniture. Many power points but only a few working.
The beds are large and comfortable with crisp bedding and good pillows.
Room was very hot when I stayed and the small fan was not enough to keep the room cool. Could not open window as this on street.
Evening meal was ok but a pile of sliced up salad items in a big heap is not very appealing. The Cromer crab was so tiny placed on top.
Breakfast is good with local products included on the menu.

Fabulous stay, quirky, with lovely staff and grounds. Room was clean, comfortable with a lovely bathroom. If you want something ultra modern, this isn’t for you. But if you appreciate a building with history, originality, great service, then you will love it.

I weeded the court yard whilst we were there. Thank you to the member of staff changed our room due to me having two dogs with us. All staff were very attentive and courteous. Recommend this place to anyone with dogs for eating and staying. Be back…..

As it was summertime, the room could have done with a fan. Our room, 21, had quite steep stairs to carry up our luggage for older people. Maybe prospective clients should be advised.

Excellent stayed many times

Excellent dining, both dinner and breakfast were really good. Service was equally excellent, staff were welcoming and professional.
Our room was clean and comfortable but 'tired.'
2.0
Decent size room, but no water pressure in the shower at all !
They should be more sustainable with their bathroom products also.
2.5
Lovely comfy room, a double bed plus a single on the ground floor as I have walking disability.
We also brought our dog, they spoilt her rotten at breakfast by coming along with a sausage for her, all cut up and in a bowl.
Pub very friendly. Breakfast was amazing, my poached egg was lovely and cooked to perfection, the same for my husband’s scrambled egg with the cooked breakfast, top quality sausage and bacon.
We only stayed one night but will definitely be back to stay as so comfortable and made to feel welcome by everyone.

Second time we have stayed and as before the staff were lovely, the accomodation is good and there is a car park. Breakfast very good - great choice of food. Great location for visiting the Weeting Steam rally - together with our Austins 10.

Lovely, sparkling pub/hotel with huge beer garden in the very picturesque Mundford.
Staff are very friendly and even ran me to the train station.
One tip though - at breakfast, avoid the scrambled eggs like the plague unless you fancy eating desigated foam!

Nice and quiet location. Spacy room

Rooms were ok but you can hear the other guests above easily. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly.
