The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. and gave us a warm welcome. The et seemed a little short staffed, and U gad ti ask for my coffee ti be changed ad it was lukewarm due ti a faulty machine. The waiter was very obliging and they then made it by hand which was far better than by machine,
The bedroom was clean and comfortable. My only criticism, and thus has happened before, is that the seals un the shower room need to be either cleaned or changed in a regular basis as they are mouldy and therefore not very hygienic. Pkease see picture.
The other criticism is no shower cap or body lotion are included in the price if the room which was £220.00 for one nights stay

Gorgeous hotel. Really lovely. Room was gorgeous, very comfortable, lovely bathroom. Staff friendly and helpful.

The hotel was great with lovely helpful and welcoming staff. Rooms were good. The location is ideal for visiting the town. We were disappointed that, although we booked half board, everything on the menu had either a supplement or additional charge for fries or other usual accompaniments. The menu was limited. We had shnitzel but had to pay £4.95 per portion for fries to accompany it as it only came with leaves etc. In addition to that, there was a service charge of £8.00. Therefore, a charge of £17 extra although we had already paid for half board. I can’t see anywhere on the booking where this was explained. This trip was a gift for our anniversary but the charges left a sour taste. However, I would stay here again but not use the bistro for our evening meal as there are cheaper and better places in town. Breakfast was fine.

Good food and service. Great hotel chain we stay in them all over the UK. Paid for dinner bed breakfast but menu choice very limited and Suppliment cost for food we thought too expensive. Enjoyable stay. Would recommend

Convenient location In Montpelier. We had a super king deluxe and the room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. Only minor point is that it is a little dark and the full length mirror should be on a wall with a plug so anyone using hairdryer or straighteners don’t have to stretch lead across the doorway.
The staff at reception, bar and restaurant were all really friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and everything we had was good
I would definitely stay again

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, helpful staff.

Our 2nd time at this hotel and it didn’t disappoint. Great location, good rooms and service. Luxury feel.
4.3
Beautiful hotel with an amazing team and service!
The gentleman on reception was so helpful, he spent lots of times going through places to see and things to do in Cheltenham. A great first impression of the hotel!
4.3
The hotel overall was very good, and staff were generally very helpful. Although scope for little improvements.
We took a late breakfast for practical reasons and whilst we were down for around 9:30, approaching 10, things were being cleared away and coffee saucers for eg not replenished.
The room was spotless and as per photos. Bathroom was exceptional. But the garden and seating area didn’t look at all cared for and the tables were not cleaned for the duration of our visit.

My wife and I stayed two nights in the De Trafford suite celebrating our wedding anniversary. Ben in reception was very warm and helpful, gave us a complimentary drink, a map and explained the local area. The room was exceptional, very clean and airy with a huge and very comfortable bed. The air conditioning was much appreciated as the weather was very hot. The cooked breakfast was excellent although the continental range was somewhat limited, but this was fine as what was available was very good quality. George in the restaurant was incredibly polite and efficient and always had a sunny smile for the guests. The hotel is in a very quiet and attractive area while still only being a 10 minute walk from town.

The decor in this hotel is traditional and very tasteful. The room was a good size. The odd things is that there is a bathtub in the bedroom, in front of the window. Why I don't know as there is a very good sized shower area in the bathroom. There was an expresso machine, and a kettle for tea/coffee, and biscuits and chocolate. Very nice. I only wish the lighting was better, in the bathroom and by a mirror (for applying makeup). Also I wish there had been a sheet --the duvet is nice but in summer it was too much, but there was no light coverlet or sheet. There were many electrical outlets which was much appreciated.

We received excellent service from the staff and enjoyed a lovely stay in a beautiful suite. We would definitely come back to stay at this hotel again next time we visit the area.

Great hotel

Breakfast was expensive and poor quality. I had a very dull and juat about warmed up eggs benedict. The coffee machine was broken and delays being served (only one staff member in duty)... expensive overall and seems poorly managed. The rooms are not numbered but rather given pretentious names, making finding your room onerous. That should change.
4.3
We had no problems with the check-in or bedroom.
Breakfast was disappointing

I like the style of this hotel and those in the chain. It's modern and roomy. The very best thing by far is the staff. Very efficient and charming, so that any arrangements/requests are carried out perfectly. I would warn guests to book dinners in advance, do not assume availability.

Ben checked us in, super friendly and helpful.
The hotel is conveniently located and super nice, we will definitely be staying again

exceptional room stay and service- highly recoomend it

Warm welcome from reception on arrival. We parked in the rear car park for £10 extra.
The hotel is huge with a warren of corridors. We were a party of 3, myself & my husband and we were travelling with our grown-up son. I had booked two ‘classic’ rooms therefore it was slightly odd to get our rooms only to discover that my son had been allocated the room with the super king bed and we got given a room with a standard double bed! Luckily we swapped. Just something to be aware of!
Rooms had recently been decorated to high standard. The beds were super comfy and whilst the bathroom was rather small it ticked all the boxes for what we needed for a one night stay. We had booked an inclusive breakfast rate which offered good value for money. Good continental selection, help yourself, and then a menu was offered with one hot dish per person. The hot breakfast was very nice too.
Overall a great stay at a great price.

Really comfy hotel, beautifully presented, with great service.

Such lovely staff and great food. The winter stay package is excellent value.

Stayed overnight for a birthday party elsewhere in Cheltenham in a lower category room. It was smallish but nicely furnished with a huge comfy bed and cosy duvet. Very comfortable with effective heating (unlike the George nearby where we stayed same time last year and froze in our room). The cooked breakfast was good. After we left my partner discovered he didn’t have his phone and just as I began ringing everywhere we’d been to see if it had been found, I received a call from reception to say the maid had just run downstairs with it in the Hope of catching us before we left. We were able to go back and pick it up. Phew… great service. Thank you Hotel du Vin staff!!!

A very comfortable stay. The staff friendly and helpful. We stay here every time we are in Cheltenham because we know we are going to enjoy the stay and the food.

Excellent service & the rooms was very good value.

Loved my room and great location.

This was an overnight stay as part of a proposal. Fortunately she said yes and the stay here was the sugar on top.
I generally enjoyed the look and feel of this hotel with the bath in the bedroom and the dark wood or leather finishes that make up the theme.
The service was some of the best I have had at a hotel with Millie on reception offering fantastic service and helping us make the stay plesant.
We had a minor housekeeping issue that meant that we needed to change rooms, which Hakeem on the night shift took special care to find us a similar room and even one on the same side as quickly as possible. Although ive stayed here before this is the only time we've needed to change rooms and its a testimate to the service they provide how well it was handled.
They clearly have a good team and we'll be coming back in the near future, thank you all for making our day that little more special

Incredible place to stay, breakfast was brilliant, Ben on front desk could not have been more helpful. Hotel truly rescued what initially started as a bad weekend at a different hotel, can't recommend enough.
4.3
I had a noisy room - staff very helpful and moved me. Would certainly stay there again
4.3
Although the property was undergoing some renovations it was still very quiet. I love the location being central to everything in Cheltenham.
4.3
I'm sorry but my experience wasnt a good one.
The room ( Villia Maria ) was at the very back and top of the hotel in the attic with slanted ceilings ( I felt hidden away ) and had no working air conditioning..after a very hard day this was not what i needed..an absolute furnace..
I picked the hotel based on its brand reputation and it was far from the cheapest in Cheltenham and it badly disappointed..Albeit I only booked a classic room but i would have expected it to be clean, with upto date furnishings ( everything was a bit chipped and battered) and to have working air-condition.. these things are the basics.. the staff knew about the problem but hadn't fixed it.
The building itself is beautiful but the hotel rooms are awkwardly located through a labyrinth of staircases..at a few points you have to go up stairs just to then go down again and up again...
Far from relaxing and a complete let down.. I enquired about room upgrades as I was so unhappy and uncomfortable ( at whatever cost ) and was offered nothing.
As an ex travel agent of 15 years I know quality and an excellent experience when I see it.. and this just wasnt...

We have stayed here before some years ago. Location is excellent as is the breakfast. Few issues with our newly refurbished room but came to an agreement over rate charged.
4.3
Fabulous staff, but the best thing was the food. Hache frite was beautiful with a lovely salad and perfect skinny chips. Brekkie was sublime-avo on toast with poached eggs and a yasty tomato and onion salad. Yum.
4.3
This is a hotel that is relying on former glory. The room was a little tired, although very clean. A lot of the services that Hotel du Vin provided prior to covid haven’t really returned - nothing in the mini bar, for example.
The bar closed at 9.45 without any communication from the staff even though we were sitting having a drink.
4.3
We liked the building & location. We didn't like the fact that due to recent renovations, half the hotel had water turned off, including our room, and the receptionist needed to access our room with his key as the internet/server was down & he couldn't say when it would be reconnected. We left the hotel immediately.
4.3
A lovely hotel situated close to the centre of Cheltenham. The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. There was some refurbishment work going on in the hotel but this wasn’t detrimental to our stay in any way with it being well managed. Parking is limited but £10 for on-street parking outside was fair and convenient. The room was well presented and clean. A very enjoyable stay.
4.3
Lovely decorated and features,Room was large and clean. The sofas and carpet in longe area needed a good clean/hoover.Also inside the bedroom wardrobe was where the fridge and Milk/coffee/tea kept was too warm the milk was off.Staff was friendly, good location.

£6 for 10 olives!!
Bathroom was VERY tired; broken toilet roll holder, bath plug and cracked washbasin.
Wine list limited - for a Hotel du VIN !!!
Oregon Pinot Noir given whereas was New Zealand on the menu.
Not up to the standard that the chain used to offer

Customer service levels are off the chart here - exceptional service.

Great staff and hotel

The beautiful hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Cheltenham, close to fabulous shops, cafes and restaurants. The hotel projects a welcoming English country house feel to it with a comfortable bar & lounge area to relax in. We upgraded to a suite that had a huge four poster bed, two huge rain showers and two roll top baths! I would really recommend a stay at this hotel and will be returning again as we were so pleased with it.
