Beautiful property right beside one of Jamaica’s landmark sites, Blue Lagoon. View of the ocean, comfortable beds, clean property and hospitable hosts. Port Antonio is a short distance drive for lunch/dinner. Hot water showers, complimentary breakfast (which was delcious) and overall, an excellent stay.

Decent property.

The advertising for the property is misleading. There’s no pool, all the pictures listed as activities are for other properties which attract additional cost. We left with bedbug bites and the place has roaches. The staff are nice but this is nothing but an overpriced bnb. I understand things might be slow but the owners need to invest in upgrading the villa and doing more routine cleaning.

Great location next to Blue lagoon with free access anytime. Older style villa with lots of character. Room was clean, a bit tight but lots of space to sit around the building with beautiful ocean views. Beds were comfy and sheets soft and comfortable. Good snorkelling outside the lagoon into seawater. Lots of fish and turtles. Staff were very nice and breakfast was good with choice between american or jamaican. Only downfall at the time of stay was construction noises from building villas below on seashore.

Our family stayed for six days and every day spent there was wonderful. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the view from the property was beautiful. Noel was very helpful along with the ladies that worked there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property was very close to the Blue Lagoon, and Frenchman’s cove beach is a must see. Will definitely be staying here again, we miss it already.

There is NO security for vehicles at this property. We had to park up on the highway and sure enough, our car, and another guest’s car were broken into the first night we (and they) stayed at Moon San. Both rental cars had a window broken and the car batteries were stolen. The rental companies did well with us, swapping out the damaged car for another one, but we felt it didn’t make sense to park up by the highway the next night, which is the only option at Moon San, so we found another place to stay that provided secure parking. The owner of Moon San promised to refund our money for the three nights we had booked but didn’t stay there. I sent a message to him through Expedia, but have not heard back. Worse, I couldn’t find any place on the Expedia website where I could present my case, nor could I get through to a real human on the Expedia help line. I prefer not to leave a negative review of the property (although our experience was negative), nor of Expedia, but I don’t see any way to move this situation forward to get my promised refund.

I booked this trip weeks before going to Jamaica. I booked for three nights and only stayed one of the three nights. We arrived on August 25th in the night. The only reason why we spend one night there was that we arrived very late at 10.30PM. I immediately went to the guy which owns the property and let him know we are leaving in the morning. I also told him why, that it is filthy, smelly, dirty, the AC doesnt work, the floors are dirty, no clean towels, the linens were dirty, a refrigerator in the room thats not working. They changed the room for the night but it didnt make it any better. It was also extremely dirty. The fan in the room looks like it havent been cleaned in two decades. The paint is cracked and chipped all over. A complete run down, which the lady who works there admits its run down but the little old guy who owns the property she mentioned he doesnt want to fix it. In all my years of traveling I must admit, this is the worst. We immediately booked for another hotel in the town to spend the other two nights, which was super great. I also reached out to expedia before leaving the property since I had booked for three nights for them to process my refund, which after they called moon san villa and confirmed I was leaving, my refund was immediately issued. The only thing good about this property was the breakfast and the view, but I promise you, you would be miserable if you ever booked to stay there. Stay away!!! You're welcome.

The ladies in the morning were very pleasant and the breakfast was delicious. The area has a water issue but Nick ensured we had enough during our stay.

Donna, Nick, Greg, all the staff are super friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast is wonderful, sitting overlooking the lagoon.
The Blue Lagoon was closed; making our private swim extra special, as we had the whole lagoon to ourselves!
Ignore anyone who tells you that you are trespassing or to watch out for the crocodile!? Apparently government spin.
The government have shut the lagoon for "improvements," there is much scepticism that local politicians, who own large waterfront villas there, want the lagoon to be sold to a resort like Sandals. The area will then become private, exclusive and expensive.
The road is currently being improved, so rather difficult to negotiate and the piped water has been cut off, so supplied by tanker. Consequently the water pressure in the shower was low..but still hot.
Please do stay here and support the local businesses, You will love the local character, the peace and quiet.
Frenchman's Cove beach is truly special and Winnifred's Beach, one of the few Jamaican beaches left with shacks and even a Ganja Cafe! Cynthia's food is out of this world. Do bring water shoes due to Sea Eggs aka Sea Urchins.

Staff is very friendly. Food was great. Gregg , Nick and theKitchen Staff made us feel at home. Dinner is not seeved at Moon San Villa since COVID started. Blue Laggoon has been closed for 6 month. Nearest restaurant is approximately 1 mile away. You will need to have transportation.. There is another Villa in front of Moon San and no access to the beach . The scenery of the Cove is great and our stay was relaxing, quiet and comfortable

Nick (staff member) was amazing. Went above n beyond! Listing is very deceiving! Lagoon is closed, no real access. Wasn’t made aware until there. If known would have cancelled! No boat ride that was included as lagoon is closed! Manager was very nonchalant about it! Room was right by the main gate, very noisy at night with guests banging the barred gate going in n out. Wouldn’t stay there again! Wouldn’t recommend

This antiquarian-style villa has a peaceful atmosphere and laid-back vibe. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The view of the bay is nice and is pretty relaxing with the sound of the waves, especially in the early morning. Unfortunately, the Blue Lagoon was closed when we visited, but we do plan to visit again. Thanks for the reset!

The villa has a very relaxed vibe, amazing people and amazing view over the blue lagoon's bay area.
Breakfast was excellent and taxis are constantly driving by in case you need to get to Boston, Winifred or Frenchman Cove beaches that are just few minutes drive from the villa.
Nick and Donna from the villa are amazing people and were very helpful!
I recommend also to take a trip with Nick to a big waterfall in the jungle and experience the authentic country side vibe of Jamaica. Nick will keep you completely safe and guide you through everything, including dealing with the locals along your way. There are many more hikes that he can take you to in Port Antonio, but I only had time for that one and it was really an amazing experience!

Breakfast was great,NICK is Boss!! Close to blue lagoon and easy to access the main road. The boat ride was great, I wish you could add a swim the turtles feature.

The place was around construction, the photo for this site was deceiving as its on the side of a cliff and there is alot of stairs to climb, there is no parking anywhere. And they double charged us and ive been waiting for my refund for over a month.
8.0 / 10.0
Nice room, view and breakfast, but expensive for what you can find elsewhere on the shore. The Lagoon has no beach or real swimming area and rains clouded the lagoon waters so the turtles were not visible. The boat ride will take you to a nice little island with swimming and small beach. The property is across the street from the lagoon, which is accessible by boat dock but not much else. Pictures of lagoon and hotel need to be updated to reflect current circumstances. Kitchen access not available due to COVID. Daily housekeeping not available due to COVID. Staff and owner (on site) and friendly.

Best place to stay in Portie if you just need a room for a few nights.
It's very close to the water and the free boat tour makes it even better.
The staff are awesome and definitely make you feel welcome and at home.
We brought our puppy on this trip and they welcomed her. There isn't any real places for her to "go" on property as it's on the side of a hill with no grass. So kinda just had to deal with the roadside.
The only other small issues is that the water pressure isn't the greatest and it takes awhile for the water to get hot. Otherwise it's perfect.
I've stayed there before, and I'll stay there again!

They didn’t have the private beach as advertised, there was a broken ac unit leaking water and they gave the fridge that we were supposed to have to another guest. We spoke to the manager who offered to provide us a refund since we opted to stay elsewhere, but for the last five months, they have not responded to us and claimed they never knew of the issue. Don't bother.

Lovely villa with fabulous staff! Special thanks to Walton, Donna & Alecia who made us feel like family - boat ride and swimming on the lagoon, delicious Jamaican breakfast (complete with hummingbirds fluttering on the balcony!), FANTASTIC views of the impossibly beautiful Blue Lagoon. And Boston jerk center 10 mins away,...Frenchman’s Cove beach 5 min away. We didn’t want to leave!!We will be back.
We accidentally left some valuable items behind and the staff went above and beyond in finding the items, packaging them up, and ensuring their return — this was the icing on the “service” cake.👍

The staff are excellent, courteous, and very helpful. Walton is amazing. He helped us to navigate in town and made sure we were okay. Do not lose him as a staff member. He is very vital to your location. The breakfast was excellant. My jamaican breakfast was i didnt leave my home in Canada. My husband enjoyed his meals and did not have one complaint. Our boat ride around the coast was relaxing, informative and exciting.

The Blue Lagoon (Moon San location) was a very beautiful part of Jamaica. Sadly it has become rather a noisy "hustlers' haven". This was our only disappointment. Otherwise, a lovely place and stay.

A unique experience in a place that is relatively undiscovered in Jamaica. Miss Donna is the star of this show. Her daily breakfast and willingness to please is unmatched. The views are great. The location is near perfect. The area has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean and you don't have to deal with the tourist traps like you do in MoBay or Ocho Rios. I love this place and will be back.
