My stay at this property was absolutely fine for my needs as a solo traveller. All went very smooth from welcoming me and throughout my stay.
4.1
Basic budget hotel that was clean and comfortable. Amazing shower!
4.1
Not a fancy place, but fine if all you need is a place to sleep. Staff was absolutely wonderful. The place is well maintained and clean; in fact I'd say the paint was recent and the bathroom had been renovated fairly recently. About a 10 minute walk to Portsmouth's many waterfront attractions. Also, there's a Tesco Express nearby for snacks, etc.
There's what appears to be a nice restaurant next door, although we didn't try it. There's three parking places behind the inn for an extra 15 pounds per day. Street parking is 13, so the convenience is well worth the extra. All in all, I would definitely recommend for anyone who doesn't need a luxury hotel.
4.1
Very nice clean hotel close to the sea
close to the High Street
very nice and comprehensive service at the reception
I highly recommend and I will definitely come back
4.1
Great location our purposes (Uni graduation) and very good value for money. No frills, but clean, secure and welcoming.
4.1
Great location in great Portsmouth. Great Asian restaurant very close by,
Easy living.
4.1
The room was clean, comfy, affordable, and safe.
The chap who ran the hotel was a phenomenon; friendly, assuring, reassuring, discreet, and fab with his pre stay communication.
Parking was ok for me as I have a blue badge. Otherwise it'd still be affordable; it's street parking on a meter
There is a Vietnamese street food restaurant about two minutes walk away which was absolutely brilliant.
We stayed there overnight as it is fairly close to Goodwood, I'm just about to book it again for next year
4.1
Very basic, but very cheap too

Had the basement family room. Pollution from the road was coming in through the gaps in a random door which was locked off. Had someone sitting on the stairs outside our window smoking which we could smell in the room. The noise from the people above was absolutely disgusting and management did nothing to resolve it. I had to sleep with my headphones on and volume full blast. Pillows were rock hard, the decor was outdated. Toilet cistern lid was cracked, no extractor fan, the noise coming from the next doors taps was loud enough to wake you up. The only plug socket in the room was barely attached to the wall.
Only pros were the room was clean and good water pressure in the shower.

Andrew was a very lovely host and would stay here again :)

Great location, easy walk to front & town amenities
4.1
This is , as it is called, a budget hotel . Its clean , safe and has good sized rooms with comfortable beds, a hot showe and tea and coffee. The communication was excellent, the check in friendly , polite and helpful and i was surprised at how quiet it was at night being on a busy road. There are no frills here but thats fine for me . My only wish was that the curtains kept out more light , but that's a personal preference. Good value for money. I will book again.

Spotlessly clean bed and bathroom. Furnishings a little basic. Andrew was an attentive host and we were grateful for the use of your parking space. Very convenient location for Portsmouth old town .

We were given a warm welcome by Andrew on reception. Very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. Would stay here again.

Was good, staff was friendly, was relatively quiet, however I did go with the expectation of a double bed however it was just two single beds pushed together which I had to keep pushing back together during the night as I kept falling down the middle. I did end up checking out a day early as this was frustrating and wasn't able to get a whole night sleep.

Very hostel-like in university neighborhood. Pretty area.

For the amount I paid, I couldn’t really complain. It was cheap and cheerful, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the TV worked. There was WiFi available although I didn’t use it. I would have liked a desk to work at, and a few more sockets but you get what you pay for.
4.1
A decent and nice place to stay in. Will definitely visit again

Everything was fine but if you are talking to your friend or partner so you cant speak loudly because the sound proofing isnt ok

Excellent service from the proprietor

Do not be put off by the deposit and ID policy, I received the very warm welcome from the staff that I met, I liked their policy in and around the hotel regarding noise and entering and leaving the property.
The room was a nice size en-suite, it had ample tea and coffee in the room and also body shower wash in the bathroom.
It was very clean and quiet in and around the property, and very easy to get to from the rail station, i would definitely stay here again!!!

Very clean and comfortable. Location is just minutes away from city centre

From the very beginning our booking was full of support from Adrian who make sure that my family and my little daughter would have comfortable stay. I cannot rate higher ( shame ) as room was very clean , everything was well set for us. Adrian welcome us on our arriver and let us know about all important things. For I think big comfort when you travel with young kids is good to know that is also microwave available to warm up food for baby( not only - but for us this worked just perfectly) So if you would like to save money on food while travelling this is the great place to stay. Thank you and we would definitely come back there.

Andrew and his team were always available for any requests or advice i may have wanted to make or ask.And always responded quickly, positively and could not possibly have been more helpful and polite had they tried. The room was serviced efficiently daily and i found the peace and tranquility the stay offered me to be exactly what i had been looking for.My initial stay impressed me and gave me that "Home from Home" feeling without any of the stresses and strains,so much so that i extended my stay twice. The en suite room was clean, comfortable, and offered all i needed.Smart TV,Good Wifi,Power shower, fresh towelling and tea's/Coffee's daily. And with Andrew and all his team always going that extra mile with any matter, enquiry or request i made.I cannot possibly speak any more highly of my stay and would certainly recommend this place in a heartbeat to my family and friends.

Cheep and very cheerful. Perfect place to spend a night. Clean and warm, private amenities with good strong shower.
Perfect for the guildhall and gunwhalf.

Basic facilities but very clean. Friendly staff

Friendly owner. Room clean and tidy. Very convenient for Southsea pubs and restaurants
4.1
Clean, adequate for our 1 night stay, however we booked a twin room but got a double.. which was no good because my friend had a hip replacement so twin beds would have been much better . So a bit uncomfortable squashed in a double bed
4.1
Property was clean. There was no drinks and water. Washrooms had no exhaust fan and room was having no ventilation and heating arrangements. There was no microwave and cutlery for food. Otherwise all was well. Thanks
4.1
As advertised, this is is very much a no frills hotel. No breakfast, but tea/coffee making kit in the rooms.
Importantly, the hotel is very clean and the rooms have clearly been recently renovated. The bed was very comfortable.
Our room was in the rear of the basement and was therefore very quiet, but the view from the window into the light well wasn't pleasant. The arrival experience can be a bit off-putting - no lobby, just a long corridor - and should be improved to offer a more welcoming feel; this is probably not possible, though, given the age/style of building. Good sense of security, even though there's few staff. Good location, easy walking to Victorious festival or into the town centre.
4.1
The contact # on the signs on the inside of the room is not working. This needs to be addressed as there is no way of contacting management in case of anything, unless its during check-in times.
4.1
One night room for three friends. Great location for travel to IoW ferry the following day, short walk to old town where there’s a great pub for food n drink, also a short walk to other bars nearer the town centre. Everything was good although and I’m not marking down for this… the shower was extremely hot!!
