Perfect location for our first night in Iceland (late flight). Clean, quiet and wonderful walking trails along the harbor.

A very convenient hotel stay after a delayed airline arrival in KEF. Very comfortable room, smaller bathroom and sink but totally functional, only issue was the very slow drain in the shower. Very quaint location with a great view of the working harbor from the restaurant (which has a pleasant breakfast and wonderful bread!!). Helpful staff as well,

Staff was friendly and room was clean. Unfortunately it wasn’t as quiet as we would have liked.

Excellent hotel for the airport. Bed was very comfortable and room ensuite. Early check-in very helpful. Power and USB Points in bedroom. Check-in experience was poor. I am a pensioner and had to carry a heavy suitcase upstairs as I was told that the lift was broken. Shower was hopeless as its flooded the bathroom.

The room was freezing cold. Both windows were open when arriving and heater was off. After closing the windows and turning the heater on, the room stayed sfreezing the whole night. Obly in the morning was it warm enough. Since bathroom had no heater, it was freezing cold also in the morning which meant it was impossible to take a shower. Will never stay here again.

Hotel on harbor. Nice view of harbor from room. Great resturant in hotel! Great service at checkin and resturant. Parking is very close. Elevator was unique.

We have stayed here previously and were super impressed by the family staff, excellent food and the closeness to the airport. A huge plus was the free transport to the airport. This time our checkin was delayed to 4 pm when the sign behind the desk says 2:00pm and now there’s no shuttle to airport! This may affect our next booking with them! The food was exceptional, expensive, yes, but even their free breakfast was delicious. They offer breakfast even at 4:00 am to accommodate early flights. I wish they offered gluten free bread but that is the only negative thing I can state about their meal service. Our rooms overlooked the bay which was delightful.

My flight into Iceland was delayed by quite a long time so my time at Hotel Duus was cut a lot shorter than I was hoping for.
What I was able to glean about the hotel though, was that the place is very close to Keflavik airport, is very easy to find and is very clean.
Unfortunately, I was only here for the evening but everything was clean, the gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful in checking in at a very late hour and getting a taxi back to the airport at a pretty early time.
If I were to come back to Keflavik and need to stay the evening at somewhere close to the airport and easy to find, I would definitely come back.

Very clean, great spot for convenience. Having a full kitchen was amazing. Shared bath and toilet felt a little awkward, but we rarely saw anyone else, and never had to wait.

I think this is a great hotel for one night when you need a close stay to the hotel, but wouldn't want to stay here longer than that. It was very noisy with people leaving early in the morning for early flights. The room was great though.

Great hotel room clean and spacious. I stayed two nights. The decor was nice and updated.

I would give this Hotel 5 stars, But the hot water in the bathroom sink dripped out, Absolutely no pressure. No tissue in room where as much as I paid for the room should have supplied it. Both the night clerk and day clerk were friendly, But I wouldn’t stay here again

Our flight was delayed so we got to the hotel after 11pm. Their door was not locked yet so there was people at the front desk to check us in and they were friendly.
What we liked about the hotel:
- the shower water pressure was very good.
- bed linen looked clean
- hardwood floor
What we did not like:
- room was quite small, with a tiny wash sink right in the room (not in the bathroom)
- there were two bath towels, both dark colored and very old and stiff. I used my own disposable towel.
- the hotel front entrance was small and did not look clean and welcoming
- there was only cold buffet breakfast
By the US standard I felt the hotel is like a 2-star motel. It was a disappointing experience especially as our first hotel after landing.

Great place to stay! Roomy and comfortable.

My pillow had a hair on it and the bathroom amenities seemed to have been used. The room seemed to have been cleaned, just not thoroughly

They helped connect us to a taxi since we were unable to find one online and helped microwave some food we had to eat up before we left Iceland.

It is what it is - It’s a place to sleep near the airport. It’s awful looking (like walking into a funeral home) and the rooms are really just dorms. Mismatched linen on beds and yes there’s almost never anyone at the “front desk”. So all that is true. But it was clean, the shower was hot and you could walk to the main area in KEF plus be at the airport in 8 mins (no shuttle and it’s 4000 ISK one way by taxi which is simply gouging). The service was cordial and friendly when available. The beds were comfy.
Would I stay here again? No. But it’s not the worst place I’ve seen. In fact if they spruced up the front and gave everyone breakfast, they’d probably get more business and better reviews.

Recommend Hotel Duss!
Was better than I expected!
Room was big and clean
Staff was quick and nice

Great location, staff were great at accommodating our request to drop luggage off before check-in, scheduling an early morning taxi to the airport was a breeze, room was clean.

Very comfortable, well-situated hotel perfect for overnight stay before flying the next morning. Basic but all you really need.

Responses to questions through the Expedia app was bad and it is listed as having a 1 way airport transfer which is false.
The front desk attendant did help us set up with an early morning transport to the airport which was appreciated.
Continental breakfast offered was great.
Room was clean but bathroom shower drain needed work as shower style was such that entire floor of bathroom would cover in water rather than just the shower area.
We would have appreciated better communication from the staff overall.

The room only had 2 worn bath towels. No hand towels. Very small room with wash sink by bed. Beds had worn comforters. Pillows, were child size. Holes in wall.

I had previously stayed at Hotel Duus a couple of years ago and had a good experience which is why I stayed again. I won’t be back a third time.
It started off great with a helpful night clerk who assisted me with taking my bag downstairs. I have mobility issues which is why I try to book hotels with an elevator, but my room was in the basement this time, and the elevator didn’t go to the basement. In situations like these, I’ll put my items that I need for the night into a much smaller shoulder bag that I can handle on stairs. The clerk assured me that the morning clerk would be happy to bring my back up the stairs, so I went ahead with the bigger bag.
When it came time for me to leave, no one was at the front desk, and when I called the phone number displayed at the front desk for such a situation, it sounded like I woke someone up. When I asked about help with my bag, I was told I needed to handle it myself. The man then said the morning person was sick, but that information only came after I pushed back about the night clerk stating somebody would be able to help me bring the bag up the stairs. As a result, I ended up tweaking my bad right knee, which hampered my ability to see sites in Barcelona.
As a solo, older, female traveler, I choose my accommodations carefully, and I can no longer recommend Hotel Duus, which is sad.
In addition to the above, there was only one, half-size, very uncomfortable pillow in the room.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff.

Check in late at night but the check in process was very smooth. As I only stayed one night and checked out early in the morning to catch flight, so didn’t have time to explore too much of the facilities around. The room is big and clean, very cozy setting, and can see the volcano eruption from the balcony, which was a big plus and very cool! It was a good stay!

Hotel staff same as restaurant staff. No one at reception desk.

Great staff and service. Clean. Great walking area next to the ocean. Fantastic restaurant and meals.
Transportation excellent.

Bathroom door could not be shut at all, there was mold along the bottom edge of the shower glass, toilet seat did not align with the bowl, the room was WAY smaller than listed, "marina view" could not be seen from the tiny window (you get the parking lot view if you're placed in a basement room), "heating" advertised in the listing means a portable heater that you have to turn on yourself, if placed in the basement floor, you will hear footsteps and chair scrapes from the floor above you at 4 am (probably the restaurant).
As well, the photos of the hotel—both interior and exterior—are NOT reflective of reality. Photoshop must have been used here to enhance the appearance. Even the paint color of the exterior is not the same! I was deeply disappointed and reached out to Expedia to follow up, but the hotel refused to issue a refund. Urging Expedia to investigate the property, as it does NOT meet the 9.0 rating it currently has. I'm flabbergasted at the high rating. This was the worst stay during my 13-day trip in Iceland and I'd stayed at 8 different accommodations.
The only pro from the stay is that they permitted an extra guest for the single room at no additional cost.

Good hotel, Nothing special but closed to airport

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. But the location is a little far and the traffic is not very convenient.

Location is excellent for the airport and the Blue Lagoon. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding!

Fun, convenient home like hotel near multiple great food options and walkable tourist attractions. It was definitely “well loved” but also clean with kind, attentive staff. We would definitely stay again.

The Hotel reception area was not easy to find. You have to enter on the restaurant side. There was no staff at check-in, someone from the restaurant came to check us in. Facilities are dated. Towels very old.

Loved the location, staff, and rooms. Very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Some confusion in check out time and airport transfer. Expedia said 12 pm check out and the property said 11am. Expedia said free one way airport transfer. The property said they no longer have that option and offered to call a taxi. Overall, we will return in the future better prepared for check out and airport transfers.

Our room had a nice view and was decent size but the decor is outdated, balcony had completely rusted broken chairs with broken pieces still lying around, seemed unkept. The restaurant and reception staff were not courteous.

When I booked it said it had a free shuttle to airport does not. Cost me $50 each way for taxi so an extra $100 on top of cost of accommodation which was not cheap, should have stayed in Reykjavik where I was at a great hotel City Centre Hotel. Hotel Duus is very shabby, towels were threadbare on edges, restaurant prices expensive and no other options close.

The woman (sylvia) at the reception was very unfriendly, with no patience to explain anything. Didn't provide any info and was very short with her responses. TV did not work. When spoke to other couples, one said their TV did not work and another said their room had a leak.Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Bathroom was tiny with the smallest sink possible, no place even to put toothbrush.
