Fabulous as always! One of my favorite places to stay!

PERFECT location. The "character" was spot on for why we were in Salam. Lots of historic charm and character. But if you're looking for updated comfort this isn't your hotel. Think peeling wallpaper, old carpet, tile and grout and small spaces.

This is my second time staying at the Hawthorne Hotel and it was amazing. The staff are so kind and helpful. The rooms are great (REALLY love the pillows!!). The shower is hot and powerful. The best part is it is in the heart of everything. You can walk everywhere. I will be back, but hopefully it won't be 18 years between visits this time.

We had a great time at this hotel! It’s a beautiful hotel that has 2 restaurants, The Tavern and Nathaniel’s, and a gift shop. We only ate at The Tavern and it was delicious! Our room was cute and had everything we needed for our stay. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and professional. It’s supposed to be haunted but we didn’t see or feel anything during our stay. Overall, I would definitely choose to stay at the Hawthorne Hotel again in the future.

Walking distance to all tourist spots

The amenities and the aesthetic alone completed our trip to Salem. In the heart of everything, but also not right on the busy streets. Next to “the murder house” if you’re into spookiness. We found out after seeing this house that our hotel and our floor, 6, are haunted, and boy oh boy was it.
I experienced two happenings in one evening on our one night stay …
Besides that, we enjoyed the historic lobby and the quaint Tavern, the Tavern staff was absolutely lovely. The Tavern was packed and we just wanted coffee and dessert, the manager served us himself in the lobby. So so nice. We came back for a night cap and ghost stories.
Complimentary coffee and apple cider hit the spot everytime as well. Will 100% be staying here on my next visit.
Even the Ferry Shuttle Trolly dropped us off at the hotel on our way! So so kind

Hotel is in a perfect location & within walking distance of everything. Beds were comfortable and the bedding was amazing. Full closet. Bathroom was kind of small and there is no microwave or fridge in the room but, if you call the front desk they will have guest services bring a mini fridge to you. Very Victorian and beautiful. The hotel restaurants are amazing. We will definitely stay here again.

Employees were so nice and let me check in early to my room. The restaurant inside the hotel was delicious and staff were extremely nice, brought my dog some water. The parking was convenient and there was a huge park right across the street to walk dogs. I had a wonderful experience in Salem as it was and everyone was so kind to my service dog and me. Thank you

Hotel is in the perfect location so that I could walk everywhere. The staff were super friendly and helpful when I had questions. I love the old mailbox and totally used it to mail postcards! Breakfast was good, but I must say the coffee is not great. I don’t know why, it’s just not. Love the afternoon lemonade and the lobby is beautiful. Would love to come back someday.

Wonderful historic hotel! Kind staff and a few minute walk to everything downtown. Delicious food on site

Loved our stay! Everything about the room and hotel was clean and comfortable. Only flaw is nowhere to fill a refillable water bottle. I don’t think adding a water bottle filling station near the lobby restrooms would take away from the historic space and could help them be a little more eco friendly. It is 2024

What a lovely gem in the heart of Salem. Beautiful decor in the lobby and an amazing front desk staff. There was some work being done that created some annoying noise and triggered a morning fire alarm/evacuation, but that didn't take away from our fun visit. The room was immaculate and very comfortable.

My boyfriend and I came from out of state to visit Salem for the week and we had a very enjoyable time! It was a very pleasant experience, room service was professional. They made our bed and provided fresh towels every day. The only aspect I found weird was the closet shower. I was under the impression that it was a normal sized shower- it was not! But, the room was quite beautiful. Overall 4/5!

Hôtel is very charming but our room was less than expected considering this is our second time and unfortunately this room did not mesure up. Shower was not even in the bathroom it was across the hall from bathroom and view of the roof and mechanical equipment was not what I was expecting given I book a deluxe room
