Very basic

The window and view was huge!

The window sills were so dusty and had cobwebs. Aircon didn't work so no heater.

Overall it was a great location and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We were not informed about the steps we had to climb to get to our room. My friend has dicky knees. We found the meals were too large. Unfortunately, while tasty we were unable to eat it all.

Fulfilled our needs in this remote spot.

Location was perfect for trip on the West Coast Wilderness Railway. We were able to get a great evening meal at the restaurant. Staff were helpful when heater wouldn't work.

A terrible experience

Did not have breakfast there

We did not like having no hot water in our shower or basin. We also did not like having any heating when we arrived. Only after staff found circuit breaker tripped, all of this could have been checked by room staff ( cleaners ) when room is made up. This was the worst stay from our trip around Tassie will not be recommending to any friends.

The updated rooms were a pleasant surprise as the outside was very dated. Very comfortable for our 1 night stay.

The accommodation is old and quirky a few things didn't work or broken but it was clean, we had a family room which was spacious. Linen was hotel quality and bed we comfortable. Toiletries supplied. Location in easy right a the top of town so easy to explore from. Parking outside your room. Pub style meal was nice in the adjoining front bistro. Even with the pub (nicely decorated) at the front, the rooms were quiet of an evening.

Check in was a bit difficult we had to hunt around for a staff member. Mini fridge in room was noisy. Some light switches were broken. Ripped curtains. You can tell the owner is in the middle of making improvements to the aesthetics of the property.

Had lost our booking although we received a confirmation through booking.com. They had us for the following day. Were very unhelpful in trying to help. Manager was not interested at all, he kept drinking with the locals. We managed to find rooms elsewhere

With a bit of work on the place, this pub could be such an amazing place to stay. Location is great!

Nice and close to everything. The food available from the pub was also excellent. The staff did a great job with the limited and aged resources they had, all very friendly and very helpful. Bed was clean and comfortable and room was a good size with plenty of seating as well. View out the window was stunning.

Very noisy, could hear everyone using the stairs, talking inside or outside of their rooms and people leaving for work at 4:45 am. Room was run down, carpet, walls dirty and the shower smelt of body odour. Also both nights I had flying ant infestations in the room. Toilet / shower exhaust fan very noisy and letting in bugs. Some of the lights didn't work.

Disappointing

I know we had the budget room, (my mother and i) but the door didn't lock unless you lift the door up, the shower door was broken, I had screwdrivers in my car so I fixed it, and there were NO curtains? Found 1 curtain so hung it up, had a blanket in my car so used it for the other side, great location, just needs a little maintenance and attention to detail.

No frills accommodation in Queenstown.

The location was good.

The curtains were broken and the air conditioning didn’t work. The staff were clearly under pressure doing the best they could with the resources they had, but this place needs an injection of money and love.

centrally located. car park directly outside your room for easy access to get out fast as you came.

stink. cigarettes smell was so strong. we brought our own air freshener. dinner was a disaster Waited over and hour and half that’s 1hr 40 min to be served dinner from time of order. 3 cocktails I asked for could not be made due to missing ingredients. omg it’s a pub.

good value for the money

the property is very good value for what you pay. the tv is modern, the staff are helpful. There was a fridge. Plenty of parking. The hotel made us steak sandwiches for a takeaway lunch very quickly. The food was good. Handy location.

The room is dated from the 1970s, the carpet, bed and tv look new but that's about it. but considering how cheap it is, can't complain.
