A grandma, 2 adult children and 2 teenage boys found just what we needed - space and relaxation in a wonderfully clean environment. The host made sure everything was available and easy to find.
Loved it!

Very clean and in the heart of Chesterton. Walked to everything. Charming eclectic historic home with everything you need and lots of personal touches by the owner who thought of everything. Earplugs for the trains, but that’s the wonderful thing about Chesterton is hearing the trains. Also, snacks to get you started and anything you may have forgotten like a toothbrush is there for you. We will return, no doubts about it.

Needed a place to stay to experience the dunes and beaches of northern Indiana this place did the trick!
10.0 / 10.0
The property was as listed and well kept. Check in was hassle free and location was perfect for us as we were visiting the dunes for the beach and hiking trails. The whole family came and appreciated that there were a few games to play, a private outdoor space and needed items for cooking a meal. We enjoyed a morning walk to both Dunkin and Starbucks before heading out, would definitely recommend!

This was a quick and last minute stop for our group of 7 adults and 2 dogs as we were traveling home from a family vacation. We arrived fairly late and left the next morning so we unfortunately weren’t able to take advantage of much of the property. The kitchen appeared to be well stocked but we didn’t use any of it. The back yard was a nice space that was fenced in and included a fire pit and plenty of chairs. The main family room was not as pictured regarding furniture. There were two small sofas with slip covers (not three) so there was not enough seating for all of us but since we were not there long it wasn’t an issue for this stay. The main areas of the house seemed clean enough but there was a musty odor when we arrived and we noticed several odor absorbers had been placed throughout the main level so possibly an ongoing issue. The host reached out to let us know that the carpets had been washed right before our arrival which could have contributed to the smell. A few areas were in need of some deeper cleaning and repair but it didn’t effect our overall stay. The train noise was not an issue for our group. We were aware of it but it seemed fairly distant and did not wake any of us up. Great communication by the host on multiple platforms (through VRBO and a secondary site) so we felt well informed. For the price it fit our needs for a quick stay but we would likely not choose to return for an extended stay.

Three night stay for our family of 4. My 6 year old loved the bunk beds and a pack n play was provided for our 1 year old which was great. The house is close to train tracks and while you can hear the trains pretty consistently they were not excessively loud. The proximity to downtown Chesterton was fantastic and we loved being able to walk to so many things. The stairs to upstairs are very steep so not recommend for kids but there was plenty of downstairs space for them.

We had such a great time here! It was the perfect size with many more beds/places to sleep than we even needed. The kitchen was well-stocked, the backyard was great, and we loved being able to take our dog with us. We loved that we were within minutes of both grocery stores, places to eat, and the beach. The host always responded promptly and was extremely accommodating. We would definitely stay again!

There were 6 of us staying in Chesterton for a wedding. The house was very close to the reception which is why we selected it. It's also very convenient to the Dunes. For the most part the house was clean but according to our host his cleaning service let him down. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, still some garbage in the garbage cans and the grass had not been cut for weeks.
I'm also quite surprised that none of the other reviews mention the incredible amount of trains that go by in all hours of the night blowing their horns. The host actually has a supply of ear plugs in the house!
Check in process was good, wifi worked great and the kitchen had what we needed for our short stay (2 nights).
Overall this house served our purpose but was not my best VRBO experience.

My brother and I booked this place for several weeks in January for work training. The home was spacious and allowed us to have separate living spaces between the upstairs and downstairs with our own separate bathrooms. This home would definitely accommodate a larger family or two average size families staying together. The home was fully furnished with coffee maker, keurig, large refrigerator, silverware, coffee cups, plates, bowls and pots/pans for cooking. Home was furnished with lots of linens, pillows and beds. Beds were comfortable and supported by a solid frame. Trains came through the area at night but did not bother me, I always sleep with a fan. Soft ear plugs are provided if needed. The trains were quiet and did not produce too much noise. We enjoyed watching movies on the tv upstairs. The futon was comfortable and the television was a perfect size for the location. The home is older but with recent updates, I even enjoyed its quirky features. The only issue we ran into was that the water lines froze up while we were there and caused a water line to break under the house. Owner was very responsive and took care of the problem quickly. This was not a surprise given the age of the home and the extremely low temperatures that we experienced that week. Overall, I am very pleased with this place and would not hesitate to book again.

Nice little home that's been very recently updated and includes modern amenities. Local trains can be a bit load at night but the host included warning and supplied ear plugs that made sleeping peacefully no issue for our family. Walking distance to cute little "downtown" Chesterton shops and restaurants. Great communication with the owner who was flexible to our requests and eager to address anything we may have found issue with.

Cozy, clean, welcoming, and plenty of space for all 8 of us! We had a great time at a nearby beach and there was enough to do in the area that we stayed busy even on rainy days. It was pretty perfect for a group weekend getaway!

Eddi's place was great! Clean, spacious, right off the highway and close to the Dunes. Great backyard but to cold for us to enjoy... Would highly recommend!

We had a nice stay. The house had everything that we needed and more. We used the fire pit to roast marshmallows, the cute little diner down the street was a perfect walking distance for us and the kids to get breakfast and the house is close to Indiana dunes. We would definitely return.

We had 5 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of beds to sleep, including an extra one besides the futon upstairs. We enjoyed the firepit out back and there was plenty of chairs. Would be a nice area to add a table, as there is a popup tent back there also. It was a nice house, in a great location, with plenty of shopping places close by for groceries.

Your property was a God send, for me to spend time with my life long friend, as she walks through stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She loves the beach…so I was able to get her toes in the sand. Thank you so very much ♥️

This property is a recently remodeled home with a great neutral vibe. We had 7 adults and 3 children and plenty of space. The Beds were very comfortable, we were able to cook meals and eat at home, close enough to walk to the cute little town or around the corner for food, including Tacos, a diner, a cute icecream store, a hip little place serves amazing burgers and sandwiches, and other shops.
Nice back yard for a fire or just to relax. The home comes with almost everything you can think of that you would need. The host is very accommodating and returns messages right away.
This is a great home for a trip to the Dunes or area attractions.
The neighbors to the left like there Music and tend to be outside frequently but are harmless. They are busy train tracks near by but the horns are short and after a while you get used to them. I was never woke up by a train.
I would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

We booked this place at the last minute after my Dad unfortunately passed away. The property manager was very responsive and the place had plenty of towels, and basic necessities (paper towel, soap, etc) that I feel many VRBOs lack. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed sitting outside by the Firepit. The location is walkable to just about everything Chesterton has to offer.

Great place
Host has made every effort to include everything you need including snacks and a bottle of wine
House was great and we enjoyed the fire pit too
Cool little town with lots to do and the dunes were very close

We really enjoyed our stay! Within a 5 or 10 minute walk of restaurants, parks, and shops. 5 minutes from the European Market. 20 minutes away from West Beach. Previous reviews complained of neighbors being loud, we had no problems with the neighbors. Beds were clean and comfortable. There does seem to be an ant problem out back and there were a few that made their way into the house, but nothing major.

We found this home to be more than we even expected! It was clean, comfortable and well stocked kitchen supplies, plenty of towels and VERY comfortable beds. Nicely decorated in a Dunes theme. Nice front porch to sit out and fire pit in back. Location close to town and to the Indiana Dunes. Certainly would recommend it.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfy and there were many useful amenities in the kitchen. Our contact was friendly and quick to respond. We were a quick drive to many different beaches and attractions.
We did have three large flies to greet us in our rental that buzzed around the house the entire time. We could never seem to get rid of them. Also, the neighbor was incredibly noisy. This was not the home owners fault, but I wanted to make sure that other families are aware. We had to call the non-emergency hotline to complain and ten minutes after the police left they turned up the music again. It was so loud that we had to avoid the back half of the house. The owner of our rental was quick to try to help the situation and encouraged us to call the non-emergency hotline. There were ear plugs in the master bedroom so I assume they are aware that this is an issue. We did hear a train from time to time but it never bothered us.

Very nice property. Close to everything! Wine and snacks really appreciated. Only thing not great was loud music from neighbor, but white noise machine took care of that. Would stay again

Very nice property and it was perfect for our needs. We had 3 adults and were quite comfortable- although we did not use the upstairs bedroom. The location is awesome. You can walk to several downtown restaurants- HIGHLY recommend Octave Grill. Only 2 miles to the NP and just 3 miles to the State Park. The house was very clean, comfortable and very well outfitted. Mattress were great.

Host is very responsive and was wonderful to work with. House is vey clean with a nice patio and yard for kids to play in. Amenities were perfect. Within walking distance to local restaurants.
8.0 / 10.0
Overall, it was a good stay. The interior was a good size for our family of 4, and the house was close to the parks we were in town to visit. The fire pit and seating in the backyard was not quite as advertised, and I wish we would have known the house was so near frequently-used train tracks. Otherwise, it was a good house for our trip.

We loved this 3 BR-2 BA charming 2 story. It was immaculate and provided for all our needs for a get-away weekend! The gray, navy, and gold decor was beautiful and homey!
We were welcomed with a tray of goodies and a bottle of wine! Just one example of the many nice touches at this property.
