About this apartment rental
Right on the lake– you simply can't beat this location! The big beautiful windows throughout the apartment take full advantage of the incredible views you can get from my place. Let the sound of the waves rock you to sleep at night, then greet the day with an incredible sunrise as the rays peek out over the water each morning. Parking in the city can be tricky and is not guaranteed. There may be some street parking available nearby, but please be sure to read all posted signs before parking anywhere on the street to avoid being ticketed or towed. Very simply, please respect my home and my neighbors. Please read these rules carefully and take them seriously, failure to comply will result in forfeiture of your deposit and/or termination of your reservation without a refund.
1.) No parties or additional overnight guests without prior approval. Noise disturbances reported by neighbors or police are unacceptable.
2.) Additional visitors are not permitted at my property. Only registered guests may access the property for the entire duration of your stay.
3.) Please ensure you have left the premises and returned any keys issued to the designated location by the agreed upon check-out time. Failure to do so will result in a $250 late check-out penalty.
4.) Absolutely no smoking (of anything) inside the unit or on building premises. Additionally, local law prohibits smoking within 15 feet of any entrance. If there is evidence of smoking, including odor, there will be a $1,000 smoke remediation charge. “Smoking” means inhaling, exhaling, breathing, carrying, or possessing any lighted or electronic cigar, cigarette, pipe, vaporizer, joint, or other tobacco or marijuana product in any manner or in any form. No marijuana, medical or otherwise, may be used, grown, stored or consumed on the premises.
5.) Please be respectful of my neighbors and be mindful of noise and loud music. Please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM-8:00 AM daily.
6.) Lockouts will result in a $150 fee per occurrence. Additionally, lost keys will incur a $50 per key fee.
7.) I acknowledge that as the primary guest on the reservation that I am staying at the property for the entire duration of the stay and responsible for the actions of all guests. If you are NOT staying at the property and booking on behalf of others, please contact us as limited exceptions are permitted to this rule.
8.) Local guests are permitted to book on an exception basis only. Local groups looking to use the property for a party, gathering or other group event are expressly prohibited and your reservation may be canceled.
9.) Lost and Found: We are not responsible for any personal items left behind. If you let us know what personal items you are missing we will make an attempt to locate those in our lost and found and have them shipped to you at your own expense. We loved our stay .. the only suggestion we would offer is to replace rug in living room it’s slippery and one could catch their footing and slip .. the unit is immaculate well stocked and walking distance to parks and beach and very drivable to vibrant Evanston

This trip was disappointing to say the least. I was excited for this find, as the hotels in the area were subpar.
First, I was told the unit came with a parking spot and there was no noise issue as the reviews complained about both.
A few hours before check in I realized I did not receive check in info. I downloaded the app suggested and there was no code. It took a while to get through to automated systems. Emailing etc to get the code.
Upon arrival there was no WiFi info, no information at all. Again it took a while to get through to someone.
As I was making tea, I noticed an ant and then noticed several others. I went to get a paper towel there was literally 1 piece left.
I went yo turn in for the night, noticed a layer of dust on the sound machine, the lamp shades and a dead bug hanging. Went to put my phone down on the end table and there were more ants!!
I shut the lights off for bed but it was bright as day because the outdoor light was right outside the master bedroom. A simple black out shade would solve this.
The bathroom had no foot towel for after shower.
The following day I emailed management about the parking spot with no response until 30 min before check out, the following day. I stayed at a hotel the last night bc we parked a mile away and the ants and dust were gross.

Place was clean and beds were great. Very nice kitchen and being in the water is neat. The location is perfect for someone who doesn’t care if it’s off the beaten path a little. Parking is tough after 8pm. That would be my only complaint.

It was an amazing stay with plenty of room. My dad has never stayed in a place so nice.

The place was nice, modern, and comfortable and had all the necessary things such as salt and pepper detergents, etc. However, when we got there in the small bedroom the bed was placed in a weird location there was a bold that looked like it was there to hold water that at one point came from the ceiling?... I also looked under the bed in the big bedroom and it was full of big balls of dirt with hairs on it. Under the sink was also dirty. The trash cans inside were dirty as well and the spice rack looked like it needed wiping. I would have liked to have a place to park the rental car as well.

The apartment is very nice. It is newly redone so everything is fresh and clean. The view was lovely and there are several small parks within walking distance.
The Rogers Park neighborhood is super cute. Parking is a challenge but there's a garage about a 12 minute walk away. Use Spot Hero to find and pay for it.
The only downside to the stay was the check-in, but it was so bad. We didn't get check-in info until 90 minutes beforehand despite repeated contacts with Red Awning over several days. We finally got the info only after calling VRBO directly. A very stressful start to the vacation.

We had trouble checking in (did not receive check in email) and had to contact RedAwning representative. They were able to get us the needed info relatively quickly.
Property is quiet and very clean. Has basic amenities (needs blankets for pull out bed). We had 3 adults, a senior and a teen… enough space for everyone.

The property was well maintained and decorated. It was very comfortable for a small family or two couples. Three negatives 1) they DO NOT have a deck, its a parking lot right outside the sliding glass door to the dinning area, so your view is of parked cars and sort of kind of the lake. That also means people walk by after parking while you are eating. 2) Parking is challenging. 3) The nearest usable beach is a bit of a walk or short drive away.

We loved the location & property,BUT..
The 2nd bathroom door squeaks terribly-could use WD40, the front door lock didn’t work the 1st time out…lucky for us, the superintendent was there who replaced the batteries-we we’re locked out for over 1/2 hour. It was very difficult to figure out the tv situation. Couldn’t find a spare blanket. Beyond that, we enjoyed your property

The apartment is stunning and location is wonderful. Beautiful high end finishes throughout the apartment. The door lock didn’t work on arrival but the property manager was able to talk me through opening the lock box where there was a key. . I wasn’t t crazy about the blinds. Some of them didn’t function well and had a few broken slats but not a big problem. The only problem was there was no internet for the first two days of my stay. The host offered for me to cancel the remainder of stay or reimburse me for costs incurred to be able to work remotely. I chose to stay because again the apartment is lovely. The internet was up and running within 48 hours of arrival.

This is a new apartment with high tech appliances, some of which were a struggle to operate. Management was responsive to items that needed attending. The electronic door lock did not function so a key was supplied. Great location by the water, walk out the back door to directly overlooking the shore line. Took some wonderful photos of sunrises. Sometimes muffled noise from upstairs dog but nothing disturbing.

Sadly we were not pleased. The sand beach now filled in by giant rocks because of erosion, no swimming. It took many tries and help from management to open the front door and then the door to apt. So check in was about 40 minutes. And the residents upstairs with dogs kept us up half the night and up at 5 in the morning. No ceiling insulation!!! Earplugs and noise machines provided suggests owners know the problem. And the L is a prohibitively long walk. Nothing that we had hoped for. But the building management and workers were super nice. I feel bad, but do not recommend this property.
