Nice Studio in a great location but that’s about it
The studio flat itself was absolutely divine. It was thoroughly furnished and has everything that you need. The Smart TV was a bonus as you’re able to log in to all of your streaming platforms so it feels as if you’re at home! The location of the hotel is perfect. Right in the heart of town and only a 5 minute walk from the beautiful beach. When booking, I requested a cot and it was all set up once we arrived. There was no last minute faffing around because it had been forgotten about.
As soon as you step into the building, you’re met with an instant wave of heat. We stayed when the weather was only 20/21 degrees so I’m shocked at how hot the building is. Luckily, we were provided with a standing fan (plus the windows opened ever so slightly) but that didn’t do much as we were sweating during both the day night. It would have been great if the hotel had a restaurant but that’s really just me being picky! When booking, the site said that I’d have a city view but that was far from the case. My window overlooked a dire care park. The one thing that really disappointed me is the fact that you cannot lock your door once you’re inside the room. For safety reasons, I always lock the door once I’m inside as I have my two year old son with me. On the day of checkout, a housekeeper barged into the room at 9:43am when checkout is actually at 11am. I have no clue why they’re going through rooms so early in the morning with no prior notice to guests. I was in the bathroom when this happened and luckily I had the sense to barricade the door with my buggy in case anyone was to walk in. I was offered no explanation as to why someone was going through the rooms 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the check out time. Based on the temperature and the experience of a housekeeper opening the door, I wouldn’t stay in this location again. The interior is lovely but it’s too hot and the lack of safety is not something I’m used too when staying in other locations

It was lovely
We loved how close Vive is to the beach and amenities. We liked how it was an apartment and the staff helped when we needed it.
It would be useful to have instructions for the appliances as well.

Could be great if they ironed out those two issues
In general it was aesthetically appealing and the bed comfortable
No hot water in the morning The hallway to the rooms had a a strong and slightly unpleasant odour

Handy location and clean.
Clean and in good condition
Felt like the accommodation was more of a residence than for short stays

Great location, but badly designed room and the MOST uncomfortable bed.
The hotel is in a great location, a stones throw from the sea front and close to restaurants. The Frontage is appealing and the staff very helpful. I booked it because it had a kitchen so I could make my own breakfast and eat in if required. This worked, but there were no instructions for any of the equipment, I had to get staff to come and explain how things worked (I have never come across a hob that needs a remote control to work before!). The room was a good size and the shower was great. It looked quite stylish, lots of black.
My two biggest complaints are that it said it had parking when I booked, but the car park was closed when I got there and I ended up spending a lot on parking the van, which is very annoying. Secondly the bed. The mattress was about 4 inches deep and seemed to be filled with pebbles. I can't remember sleeping on a more uncomfortable bed in my life. As a result, I had very little sleep the whole week, which is not good (nor safe when working at height!) The room looks nice on the surface, but it is very badly designed. The bed is sideways in an alcove, this was fine for me, as I was alone, but if there were two sharing, one would have to climb over the other person to get in and out of bed. The bin can't be opened where it is, the drawers in the cupboard can't be opened without opening both doors and the doors can't be opened without moving the chair! The toilet seat was broken and slapped you in the back every time you sat down, the taps were noisy, the blind couldn't be opened without standing on the bed, the windows were covered with splats of paint, the door lock didn't work properly (I had to get the staff again to show me the 'knack' of getting it to work) and whilst a hard floor might be practical in some regards, they need to be swept every day, by Friday my floor was 'crunchy' (and there was no brush and pan). A rug would be a good idea. It would take relatively little thought to make this place great, but at the moment, there is too much that isn't good so I won't be returning.
