Our suite had amazing views and plenty of space for us to relax in. Check in/out was simple and reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The lounge area did have damp in it, which i think is being tackled by a heating unit. We wouldve appreciated cutlery besides teaspoons, tools to wash up (plates, bowls, microwave provided and room adverised as having a kitchenette). The main bedroom didnt have a radiator, when we asked staff they advised the heater in the lounge should address the lounge and the bedroom... bit of a stretch on cold autumnal nights!

Ground floor room was noisy when people came in and out couldn’t open windows for air at night sofa was old and not comfortable but room was clean and bathroom nice

Great location on the beach front, short throw from pier and town centre. Clean room. Stayed in lighthouse suite on top floor. Great views and separate lounge (no lift and lots of stairs FYI). Car park easily accessible just out the back of premises.

First visit to Deal. Had read the reviews and found the Clarendon fully met with expectations. Great view of the sun sea and sky, not to mention the pier! Truly a great spot. Parking nearby was easy. Dining options all within a very few minutes walk. Very easy to relax and have a great time at the Clarendon.
The room was very adequate, a double bed which was comfortable and a fantastic bathroom with a very good shower.
Quite a few stairs to negotiate from the entrance but apart from that all good.

The room was amazing, very clean and comfortable which was a bonus as it rained, so I was more than happy to be room bound for the afternoon and evening!
Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly would highly recommend.

Very nice stay, and very friendly staff,
but at night loud TVs and people voices to the early hours, needs someone there to cap it at midnight, otherwise very nice

Really nice hotel on Deal's seafront, near to the Pier. Quiet clean room, with bathroom, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and comfy bed. The staff were really polite and helpful too. Only qualification is there is no lift and some of the stairs are a bit steep, so it might not be easy for people with mobility issues. Apart from that, the Clarendon is a perfect place to stay in Deal!

Nice old fashioned hotel but with modern check-in after 5pm,all doors controlled by codes,as it looked like nobody was on site after then.No breakfast.Parking at the rear but have to pay for overnight/early morning parking.

Very good location! friendly staff.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. I would give this property at least four stars except for two major problems. 1. There is no lift (elevator), so if you have several bags, you will get your exercise taking them up. 2. Stairs, stairs and more stairs. The hotel changes levels every few feet! You go up, you go down and up again. Even our bathroom had stairs to get to it. Outside the door were steps to the left and steps to the right. No avoiding them. If you have children, might not be a good choice. If you have some mobility problems or disability, like I do, the stairs become a major challenge and perhaps dangerous in some areas where the stairs twist and become very narrow.

Lovely stay at the Clarendon - nice decor in the room. Great communication before our stay. Public car park behind the hotel is reasonably priced and convenient.

Really roomy apartment style room, perfect for what we needed and really started our holiday off nicely. We stayed in the lighthouse suite and it was really well equipped and the beds were super comfy. Recommended

The room was beautifully decorated, warm and comforting. It was easily accessible, clean and with good facilities. Nice touches with the coffee machine, fridge and appropriate themed cleansing supplies.

The hotel faces the beach and is convenient for the town. The staff were professional and vet friendly. Car parking is nearby but fees are payable.

It is right in the center of Deal just across the Pier.

Lovely room (Goodwin Suite) and great location in Deal. Simple entry to hotel and room via keypad code. Ceiling was a bit creaky when people moving about in the room upstairs. I would definitely stay there again.

Staff very obliging. Room very clean and the air conditioning and microwave appeared new. Bed comfortable. More of a motel than a hotel. Had to ask for hand towels and a bath mat. First night the hotel smelled of Indian food from the Indian take away downstairs. We asked to be moved as the outlook from room 10 was was terrible. Room 6 was better but not amazing!

We stayed for one night at the Clarendon Hotel with a seaview room which was amazing. Huge super king bed, bathtub that we could relax in after a day of walking and a walk in shower. Unexpected surprise was the AC which kept the room at a cool temperature and the free water and coffee and tea.
Only a few minor things that could have even improved the stay was:
Water pressure in shower was a bit weak but it's an old building so not surprising.
The mini fridge made a few loud noises throughout the night and we didn't find an off switch.
These are all minor things that did not reduce the beautiful almost 180 degree view of the channel and beach.

Well-placed hotel right on the seafront. We were lucky to have a seaview room with a lovely window seat to look at the view. It was however a busy, noisy road in front of the hotel and due to the age of the property, the floorboards creaked and there was noise from adjoining rooms and above. Overall the room was nice and it was helpful to have a small fridge and microwave.

Hotel staff were very friendly and called ahead of time to see if we wanted the sofa bed made up (we did). Room had a sea view and bed extremely comfy. They even called after we left to say there was a cuddly toy left. Will visit again and explore the area more.

Great location, nice rooms and friendly staff. My room could use a new mattress but that was the only issue I found. Would stay there again and recommend to others.

The hotel is right on the sea front and we had a lovely view of the pier out of our bedroom window, great location, easy to access room, clean room, will stay again

This property has long term residents. Bed was very small and very uncomfortable
Great AC for a hot summers night though
No breakfast options on site

The room was a lovely presented sea view room with stand alone bath tub and a large shower in the bathrooms. The price of the room was acceptable as I booked via the Expedia site but to go direct it would have cost £40 more which would make the room over priced for what was offered.

The Addelam Suite at this hotel is conveniently located on the ground floor next to the entrance. While the suite itself was nice, the experience was marred by several issues. The room was noisy, with every car passing by on the street and the loud bangs of the front door opening and closing, especially during the night, making it difficult to sleep. Additionally, although the flowers outside the window were lovely, they blocked the sea view.
The email with arrival instructions, including door codes, arrived promptly. However, there was confusion upon arrival about whether one could go directly to the room using the code or if a stop at reception on the first floor was necessary. This situation felt impolite, as it seemed like bypassing reception, and the staff came across as arrogant when approached.
During the stay, the room was not cleaned on the first day. After requesting service, it was cleaned the same day and for the remainder of the stay. However, the initial lack of cleaning was disappointing and the staff's explanation—citing busyness with preparing rooms for departing guests—was not satisfactory.
The room did have a fridge, which was a nice bonus, and the hotel is within short distances to scenic views. However, the hotel would benefit from providing more information, such as arrival protocols and cleaning expectations. Additionally, having leaflets on what to do or see in Deal would greatly enhance the guest experience.

This hotel was not good we were worried about fire exits and window and room being on top floor with very dangerous stairs to climb with luggage
No one on duty all night only a phone number
Carpets were filthy and needed good clean
Said our room would be serviced yesterday but no one turned up
Very dissatisfied it makes us feel worried booking through Expedia

Nice location in a quiet beach town. Rooms are nice with a great view. Staff is excellent and helpful. Plenty of parking outback. Good pubs and restaurants close by and easy access to the cliffs

Its a good location for a hotel near the town and station. Staff are friendly and the rooms are nice. The complimentary selection of hot drinks and water is generous. Only let down was the wifi which didn't work since the evening of our stay and right up to when we left. I was kept informed and asked staff who said it was due to a local power cut affecting a few places. Also it was noisy from the suite upstairs and twin beds were small but we can only ask for so much.

Absolutely loved it. The suite was beautiful and one felt they were still on the beach even when they were inside. Check-in/out was a breeze. Would def stay again.

We really loved visiting the Clarendon while travelling through the UK. Deal was a fun stop and the Clarendon was in a perfect location for an overnight stop. We're already ready to come back and spend more time on our next trip to England. Room was amazing. Staff was amazing. Everything for a great stay.

They couldn't have been more helpful from the booking to changing my room to recommending restaurants. Great value for money, location and the view was spectacular. I'll definitely be staying here again.
