The place was clean and comfortable but had no frills. No cart to wheel your luggae in and had to wheel luggage thru gravel to get in building. Witteness an elderly couple having trouble getting in building due to man being in wheel chair and gravel. Customer service was like talking to robots gave information but not friendly. Even though the room was expensive everything was for a fee. No coffee in lounge or water. And on the check out day they were in a hurry for you to leave. They were knocking at your door by 8:00 in the morning and if you didnt answer right away they opened your door. There was no soap and very little shampoo in our bathroom.

There seemed to be nothing there but places to pay more (than $400/night!). Not even a small exercise room. The bathroom was a mess - door handle was broken so the door could not lock. The towel rack is about to fall out of the wall. There was Almost nothing in the shower soap bottles & they were vey hard to use. The room was sparse. Not even an extra blanket. The trash cans were tiny, so those eating take-out food had nowhere to throw trash. It had 1 thing going for it - a view of the mountains. You decide if that’s worth $400.

Beautiful setting, Denali. Nice room and the view from the restaurant is wonderful. However, this is the loudest hotel. If you need a quiet spot, this is not for you. There is no insulation and every footstep, toilet flush, shower, can be heard in your room. AT least, try for a top floor - maybe it is better there.

The property is conveniently located near the Denali National Park entrance. Perched on a hillside, the views are magnificent. Parking is somewhat limited, but many guests arrive by train and use the shuttle to the park. Tour busses- permitted to go the full 43 miles into the park- pick up right at the hotel. The room was comfortable and had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker.

reviews of other guests are mostly right - this lodge is totally overpriced and poor quality that it can only survive because of lack of competition - nevertheless i would advise anyone to stay somewhere else at Denali. First night we find a fried chicken left over in the corner, second night we realize there is no service, not even the garbage they replaced, didnt mention it to us either - second day we found out the breakfast buffet has perhaps the worst hotel food in history, totally not worth it, then some of the staff- like the lady at the bar - disappears for long periods of time and is smoking outside while the guests are wondering where she is..... a sequence of bad experiences denoting a management that doenst care but does not hesitate is simply ripping off customers since they have no choice....... just stay somewhere else please
