The view from the grounds was pretty. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly.
The main road through the park is a short distance down a very steep hill and the traffic noice was constant and loud. Even with the windows closed.

Location
Towels were dingy and beds need upgrading

Great location and scenery…helpful front desk staff and shuttle drivers — they provided excellent recommendations. The shuttle was waiting on us on arrival and our luggage from the Denali Star was delivered directly to our hotel room.
We visited literally on the last day of the season — didn’t realize everything was shutting down. Breakfast was quite pricy at the hotel, but the recommended places in town were closed a few days earlier.

room was nice, heating and cooling effective, but too noisy. view nice
right above alcan highway, no effort went into sound deadening. very noisy with trucks going by for hours. the food situation way over priced, no choices but hamburger and fish and chips. the little cafeteria only open partial hours and sandwiches dry and uninviting. everything looked sorry

Friendly staff, great view. Good food.
Room location. My travel partner and I are lame with bad left knees. I was promised a first floor. The staff put on essentially the second floor with a steep incline.

Exceptional location and proximity to Denali. Shuttle service to the park. Portage baggage service.
Long line at checkin when the bus arrives with 30-40 passengers.

Great location
Untrained staff, room not ready by 3pm, shack like room, poor bathroom, generally poor.

The location was good and accessible to the park.
The food options in the hotel, as well as the surrounding area were sparse. Admittedly there are supply issues during Covid, but it’s something to be aware of.

AWESOME STAFF! From the valet team, to the front desk, to the restaurant staff....amazing hospitality. The grounds were exceptionally clean. The Mountaineer was beginning to close down for the season but even with the limited menu, the food was great. Loved the outdoor deck area. (We stayed right before Labor Day weekend). Hotel made it easy to catch our excursion pick ups. We really loved the grab and go + breakfast options from the deli on site. Really cool to be able to order a "boxed" lunch to take-a-long on adventures. Amazing coffee selection! Views were pretty, free parking. Great place to stay while exploring Denali! Yes, they will put you on the late night/early morning call list if the staff sees the northern lights so you can wake up and check them out.
We did not dislike anything. We did feel (eventually) the interiors of the rooms could use some updating. However it was very clean. Given the pandemic and the shortness of employees that every resort is experiencing...you wouldn't have known that here.

This is a beautiful location in the park. We loved the view out of our window and the beautiful hanging flower baskets. The staff were great.
We needed more information about the free shuttle to get us to hotel and where to pick it up....At breakfast I ordered a vegetarian burrito but received one with meat instead.

The place is stunning. I wish we could have stayed all week.
Honestly nothing, I thought the stay was great.

The Hotel is very nice, beautiful setting.
I found 2 items that had been left slightly under the bed which led me to believe that they either didn’t vacuum or just haphazardly vacuumed! Our room was one of the ones closest to the road and since the room isn’t air conditioned you hear the street noise. They need to install either some hooks to hang towels on or another towel bar, there are only 2 towel bars in the bathroom so if there are 4 people in the room it gets hard to space out towels to dry.

Great views, restaurant was very good. The staff were prompt and friendly
Room did not have A/c. They did provide a fan that sufficed.
Breakfast choices could be improved

The view from our room was outstanding. The staff were very helpful.
We didn't have hot water either morning we stayed there. They were having trouble with one of the boilers. The water was lukewarm until they relighted the boilers. Our room was full of mosquitoes when we arrived like the door had been left open during cleaning. It took the better part of the night and morning to kill them all.
