Floors needed swept and mopped.
Beds pretty hard

This was a deplorable stay. They overbooked and had a random woman sleep on a mattress on the floor in our four person room turning into 5. Didn’t ask us. There was a person below me hacking like she had TB. Spitting all night long. Then the beds were so shaky I’m not sure the beds would hold up. Every time she coughed the bed would shake. I ended up checking out early and staying somewhere else.

The staff was amazing! Very helpful!

Room was extremely hot and made it difficult to sleep. Beds are cheap so they move a lot when climbing to the top bunk. If you’re looking for cheap this is definitely that. Bathroom door also was difficult to lock, and sometimes didn’t lock. Lobby area is great, and staff were pleasant though. Location is nice, beach is <5 min walk.

It was a nice place to stay. If you are on a budget trip and traveling solo this is the place to go. You can meet so many new people and even tag along with them to explore Oahu

Easy access to the beach, but the staff is not that helpful, and the place is not well maintained. After one shower, the drain clogs every day, and there is a plunger you have to use it. I found it irritating. Take the rubbish out but the room is not clean. Checking in is no guarantee, even if you wait the time they set. After waiting the whole day to clean the room, you end up in a full dorm, not even clean; they say they are cleaning. I thought I would be in a fresh, clean room. It is a nice place but very neglected

Property nearby was rough but hostel itself was pretty nice, shower worked well and was hot, fairly quiet at night in the hostel though some street noise. Staff was great. I’d definitely stay again.

It doesn’t look like the pictures show, paint is chipped off the walls, bugs inside of drawers, left over food inside of the fridge and cabinets, used soap in the bathroom, stains on the sheets were given.

I liked the lounge area and events that hostel organizes sometimes.
I didn't like that 10pm quite time is not forced and people stay up until 3-4am, and it is very loud at night because windows are made in Hawaiian opened style

It is really close to the Waikiki beach and diamond head crater. The rooms are good for a hostel, but the staff could be nicer

The location was great, right near the beach but away from noise!

No elevator and bed was old/easy to break.

Bed is very uncomfortable. No elevator. Airconditioner does not work. Old building.

The trip was a quick stopover, so nothing much to complain.

I took the cheapest room option (not renovated) and it was bad. Room was very dirty and the bathroom dated. Hostel location is great, but don't take not renovated room. Not worth it.

Super sketchy. The area around it and the building itself is not safe.

The location was amazing, the communal lounge is a great place to meet travelers, the breakfast/burger joint had great food.
they are doing renos to some rooms, they start early.
they have a 10pm , curfew for noise, but staff were making noise at 6-7am.

The location and staff of this hostel was great! but i stayed in the non renovated room and the room was ok the only downside was that the windows are sooo old and they were Louver windows ( imagine glass shutters) without anything to really shut out the outside noise and light. so if you are a light sleeper i highly recommend ear plugs and eye mask or upgrade to renovated side because there is a lot of traffic and loud people and you can hear it all.

It was my first time in a hostel & I had a very pleasant experience. Aside from the economical aspect, meeting international people from different backgrounds was amazing! The staff (Ari & Wendy) were friendly & very helpful. Ari told us about the all-day tour of Oahu specifically for hostel guests. The tour was awesome with Ryan of the Pineapple Express! Plus the price was amazingly affordable. You should check it out!

The proximity was excellent. The first night I had an excellent mattress, after that, not so much.

I visit Honolulu regularly. Sometimes twice a year. I often use it as a base and go on to California, Las Vegas etc
I use Waikiki Beachside hostel as one of my inexpensive places to stay at. The staff is fantastic, the location is perfect and I love meeting people from all over the world.
This place is perfect for that.

I would never stay here again. The photos make the space look very clean, it is the opposite. It looked like they

Just make sure to bring extra pillow and blanket since the AC can get chilly at night.

Absolutely terrible. Non-stop noise. Have stayed at hostels all over the world and this is by far the worst. By far! It's right on the street next to another hostel with constant noise all day and night. There no communal indoor area where guests can hang so everyone is hanging in front of rooms which just creates zero escape after a day of exploring. Spend the extra $20 and get yourself a b n b

Stayed here because it was real convenient for Honolulu marathon. Was also here in 2010 same reason. Some changes/differences. In female dorm - which had kitchen - on 4th floor but ataff helped with carry on luggage. Appreciated complimentary toast + oatmeal breakfast but wish it was earlier i.e. 8 a.m. Liked the friendly staff + dormmates + other guests. .Especially enjoyed the free bus tour offered at the hostel by Ryan, Pineapple Express. If i stayed longer, i would take Ryan's Saturday 9-hour tour around the island including snorkeling with gear provided. Location close to bus lines, beach, downtown, and of course ABC Stores!

Très bruyant, chambres sommaires et service minimum. Ça n'est pas cher et on comprend pourquoi...
Very loud, basic rooms and minimal service. Easy to understand why this is so cheap...
