Darren was an exceptional host and made us feel right at home. The property is on the waterfront with views across the river to old fort Niagara. Breakfast was a feast every morning and varied and interesting. We would love to return.
Everything was perfect

Stunningly sited waterfront at the mouth of the Niagra River looking across at Fort Niagra in NY and sweeping views of Lake Ontario. Very well decorated and exceptionally large and luxurious suites with separate living areas and private outdoor porches are great for couples to enjoy early morning teas or wine hours. A full and well prepared breakfast every morning.
There is no downside here - If I try to find something I would say that the adjacent waterfront public park to the east, although well-screened by dense landscaping, is very popular with visitors on the weekend days with nice weather or holidays, so there was some happy people noise impact with picnickers during the day.

great view and good service! beautiful building
Linens and towels should/could have been more upscale. disappointed in that.

Wonderful breakfast! Beautiful views and friendly staff.

The setting right on the water is breathtaking, you can view the lake while showering. You are steps away from a trail that goes along the golf course & water. Our host was gracious, genuine and had lots of information to share to make it a great stay & experience. His breakfasts were unbelievable, we were not expecting this. Every attention to detail shows throughout the property. We can't wait to return! Thanks Darren
There really isn't anything not to like. Picture perfect setting, amazing host, location and property

We wanted to book a B&B at Niagara on the Lake for our 35th anniversary, and chose Somerset, was not disappointed, facilities were over and above our expectations, location was breathtaking being on the lake, Darren did an excellent job with the breakfast home made muffins, smoothies, fantastic job, very proficient in his role at Somerset, made our stay very enjoyable, this originally was a 1 of, but I think we are going to make this a regular occurrence. Well done Somerset!

Breakfasts prepared by the chef/manager were different and delicious every day for the full week we were there!
Table was set with new and clean cloth placemats and napkins and the other guests were all very wonderful.
We walked to everything in the historic downtown and participated in/ enjoyed many events , tours, plays, dinners.
The "German" manufactured front door was a challenge to open every single time. If it wasn't for my partner I would never have been able to get in.

the property, ground and rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of privacy. well located to the main shopping area. The keys to the front door did not work properly. Every guest including the property manager had a hard time opening the front door.
The property Manager was incredibly rude, condescending and hard to get a hold of. We were 3 high school friends who were reuniting after 40 years, very excited to spend Thursday-Saturday together. Coming from Toronto, I personally have stayed at different bed and breakfast places at Niagara on the lake yearly. ie. Kings Landing, Pillar and Post, The Oban……all wonderful experiences!
We chose Somerset because of the location on the lake, the grandeur, artwork and design! Given that WE were spending $750 a night on the room (we also we charged extra for our friend who came for the one night) the property Manager acted like she was doing us a favor by allowing us to stay there. Unfriendly, hard to get a hold of the day of our arrival, responded to questions with one word answers, was very direct (to the point of being rude 🤬) From the moment we arrived her tone and mannerisms were”take off your shoes, put on these slippers, breakfast is at 9:30, if you’re late you’ll still be charged, here’s my phone number I don’t answer after 6:00 (made it hard when we couldn’t get into the house one night- we were scared to contact her!) She came to our room on Saturday morning as we were packing to leave, came to the door of our room and said “check out is at 11:00” and abruptly turned around and left! breakfast was served with one cup of coffee, no lounging at the table- she cleared plates as soon as she saw they were empty- no more coffee offered! overall myself and my friends had a great time in Niagara on the lake- albeit the unwelcoming rudeness of your Property manager. I’m sure the owners would not want themselves represented in this way! we will not recommend or return to Somerset again.

It was a wonderful experience. Jodie the host was spectacular, food was amazing, clean spacious suites. Right on the lake and the main street area!! I would definately stay here again!!
3.5
The location was convenient and the rooms were large and clean. The view was also beautiful.
We were not a fan of the host, Jodie. We found her to be short, curt, and slightly rude. The stay could have been perfect, but her attitude was a downer right from the start.

The breakfast was excellent! Tasty and nutritious. The host was very personable and helpful. The view of the lake was stunning. Lots of room.
The air conditioning was very high which meant the suite was extremely cold. There were very loose COVID protocols in place (e.g. no mandatory masking, no signs about physical distancing).

The location and food was perfect, its billed as an adult retreat and thats exactly what it was !! Jodi was an excellent host and willing to do whatever she could to make the stay enjoyable, we look forward to returning one day.

Breakfast delicious, service exceptional
A makeup mirror! But honestly - if it didn’t offend anybody I was happy not to wear makeup for this little stay.
