It was fine

The room was spacious and clean with lots of seating. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Check in was easy and they brought some cold water and light snacks to our room after check in, which was a really nice touch. The lobby area was very nice and had great ambience. The room was quiet, although this may just be because we didn't have any loud neighbors--there is a large gap under the door that lets in a lot of light and (I'm sure) sound if anyone had been in the hallway. The location was good for us. We were able to walk to the Kennedy Center where we had tickets for the evening.

There is no door separating the sink area from the sleeping area. My husband usually wakes up before me, but couldn't turn on the light by the sink or use the sink at all without waking me up. Also, the sink/counter area is really small so only one person can use the sink at a time. The bathroom was not well maintained. The hook fell off the wall when I tried to hang up my towel. The shower curtain wouldn't fully close because the curtain rod was loose and hung down in a "U" shape rather than curving out to the side like it's supposed to. So the shower curtain kept slipping down and gathering in the middle. The shower head fixture was loose in the wall when I tried to adjust it. On top of this, the bathroom was not well-lit so it was quite dark in the shower.

Great stay!

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice that we were able to check in early. They upgraded us :)

Stayed at Melrose many times before, but doubt will stay again.

Location, room size

Bad shower, waiting for 4-5 minutes for the hot water to get hot, no European plugs, at least one. When the room was being cleaned the cleaning staff was constantly removing my appliances the were charging and accurately putting them in the drawer - as a result coming back I had to charge them, rather than use. Also, every day all my toiletries were put back in my toiletries bag - not big issue to remove them again, but why doing that?

Wonderful First Time Stay in Washington

Location , customer service, comfortably, all top of the line , very comfortable bed, and pillows . Great safe neighborhood. Very close to affluent Georgetown, with lots of restaurants and shops . Leslie from the Front Desk was exceptional, I do hope the Hotel Management know they have a gem on their Team !!

Bad hotel no security cameras we have been robbed from the hotel staff, and they entered our room with their keys and stole my laptop and phone and many expensive gifts cost over 3000$ and they didn’t care we called the police, and they are under investigation don’t go there

We had an issue with our toilet, and had to ask the front desk twice to fix it. Eventually, we had to fix the toilet ourselves by taking off the top.

Overall could the increase in the bill was a real damper.

Excellent staff and service. Good location within walking distance of shopping and restaurants.

They charged a $15 a day historic landmark charge that was unexpected. It should be listed on all independent booking sites. I stayed there 5 nights so it increased my bill $75. That was not anticipated
