Location was amazing
Rooms were very small, tiniest bathroom ever, beds were very firm but I don’t mind.

Staff always friendly and go above and beyond for guests. Wonderful stay always. My favorite hotel in San Francisco!! Excellent each time!
All excellent!

Very nice location and free from homeless people. Felt very safe to be there which was one of the main things I was looking for.
The elevator felt a bit old and does noises, so watch out of you're claustrophobic. that's the only thing I have to say. Overall I loved the place and Would stay there again

Helpful staff
The bath towels were old and no longer very white.

It was a perfectly serviceable place to crash for the night after doing tourist stuff all day. Maybe a bit overpriced, but that is every hotel these days following Covid. The people at the front desk were really lovely :]
Some aspects a bit mediocre. The walls and floorboards were very thin so noise in next door rooms was apparent. To have the small bathroom window open to vent the steam would be to look into a room opposite myself, so not ideal. There were a lot of flies in the lobby but this was the case in almost every store in Chinatown I went into, so maybe just a summer thing in San Francisco.

Location was good.
The bed was the hardest bed I’ve ever slept on. The room was very very small for the price. No fridge in the room and the window looked out onto the back of a building and didn’t feel 100% safe in the room. The floors/ bed were very creeky. You could hear all the guests above you and beside you.

Thanks to the staff that were really nice and friendly.
No cleaning offered, that was OK for us as we were staying just for 2 nights. They offered towels or whatever you needed at the reception. Everything was clean except the curtains.

The room was cold. The shower didn't work properly.

The hotel and rooms were clean and neat, and the staff was responsive and friendly. The location was nice, not too far from BART and nestled in Chinatown, with a cute little cafe with great coffee right next door. A little bit of a hill to get up, but not too bad by San Francisco standards.
The WiFi was unreliable and kept flickering out. The elevator was broken for half my stay, which meant I had to walk up four flights of stairs multiple times a day. The first room they put me in was right off the street and extremely loud such that I barely slept the first night, though they were able to put me in a quieter room for the remainder of my stay. The beds were quite hard, and my second room got too hot at times with no thermostat to adjust.

Great room and great price. Very clean
It was great. Will stay again

Room met all our needs, as we only slept there and we’re out most of the day. The shower didn’t run out of hot water and the location was everything!!
Because of the location, it could be a little loud at times but this was better than staying on the outskirts of the city. I will definitely be back at Grant Plaza Hotel!! It’s definitely the best value when visiting SF.

One block from a cable car stop which can be used to connect to other cable cars, buses, or trains.
Reading lamps on the fixtures by the bed so you don't disturb your partner.
Bath towels are big and thick so you only need one. They're soft and don't smell like chlorine.
The receptionists were friendly and helpful.
NO COFFEE AVAILABLE IN THE HOTEL AT ALL! No coffee available nearby, either, until at least 7:30 am.
Room so small that it doesn't have space for a dresser to put your stuff away.
Windows work poorly, screeching loudly when operated.
We put out the "please clean the room" sign but it didn't get cleaned. We had to ask for the service.
The bed was hard.

Location was perfect to explore the city. In the middle of Chinatown, and a 2 min walk to North Beach (little Italy) and also Union Square
Overall great value for money, the lack of coffee making facilities in room was annoying; however seems common place in most places I stayed in the US.

The staff were friendly and helpful, very informative. The location is perfect, you are at the best location. Restaurants and cafes is at your doorstep. The tram station is only 10 minutes walk, so that saved me some taxi fare to go to the airport. You couldn't ask for a better location and the price is reasonable for a big city like San Francisco
I wasn't sure if the windows was double glazing but since you are at the centre , I could hear all the traffic noise and it was noisy. I don't know whether it was to do with how my room was literally facing the street. It would have been handy to have at least a kettle and cups in the room, like most hotels would have. I wouldn't expect free coffee capsules and tea but it could have been handy. Specially for the price they charge. However, Starbucks is only 5 steps away and they open at 5AM.
