Parking is very expensive at $55 day!

Cleanliness of the property and room. Level of security as an active room card is required to access rooms from the lobby. View of downtown Austin at night was breathtaking

The Residence Inn is supposed to be the long stay formula of the Marriott brand. I got upgraded to a suite, which was nice. The rooms were of a good size and clean, although I prefer a hard floor in the bedroom. The living room area includes a kitchenette with a full size fridge and freezer, a microwave and a small stove. Equipment was very basic. The couch was comfortable, the TV almost too big for the room and the work desk good. The bedroom had a comfortable but a bit small bed, and a good selection of pillows, firm and soft. The bathroom was basic but OK. Housekeeping comes every other day, which, with an eye on sustainability and necessity, makes perfect sense. They did an excellent job, once "my" cleaning cycle had started. Throughout the suite you'll find plenty of power and USB sockets.A shoutout to the front desk staff, hotel management and everyone at housekeeping for always doing their best, in the friendliest way possible.
The wardrobe is not practical, basically only room to hang things up. I guess you can live out of your suitcase, when it comes to pants and underwear, but still. Two things made my stay considerably less pleasant: the WiFi worked only on and off (this had nothing to do with the different WiFi plans on offer, it was just that my devices were, most of the time, not able to connect to their networks at all). Also an issue, for me, was teh hot running water: it would take up to 10(!) minutes before the water even turned lukewarm. According to the desk staff, this had to do with the cold temperatures outside? The problem persisted, even when it was 77F/25C outside, so not sure what that was about. Also the water pressure should have been better. The housekeeping cycle didn't start on my third day, I had to report to front desk. This was solved immediately.

The sofa bed is very uncomfortable we slept on the sofa itself since the sofa bed was unbearable , not good for three people just two people sleeping in the main bed

It was close to so many restaurants, live music and interesting things to do.

location
Dirty carpet in the corridors, trash in the hallways because no one empties the trash in the rooms anymore so people end up having to put bags full of trash in the hallway. Terrible room layout: in a room with a bed and a sofa bed there was literally no room to move about. The much advertised "hot breakfast" consisted of vending machine stuff offered at reception. For $300/night we could have stayed at a much better hotel. Lesson learned.

Location is amazing. Very clean. Spacious rooms . I have traveled extensively, and the staff here are exceptional…I’d even say…the best I have encountered.
10.0
Great location, quiet and clean.
Humidity in the room. And unfortunately a lot of homeless people in the area

For takeout the bacon, scrambled eggs and OJ were good.
Pancakes and French toast need improvement
Wooden floors needed cleaning because socks and soles of feet got black
And how about towel racks in bathroom to dry towels
And NO movie channels
