I like the fact that this hotel was about 40 steps away from the beach. Also, the view from the balcony was great.
I didn't like the fact that they did not have any washcloths, the room smelled like a dog was in there the day before. I keep getting bit by something in the room. The tub had hair in it, the towels were dirty. The balcony door looks like someone tried kicking it in from the outside. The walls were dirty with drawing and the air conditioner worked off and on. The front door lock did not work when I tried to lock it for extra security. I had to put a chair up to the door so no one would kick it in. Finally, the beds only came with 2 flat sheets on top as the cover. Underneath the fitted sheets the mattress was horrible. Bar Harbor Hotel was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life. Please if you're looking for a hotel to crash at with a group of friends to party then this is the hotel. This is not a family hotel at all.

Location to the beach and boardwalk was great. Balcony was great.
Front desk staff was not friendly and not helpful. We even had to ask for them to give us plastic cups, as none were stocked in the room. Facilities were very run down, and our TV was broken when we arrived. Parking was very inconvenient, as we had to park in an adjacent lot across the street because the lot on site was full. We paid a lot of money to stay here, and this hotel did not measure up to the cost.

floor in bathroom was rotten, a/c plug was just lying on the floor with wires exposed, mold on the curtains, lumpy bed, almost no parking had to park across street , took an hour to check in , huge gaps around the door .

The location near the beach
The property wasn’t kept up. Looked nothing like the pictures. Nightstand draw was missing the bottom. No blankets on the bed, towels ,tissues etc. The common areas were dirty. So sad

The location in consideration to the beach.
The infestation of spiders in the hallways, the cleanliness of the rooms and parking lot, the smell, the towel situation, no housecleaning, the elevator was super sketchy, the air conditioner looked and sounded like it was about to fall out of the wall, no ice machine, the obvious drug deals and gangs that hung around the parking lot, drunk strangers driving really close to my car.

My trip was a disaster!!! I paid the full amount due with my grandmother’s credit card on 5-24-24. On 5-27-24 someone from your facility charged her credit card another $94.07 more on 5-27-24 (we do not understand why they took more money AND we did NOT give them permission to do so). Our reservation was for 5-30-24 through
6-2-24. When we arrived at your facility the staff was VERY RUDE to us. I had a copy of my license on my phone (front & back). They told me
they couldn’t accept that but they could tell it was my name was the same name that reserved the room, etc. I asked them if I could go to the car and get one of my family members to come in and add their name to mine since they had a hard copy of their license. They told us to just leave that our money would be refunded. Then we had to leave the property and try to find another motel to stay at and use money that we had planned on using for entertainment, shopping, eating, etc. The ONLY money that they did refund was the $94.07 on
5-31-24 that they took from my grandmother’s card illegally. IF you can help me get the $547 back it would be greatly appreciated because I am a single parent with very little income. Thank you for any assistance that you are able to help me with this situation. IF you would like to talk to my grandmother her phone number is 803-630-9487.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING at all!!!!!! For starters the receptionist that waited on us was very rude. We requested a week in advance as well as paid for our first night for a room on the 3rd floor or above but when we arrived they gave a room on the 2nd floor with a horrible ocean view. When I asked for a higher floor I was told they were all booked up bur yet 3 couples came in while I was still be registered in without a reservation and was given rooms on the 4th floor. The room we had was awedul. The plaster was falling from the ceiling m, the bathroom door was too large and wouldn't close yet alone had holes in it, the refrigerator wouldn't cool. The room had moisture in it abnd had a slight mildew smell. The beds felt like a piece of foam with a sheet on it. We were not able to change rooms even though the vacancy sign was lit up the entire 3 days of our stay. We suffered it out this time but never again will we ever stay at this horrible dump. I wouldn't recommend imthis place to a dog.

The room we got looked updated
The AC in the first bedroom didn’t blow cold air… plus we was on the first floor where everyone seemed to slam doors late at night and it was loud which made it hard to sleep. The beds wasn’t very comfortable they need to get better mattress

Good location.
Absolutely nothing. This place is disgusting, dead roaches, dirty bathroom, bathroom countertop falling apart, dirty windows & frame as well as the doors, large chunks of paint peeling off of the ceiling in the bathroom . We then noticed that we were starting to get bit by something on our legs and arms while in the room. When requesting refund the staff got an attitude and were sniggering amongst themselves about the complaint of the room. They made my wife feel as if it was her problem and not theirs. Ended up having to spend more for another hotel than what we had planned on due to having to find another room for the weekend at another location. I will never recommend anyone to ever stay at this hotel.

Compared to the other motels around us it was pleasant and quiet at the bar harbor I really enjoyed my ocean front room with great view of ocean the staff was great and our room was clean and was better than other hotels that I have stayed ìn the past I would definitely stay at bar harbor again and recommend it to others
The parking was a little hectic because the parking garage was closed for repairs and the ice machine was broken but our stay was great

The location is great. The staff is very friendly. Motel is a very very very short walk to the beach, It’s just a small yard to the beach. Beds are very comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel more times than I know. It’s the best value on the beach for someone that just loves the beach And doesn’t need fancy, but comfortable accommodations. I don’t have to find a dog sitter. I just take them with me. Bar Harbor is always my go to motel in Myrtle Beach. I have so many special memories and good times at this motel. I tried nicer and it just wasn’t for me.
I have no complaints. Bar Harbor is what I would expect for the money. And it’s just right for me and my family.

The area where it was, it was close to good things.
The room was very dirty, I had to go buy cleaning products just to clean. I also had to buy an inflatable mattress because the pullout bed was so dirty. Everything was rusty. The staff sounded very rude and had an attitude when we checked in. The pool was never cleaned, it was full of trash.

I liked that it was on the beach.
So much…. The room wasn’t clean, there were no blankets (you have to ask the front desk), no water pressure to take a shower, the toilet was a little too close to the counter in the bathroom (such a pain), the door was a pain to lock (I had to jiggle the handle in order to get the bottom lock to come out), cigarette butts in the balcony that were never cleaned up (it was disgusting), mattresses felt like sleeping on a rock, door to balcony didn’t have any sealing on it so you could still feel the cold air coming in, you can hear other guests talking and walking (and I’m not including the fight a lovely couple got into on our last night- they were right above us and yelled and screamed for 2-3 hours straight and didn’t care about anybody else in the hotel). Parking was a literal nightmare. If there aren’t enough spaces you have to park across the street. I really wished I read through the reviews. This was the most disappointing and disgusting hotel stay I’ve ever had!

As a quick break between nursing school quarters, it was reasonable for sure. The beds were comfy. It was clean-ish but old and in need of some serious tlc.
But...our elevator didn't work, my mom has a disability and stairs are difficult. We had an efficiency, but there was nothing to use the efficiency , no silverware, no pots or pans, no glasses, soap, paper towels, nothing. I would have liked to cook dinner one night but I'd have to buy all the things to do so. It is in desperate need of updating and a thorough cleaning. It could have been a very nice place if someone had taken the time to make it that way.

I booked a room got confirmation and even double checked told them we would be there between 4-5am and rode 4 hrs and had nothing even booking. Com would not help us I called twice
We got there sign on door go across street I did the girl at the desk was very rude and not helpful at all she said she had no room for me and that I would have to wait till , 8 i ask her to call someone she said noone to call she got mad and wanted me escorted out by security she would not do it herself I tried to get her to do it she did not care what i was saying she said she did not work fir Bar harbor and it was not her problem . Booking . Com was supposed to help call twice each time nobody did what they said they were going to do to help. The lady at the property was no help either she said there was no reservation and it came in after 12. I called back the next night and talked to the girl she looked it up it came in at 1130 and it was a reservation and confirmation number so the lady lied that Saturday morning

The Caucasian management the mandatory check in at 4pm but a 11am check out seems unfair you’re going to be cheated out a half day stay REGARDLESS

There was no breakfast and I would have not ate out of that disgusting place. Anyway even if they had food, the rooms were nasty go to roaches were crawling on the outside of the building. If I thought I could’ve gotten my money back I would have I need to report this place to the Better Business Bureau. It is ridiculous.
I took pictures of this disgusting ass road. We wind up running to Rosa because we came in early so we needed a new room that room was disgusting. They didn’t clean the toilet. I have pictures of this place was much money is a charge they should have upgraded some other facilities, open rooms in this place will get some better housekeeper something nasty.

The view was amazing.
It was absolutely filthy, used soaps in the bathroom upon arrival, left over food in the fridge. The room itself smelled of dog urine. Our key stopped working and the office was closed for hours. The ice machines do not work, the vending machine just took your money. When it did work the drinks came out very warm. The pool was filled with trash as was the hall ways at all time. I absolutely do not recommend staying at this location. I've worked In hospitality for years and I've never witness such poor cleaning.
