The location was great for someone traveling alone.
Could not figure out how to control the room temperature

Little touches - Starbucks card, muffins, fridge supplies - where really generous!
Lack of natural light, apartment was a bit cluttered and hard for us to move in.

Close to Union Station and Capital Hill. Nice neighborhood to walk around. Very quiet at night. TV and cable worked well. Coffee maker and hot water kettle provided.
It’s a basement apartment with no natural light when you are inside. Mattress is sagging a bit and the headboard is uncomfortable. The bedding and air were overly scented, I had to unplug 2 air scent dispensers. It had a stove, but we couldn’t cook breakfast as planned because the pots were too big. No side tables and only one luggage rack. The room only has overhead lights, no bedside or reading lamps. Be sure to bring shampoo and bath soap.
I’d still recommend it, just be aware of the shortcomings.

Sophia is a brilliant host: warm, welcoming and accommodating! Like other reviews indicated, arriving to find fresh flowers, water and treats in the kitchen was lovely. The place looks just like in the photos, and the linens were clean and hotel-quality soft. I enjoyed Sophia's artwork which (to me) conveys messages of female empowerment. The H ST Corridor has plenty to offer in terms of food, entertainment, salon services and grocery stores as well as public transit. The neighborhood felt safe and I enjoyed walking around the area. I asked for food recommendations and Sophia sent a list of delightful spots, including Cane, a Caribbean restaurant. Would definitely come back.
Two things surprised me: The photo gallery showed a bathroom drawer stocked with toiletries so I didn't bring things like soap. The drawer was pretty empty upon arrival. But I walked down the street to the Giant supermarket and easily picked up what I needed. No big. The second thing was that when you use the bathroom sink or shower, there's a pump or something that turns on and makes a louder noise. It startled me at first and I thought maybe there was something wrong. But it's just a noise. These things didn't really bother me much, but it would have been helpful to be aware, since all of the other instructions are so helpful and thorough. Also note: This is a windowless basement apartment, so if you count on daylight to wake you, you might want to set extra alarms : )

Sophia provided fresh muffins, bottled water, sparkling water, and a gift card for Starbucks. The home is immaculate, quiet, and beautifully decorated with art. Comfortable bed, linens, everything was provided. She also had fresh flower vases scattered around the apartment for a cheerful welcome. EXCELLENT!

This is an excellent property! Convenient location to get to; near a metro stop; secure, off-street parking; well-stocked kitchen & bathroom facilities; outdoor seating/grilling area; and a wonderfully accommodating host.
I traveled with my 12 and 10 year old. We didn't have any complaints!

Super clean, comfortable space with all the amenities to feel like a home away from home. I really appreciated how quiet it was given one is in the middle of the city, with so much within walking distance.
No bedside lamp for reading.

The apartment is very nicely layes out and comfortable. Everything you could need is there including a well appointed bathroom and kitchen.
The location within walking distance of the Capitol section, museums, shops etc., is perfect. it is in a lovely quiet residential neighborhood that is beautiful and friendly. The outdoor terrace was lovely to sit on when there was sun. I can’t stress enough how kind and accommodating our host was!
slightly claustrophobic feeling as there are no windows in the apartment. Also given the small space there is really no place to just sit and read or watch tv but since there is so much to do in DC this should be considered a minor issue.

Well equipped apartment. Very Clean and comfortable.
The entry locks to the door were a little difficult at times. It’s a basement so there were no windows, but had AC.

I like the coziness of it. Host was very gracious; champagne, gift cards, friendly advice, constant reassurance. Overall great stay. Beautiful place. Well maintained. Responsive host.
The only issues we had is that there were a LOT of mosquitoes around(not host fault), and when we cooked, there was not much ventilation and the smoke detector kept going off.

Perfect cozy accommodation for my trip to DC. Thoughtful snacks and drinks provided. Clear communication from host. Parking was secure and easy.
Mosquitos outside door bit me up while I was trying to unlock the unit.

Bed was very cozy and comfortable and bathroom was great. Kitchen was well-equipped for cooking simple meals. It was very quiet. Convenient location in walking distance to metro station, 2 grocery stores, restaurants, and a pharmacy.
The lack of windows was odd. Really the only thing that kept me from rating this a 10.
