Location was perfect, it is closer to many beautiful places. The place we stayed was unique, you are really feeling like staying at museum. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You need to remove shoes before going up to you room from lobby, which makes you feel like you are at home.
Nothing to comment, everything was perfect.

Everything. This is a superb family-run boutique hotel that is a living example of Peranakan culture. The house is a veritable museum, stylish, fascinating, beautifully kept and run with an attention to every detail. The breakfast is to die for: nyonya cooking and treats that just kept coming and coming. Would most certainly recommend.
Nothing. It was perfect.

Highly recommended, the owner and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel as part of the family. The breakfast was superb with sampling of all awesome melakan delicacies. The room decorations made us feel we were back in the past. Every aspect of the hotel and stay was well curated.

The building structure, the superb friendly lady owner of the boutique hotel, all the antique decoration items inside 5 Heeren and rooms, the hotel location, the people who running the hotel all of them are superb.
The tip top hospitalities, superb friendly and attentive services / feelings given by the 5 Heeren lady owner operator and the workers - the lady owner’s daughter, son in law, hotel counter Malay lady as well as the hotel building house keeper.

Excellent hospitality and tranquility. The hotel is a delight to anyone who likes some peace and quiet, surrounded by antiques (it’s a feast for the eyes!), caring staffs and bustling vibes two streets away. Will definitely be back to try out other suite types!
Nothing at all! Please stay the same :)

Hotel is beautiful with lots of antique furniture and decorations. Location is superb as it is very close to Jonker walk and Malacca river, most of the attractions are within walking distance and lots of good food nearby. Staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to give good recommendation of the food around the area. Breakfast is very authentic Peranakan food.
It can get a bit noisy at night as the hotel is very close to the night market. Be prepared to climb the stairs also as it's a traditional Peranakan house.

This family-owned & run establishment was the perfect place for a weekend stay in Melaka. From check-in to check-out, everyone was polite, friendly & keen to make our time there enjoyable. It's in the perfect location to explore old Melaka on foot & we liked that there was off-street parking. Breakfast was exceptional, with delicious local fare, including Nyonya kuih, which was hard to resist. Our only complaint was there was too much food! The interior is a living museum, with an abundance of family heirlooms & antiques on display. So many beautiful & interesting things to admire!

The breakfast provided is also superb. The host couple are very friendly and made the effort to provide a full “Taste of Malacca” let the photos do the talking.
Couldn't even name anything

This place is a must stay if you want to fully experience the culture and heritage of Peranakan and Malacca. We were lucky to get a room here because they just reopened early March 2023.
The hotel is very beautiful & full of heritage details. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they are the stars of the trip.
The breakfast was a highlight! They offer great local food and the quality is like from restaurant :) The location is very central, easily access to many attraction.
Love this place and I will definitely recommend for anyone coming to Malacca!

The location and being able to park was excellent. The hotel was full of fabulous genuine antiques.
The staff were so helpful on arrival but then things changed. I asked when breakfast was. They replied sorry no breakfast due to MCO. I said very specifically we booked the hotel because it offered breakfast. The staff they avoided us for the remainder of our stay, except for very brief, goodnight when we returned at the end of the day.
When we checked out the member of staff could not get us out quick enough, I imagine fearing confrontation. But I’m not that sort of lady. I did suggest they contact booking.com to update them that breakfast was not available and that it was misleading. He said he would tell his boss.
So I waited a few days before writing my review to check. Sadly it still says breakfast included.
So it’s a huge amount of money to stay in a hotel with no breakfast, no chair to sit on in your room and an overwhelming smell of mothballs as all the drawers had them inside. So not impressed at all.
Many other hotels still offer breakfast. I’ve been to one where they collect your food from a local street seller. Brilliant. So I think this is pure laziness I’m afraid.

We had an enjoyable time in Herren Museum -the authentic interiors and decorations provided a perfect backdrop for our family photoshoot as we immersed ourselves in the Melaka peranakan way of life -There is no better setting than in an actual museum of the Nyonya Baba what with its massive collection of antiques spanning over hundreds of years.
The pristine clean bedrooms are themed individually and come with very modern bathrooms. We just wish there were comfortable chairs to relax in the rooms with, as not all guests are honeymooners who prefer to frolic all day in their exotic beds.
Breakfasts were outstanding -a simple but varied selections of hot food to sweet treats- providing the guests with sublime flavors of the Nyonya-style cooking that are just superb.
If you love history, antiques and want to indulge in the experience of living on the set of “The Little Nyonya” TV series then this is the place for you.
Due to its heritage structure, sound proofing was not a feature here. Hence, you could hear EVERY word from the next rooms eventhough guests were talking in normal volume. There should be a notice informing guests not to talk or make noise after certain hours.
