Tv not working ,room needs some serious attention, water stains on ceiling, decorating hanging off wall..bathroom filthy
3.7
Stunning location, lovely old building with good ‘bones’, relatively cheap, very friendly staff
Apparently it has recently been taken over and certainly soft furnishings have been updated, bathroom hit and miss (cracked basin, mirror shelf missing, mould on ceiling ) carpet in bedroom needs renewing
3.7
Lovely views from the breakfast table 😄 helpful staff and a good location for where we wanted to visit

Table in bar was really sticky.

The setting is beautiful, rooms are spacious, and we loved the antique look. The bathroom was huge, stand alone bath and shower were ample sized.
The food was delicious and the owners and staff were lovely.
Everything was great, just warm but they can't help that.

Great location. Decent food.
The shower was horrendous. Definitely needs changing

Lovely hotel in the Yorkshire dale's. Great food, great friendly service. Good sized family room for an excellent price
The only niggle was the shower temperature. It changed every few seconds from cold to hot and back
3.7
Very clean very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay again. Would ask for different music in the bar 🤫🙃😁

the location was fantastic for where we wanted to visit
The room we had was awful, it smelt of wet dog and it looked like a dog had weed in the hallway and bathroom area. furniture was very scruffy and needs replacing. The room was really drab, settee was placed under the tv so you had to sit on the bed to watch it.
3.7
Staff Exellent. Lovely views
Good breakfast
Rooms a bit tired need updating
Dinner menu choice very small
Didn't have half on menu run out.
3.7
The location is stunning and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect.
3.7
Brilliant location and views. Comfortable room although a little dated. Good pub food.
Breakfast items had clearly been kept warm for too long and weren’t freshly cooked.

Room. Staff. Location
Mis-adverised as the website and Booking.com images show a much more glamorous pub, with a roaring log fire, beautifully decorated dining room tables and high quality food. These absolutely do not exist in this stripped down version of the web images. Very angry that we were hoodwinked into spending a lot of money on substandard accommodation! Owners and Booking.com should be held to account for this!
The fire is in situ in the bar but after my wife and I had walked 15 miles to get there, and - were looking forward to sitting with a beer next to a roaring fire, we were told they'd got no wood!
Soulless dining room with tables that were so flimsy we had to hold the table whilst the other cut their food.
The food was ok but standard pub grub and a million miles from the images on the website and on Booking.com.
On the plus side, our room was excellent and comfortable, it's in a beautiful location, the staff (all Hungarian) were absolutely lovely and worked hard, but absent owner(s) is making life hard for them, investment is badly needed.
A shame because the location is lovely, as were the staff. But no logs for a fire on a January Saturday night....no words, pathetic!

The breakfast was excellent - the food was well cooked and the view from the room glorious
No options were on offer in the dining room on Sunday evening
3.7

Value for money, very good breakfast although the Sausages were cheap ones.
Needs a good and thorough clean.

Great stay, great friendly staff, delicious breakfast and plenty of choice. Only 1 issue. Room had a horrible smell which my husband asked to move rooms but nothing available, would stay here again but not this room. Perfect location, great nearby walks. Lovely food in the bar area too.
Only the horibble smell in the room.

Brilliant stay! I don’t often write review but felt compelled due to the previous bad reviews.
The hotel is a total gem in an amazing location! We went biking pre check in but leaving the car at the pub wasn’t a problem. Check in was smooth and staff were attentive and polite. Food was lovely for evening meal and breakfast and great value for money. Room were clean and very warm (and I am always cold!) and bed was comfy.
The surrounding scenery is stunning and so much walking, cycling and exploring to do!
It’s not a five star experience because it’s not five star prices. I paid £70 for an overnight stay with breakfast included which really in this day and age, when you think of the cost involved, is not that expensive. If you expect a five star hotel then you will need to go somewhere else and pays four or five times the price.
Fire alarm did go off at 6.30am for about 5 minutes. Caused a bit of confusion so maybe would have been nice for someone at hotel to explain it was not for real and maybe offer an apology.

staff were great
I was under the impression all luxury rooms were dog free.
for
e alarm at 6.30 Sunday morning, and no explanation!!
3.7
Breakfast excellent. Lovely location. Quiet too and dogs allowed in breakfast room which is a real plus
had to wait 2 hours after asking twice for bath towels.
TV poor-had to reset 5 times-had to sign in to use.
Just wanted to view regular tv channels-brought both issues to staff's attention.

welcoming bar, lovely food, comfortable room and phenomenal bath and shower!

Our room exceeded our expectations. It was massive, with a large four-poster bed and a fireplace. The bathroom was superb with its rolltop bath and separate shower. Lovely views of Wharfedale from the room

The door handle was broken and not fixed in the 3 days of my visit
