The Downs are literally at the end of the garden path and if you're a nature lover, you'll enjoy seeing our regular wildlife visitors throughout the seasons including a wide range of butterflies, birds and bees.
Ventnor really is the perfect location for a family break. The town has individuality, character and everything within walking distance; perfect for strolling on the beach or on beautiful downs, wildlife spotting, seeking out rare flora and fauna at the Ventnor Botanic Garden, water sports, sea safaris, tennis, golf and of course challenging cycling routes. In the other direction, Bonchurch is also just a short stroll away and offers a wealth of pretty walks. You can relax in the Pond Café, visit the pottery studios, explore secluded coves along the coastal path, tackle the more challenging footpaths weaving their way up the undercliff or take the gentle stroll along the waters edge stopping at the SeaPot for fresh crab pasties at Wheeler's Bay.
While there's a lot to keep you in Ventnor, Bonchurch and Steephill Cove, you'll also be conveniently located for visiting other favourites such as Shanklin Chine, Godshill and The Needles plus events such as the Isle of Wight Festival, Cowes Week, walking and cycling festivals and even a Garlic Festival!

This is a lovely, large house that easily accomodated our party of 10.
The family room provided much fun for everyone with the bar billiards table a big attraction.
Sadly though, we found the property in a very dirty condition , with the impression ofnot having been lived in for some time.
We lodged a complaint and were assured that someone would arrive to clean the house the next day, sadly , this did not happen and we had to do a basic clean for ourselves. I am still waiting for redress with regard to this.
However, I am sure that the owner will address this issue and then Cressingham will be a wonderful place for a happy family holiday.

We had such a wonderful stay at Cressingham with the most incredible weather. It is a beautiful house in a fantastic location with gorgeous sea views. We love Ventnor and Bonchurch and this is a great place to be based. House had everything we needed (apart from a jug!) and was comfortable and clean. The garden was lovely and shady and great space for evening bbqs and firepit.
Thank you so much sarah and Marc for sharing your house with us. Highly recommend!

The garden was a nice open space but up various steps and not so useful for the children.
Everything in Ventnor is on a steep hill - people need to be aware of that!

Lovely house, lovely location!
A big family house with flexible accommodation and lots of room to spread out. High quality TV and HiFi. Wi-Fi excellent. Comfy beds in big bedrooms with great views. Well equipped kitchen. Only downside was the bottom floor bedroom was cold/dark. Owners very helpful and returned left behind property to us!

House very high standard. Description accurate, all facilities as described. Lots of books, CDs, DVDs, games etc to amuse young and old. Furnishings and decoration very high standard. Location very good - Ventnor nice place.
Only problem - finding it. The 'welcome pack', nor anything else, gives the postal address or post code for satnav purposes, and there was no phone contact. We had to do some detective work on the web to locate it.

We had a lovely stay over New Year - the house more than met our space needs of three couples and four young children.
The house is very well appointed and equipped - we wanted for nothing. The beds and bedding all top quality and place was immaculate when we arrived.
Owner Marc a pleasure to deal with, even having the patience to return some property which we left there.
I'd recommend this house to anyone - I think it works really well for family and friends get togethers.
Hope to be back

A beautiful property, super-clean, smart linen and furniture and filled with wonderful eclectic design objects giving it a modern and fun feel in an old house. Powerful heating system and power showers too. Thoughtful touches too like a very well equipped kitchen, night lights for kids, tons of books and dvd's on hand.
Beautiful sea views from the bay window, an amazing garden with a vast trampoline that the kids loved and so much space. Kids were impressed with bountiful toy cupboards too. Walking distance to the sea (though tough on the thighs with quite a hill!), Ventnor has all the amenities - some great restaurants, a fab butcher, supermarket, smart tea shops etc.
The view from the back is onto hills filled with trees - quite stunning. You get some exercise too running up and down the 4 floors.
We also discovered the Ventnor Arts Club which offers visitor membership - giving you access to live music, films and a private bar.
We hope to be back at Cressingham very soon.
