About this house rental
Set in a very peaceful rural location just three miles from the shores of Loch Lomond on the edge of the Trossachs National Park, Collalis is a great holiday destination and a perfect base from which to explore this stunning part of Scotland with its many activities and attractions.
Wonderfully secluded down a long private driveway this delightful, large self-catering house comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests. The surrounding fields and beautiful views make it hard to believe that it is just 18 miles from the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Glasgow.
Furnished to a high standard, Collalis is a charming holiday home which offers plenty of space to relax. The bright, full height hallway is kept invitingly warm by a wood-burning stove and the open fire in the elegant drawing room creates the perfect backdrop for gathering after an active day out and about. The archway between the well-equipped kitchen and dining room creates a large, sociable space ideal for memorable holiday dining. Doors lead out onto a pretty sun-trap terrace with garden seating and a barbeque, and just off the kitchen is a relaxing conservatory offering the perfect spot to unwind with a good book whatever the weather.
The two charming first floor ensuite bedrooms either side of the galleried landing command glorious views across farmland to the hills beyond, while the spacious master ensuite bedroom and two further twin bedrooms are conveniently located on the ground floor making this an ideal holiday retreat for all ages.
Collalis is surrounded by a glorious four acre garden boasting a tennis court - this is a fabulous space for all the family to enjoy. Long summer evenings bring beautiful sunsets over Ben Lomond.

Stunning. Beautiful surroundings. Private. Nature abounds and the cattle so friendly. Visiting from US for our 60th Wedding celebration and on the go, a dryer would have been most welcome. Thank you for precious memories.

Large very comfy house. Great beds and bathroom arrangements. Very well equipped kitchen. Definitely do not rely on Google maps or other mapping technology. Follow written directions given by host and plan to arrive during daylight hours

This was a rare opportunity for my family to all get together and enjoy fun family time. The property is perfect for this. Large family outdoor and indoor areas to eat, play and relax. We spent our time doing a family olympics out in the garden, concerts, board games and tennis. It’s location is easy reach to beautiful Loch Lomond.
Bedrooms and bathrooms clean and very comfortable.
Honestly I didn’t want to leave, however take home some wonderful memories of our time there.

Overall impression of the property was suffient. The grounds were remarkable but the properly itself was somewhat tired but it did have a homely charm about it that was fitting for the time of year.

Beautiful well kept garden and usable tennis court
Excellent train service into Glasgow from Balloch
Loch Lomond and trossachs within easy reach by car
It would have been perfect if we could have found footpaths from the actual property

House was clean and well equipped and suited our extended family group well. Gardens were great and the tennis court was a real bonus! The location is pretty remote which suited us fine, but may not be for everyone.

This property ticks all the boxes. It's huge and ideal for a large group. It was spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds. We loved spending time in the luxurious lounge with it's splendid views of countryside. The kitchen is well equipped and the large dining table allowed us to sit together and enjoy a home cooked meal. The tennis court was a hit with not only our younger family members but the older ones too. We would recommend the Clachan in Drymen for food, we had a late lunch and it was delicious and it's on a short drive from the property. We had a wonderful time and would love to return one day.

Lovely stay
We had a lovely 7 night stay. The owner was extremely helpful and contactable throughout.
The kitchen is really well stocked for utensils, baking and cooking.
The house is extremely spacious and the gardens are just spectacular. The kids really enjoyed exploring them and riding their bikes down the long drive. Seeing deer daily was an added bonus. Just watch for ticks on your dog.
The area has lots to do too. Great holiday had by all the family.

Idyllic Country estate
We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We were lucky enough to enjoy perfect weather. The garden was a beautiful, huge space. The house was perfectly clean, with plenty of room for a large family and equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Our kids loved it — plenty of games, toys and areas to explore to keep them occupied and happy. We were excited to glimpse “hairy coos” on the drive out to this very private getaway.

Idyllic surroundings, spacious and well equipped house
Perfect for a family gathering (5 adults, 5 children). A wonderful country setting with beautiful views to Ben Lomond. The children, aged two to eight, loved the freedom of exploring the extensive grounds, while the adults enjoyed tennis, swing ball and croquet. A barbeque was enjoyed by all. The house had everything - and more - that we could possibly want. We'll be back . . . .

Large, clean, well equipped house
Great house for our large group, had everything we needed for our new year celebrations. Probably more rural than we anticipated.

Very nice, great for families
Very nice location, excellent amenities and well maintained property. The only downside was delay in getting hot water in downstairs bathrooms but this did not spoil a wonderful experience.
