A lovely cottage, nice to be in the countryside, but with easy links into York city centre. Peggy and Rod were very responsive to our messages, we would be tempted to stay again sometime!

Great for families
Friendly staff, lots of space, well equipped. Laundry facilities and dishwasher were a bonus.

We are very grateful to have found this cottage for the Easter weekend and we loved the large grounds for the kids to play in. However, the Cottage was a little tired and needed some TLC - the mirror fell off the bathroom wall and the tap was loose. Even the kids garden toys that were supposed to be in the laundry were all old and broken - swingball had no ball, the skittles were mouldy etc.
The biggest problem was the ant infestation. The large bathroom is covered in ants - we left a bag of toiletries on the window sill and it was full of ants in the morning. They are also all over the hall area so were inside all the shoes and all over the kitchen units, which meant we had to store all our food in bags and containers and prepare all our food on the kitchen table which seemed ant-free. We did mean to tell the owners before we left but were not sure where they lived. Also, if renting this property to families in future its in desperate need of wifi.

Beautiful location
The cottage is a very good size with a large kitchen, good sized lounge, 3 good sized bedrooms and a bathroom, plus en-suite. There were 6 of us staying there and it never felt crowded.
The cottage is located on a small site, including the farmhouse and a small camping field. It is beautiful and there is plenty of open space for children to run around. There is parking for 2 cars and the grounds surrounding the cottage are very neat and tidy.
The cottage is set in a beautiful location near Selby. York is about a 20 minute drive away and seaside towns of Scarborough, Filey, and Whitby are just over 1 hour away.
The only small issues we would point out is that some parts of the cottage require a little bit of TLC. Some minor things were broken or not working and needed replacing.
The owners were very friendly and happy to help when we asked.
I would definitely return again if we were visiting this part of the country
