Wow! This was a super convenient and comfortable location. We fished many of the nearby streams, and bear creek lived up to its reputation as the #1 trout stream in Iowa. We'll definitely be back!

We loved our time at this cabin. I have stayed at several places in a lot of states, and this one by far the best cabin I have ever stayed at.

Mike and Brenda have created a cozy, wonderfully clean little piece of paradise in one of the loveliest corners of Iowa. The house was spotless, the beds comfy and the location simply stunning. It was a perfect place in which to stay and connect with old college pals, talking until the wee morning hours. Thank you for sharing this welcoming home with us! We will tell our fishermen/women about this perfect spot in Iowa!

We absolutely loved staying here! The cabin is wonderful - the beds were extremely comfortable, the cabin was cozy, and the property itself is amazing with tons of trails around it. The view from the deck of the cabin is also stunning! We also loved the location - such easy access to all the trout fishing in the area. Check-in and check-out was super easy too. We can't wait to visit again!

This is a great place to stay. This was the 3rd time we have stayed at Mike and Brenda’s cabin and each time has been great! We went there to go trout fishing. The cabin is close to the trout streams which makes it really nice. The weather wasn’t the best on our trip but it was nice to be close to the streams so we could fish for awhile then go back to the cabin to warm up. The house is very clean and cozy and has everything you might need and then some. All you need to bring is yourself and food! Mike and Brenda have always been very quick to respond to any questions we had! Overall a great place and if your going to the Highlandville area definitely stay here!

We're a retired couple looking to get away from the city. Lots of wildlife and the cabin was beyond our expectations. We loved staying there!

The only real problem is the amount of hornets. Must be nests around. I did have a large spider in my bed (master) Sunday night.

Property owners communicated very well the check in and out process along with recommendations of items to bring along. The house was fully equipped and kept up very well!

Perfect Getaway!
We love coming to the Highlandville area and this was by far one of the prettiest rentals. Upon arrival, the property was just charming, with cool breezes all weekend long. The cabin was very clean and was well stocked with cooking, cleaning supplies, towels, and linens. We found everything we needed and what we didn't have, a quick run to the general store provided it. The beds were so comfy, we all slept well after a long day of exploring Decorah, and fishing! Peaceful getaway to unwind and disconnect, but WiFi was available for the kids to stream movies and use their devices.Great area for trout and we were treated to a wonderful fireworks show due to the Trout Run and local activities. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you Brenda and Mike for sharing your slice of heaven! We agreed that it truly was phenomenal and look forward to coming back next year!

Unforgettable
This home, property, and location were perfection. Our 6yr old had an absolute blast exploring and relaxing, as we did too! We saw deer in the mornings and evenings, saw all kinds of birds, and heard coyotes in the distance at night. The kitchen was WELL stocked. Loved having the washer and dryer.
Not only will we never forget this beautiful home, but we'll forever remember July 3rd, overlooking the sunset at the bean field, and my other half asking me to be his wife! This trip and home were unforgettable. Thank you, Brenda and Mike for sharing your slice of heaven!!
