Amazing view right out the front of the house, perfect spot in Rockwood to feel off the beaten path but close enough to Greenville to hit a bar or two or any of the stores there. Water is nice for swimming, and the cabin is adorable.

This was the 3rd time we have stayed here. It is clean and feels like home.

Our family of four had a great time at this lovely lake front cottage. It’s equipped with all the basics. We brought two kayaks and explored, swam, sunbathed, fished, napped and made too many s’mores. If you are looking to slow down and connect with your family, this is perfect! We will definitely be back next August.

Beautiful spot
Overall this place is classically rustic and comfortable. It’s in a gorgeous location. Wonderful dock. Comfortable beds and furnishings. My largest concern is that a few things need some simple tlc. The Adirondack chairs on the porch are not functional. There is also black mold growing in the bathroom and a bit in the kitchen. Not major inconveniences but certainly made us congested while there and wouldn’t want to stay there again necessarily. If that issue was resolved it would be perfect!

Exceeded our expectations
This beautiful lakefront cottage was clean with all the amenities with a huge deck looking over Moosehead Lake. Bed was so comfortable! Spent all day on the dock fishing and looking over the peaceful lake and listening to nature. Very quiet and tranquil. Campfire topped off the evening as we listened to the rippling of the lake. Definitely coming back.

Very quiet place to relax.
This cabin is situated along the shore of Moosehead Lake. You can look out from the cabin at the water and at a small island across the way. The downstairs is open concept and has a roughly 24'x24' floor plan. Upstairs is an open loft-like sleeping area.
The kitchen was generally well-equipped. We stayed there mid-October which was beginning to push the heater's abilities on a cold day, but we were comfortable the whole while.

Great spot to unplug!
Our stay was great - very serene little camp. It's just as advertised and the lake is absolutely glorious. We brought our small Jon boat and were able to carry it into the water. It's best suited to kayaks or a canoe. The cove is protected and offers safe boating for small crafts. There were some pieces of wood with nails and such as you might expect from a camp. No big deal, we moved them and checked the area before having the dog out on his lead. We would definitely go back!

Private and beautiful!
We loved this place and would come again! Amazing beautiful views from the home and out on the dock. We brought our kayaks and explored every day.
If you go, take a fan. They had some but we used a box fan in the bedroom window at night.

Location location location
The location of the property is outstanding, this part of the lake is sheltered from north winds by Deer Island, making it feel more like a cove; the water is smoother than further out. The open plan of the home made the interior airy and light. Be sure to feed the hummingbird.

Great place to stay
Its right on the water and you have your own private dock. Peaceful to stay and relax, or plenty to do like hiking, fishing and boating.

We had a wonderful couple days at this cabin! It’s one of the prettiest, most tranquil spots I’ve ever been lucky enough to stay. Thank you!

Cozy Cabin on Moosehead Lake
If you want a quiet, off-the-beaten-path location, this is the place for you! The home was right on the lake with a great patio and an amazing view.
We were there in October and the fall colors were awesome!
The home has all the basic necessities and was cozy.
One thing to note: the cell phone service in the entire Moosehead Lake area is pretty limited. It was nice to unplug for awhile, just be prepared to have no to very-limited service!

Beautiful, quiet location (late September)
Lots of open space for a couple. Loved the high ceiling. Very well equipped kitchen. Cabin faces east so you can see the sun rise over the lake and island (beautiful!). But upstairs is dark enough if you like to sleep in. Queen size bed/mattress is very comfortable!

Beautiful remote location
There is no longer a blue funky refrigerator (seen in online photos) and that's probably a good thing. There were a few glitches, one burner on stove did not work and outside light did not work (probably needed bulb changed). The lighting inside is a bit dim. But on the good side, the bed was comfortable, the heater worked well keeping house warm, and it was very private and quiet. We did actually see a moose on the road in on our last evening there! So that was a big bonus. Thank you.

HONEST Review
I contacted Vacasa with an email a few days prior to submitting this review. I gave them my full honest input of how I felt. I received a generic thank you, I will forward your email to the property manager. I gave this rental an overall 2 stars. You pay a high price cleaning charge, but AFTER you book this place you find out that YOU are responsible for removing the garbage you accumulate during your stay! Why am I paying a cleaning fee of this rate to be required to remove my own garbage? That makes me wonder if the place is actually cleaned by a VACASA employee...if it is cleaned by a housekeeper PRIOR TO EACH new guest, than WHY CANT THEY REMOVE THE GARBAGE? Again, you PAY for cleaning....they do offer you to drop your garbage off in Greenville at their office, 15 minutes away. HUGE inconvenience if you do not have the room, or are not heading that way, fortunately I did have room on my trailer. Also, the firepit was FILLED UP with old fire coals, which should be cleaned between each guest! The chairs by the dock are ready to fall apart at any moment, an old box of screws, and other miscellaneous items are here, and there on the deck railing. Also, the front light is burnt out, so if you come back in the dark, you need your cellphone light, or flashlight.....the thermostat on the wall is not even screwed on, everything we touched here felt as if it was going to fall apart if we weren’t EXTRA careful. We know its a camp, and appreciate it, we too own a camp but in the Adirondacks of NY, so we understand what a camp is, but if you offer it for rent, put some care into it, and clean it up. Also, on our last morning, I walk over to the sink to pour a cup of coffee, and there is a guy sitting on the roof of the shed 25’ away facing our direction....AWKWARD, get some curtains downstairs where they are NEEDED, not as secluded as its made to sound. Lastly, the checkout instructions included in the home guide after booking say one thing, where the refrigerator says another. Take time to update these things! Lastly, “Chickadee” your tips envelope is obnoxious! I already paid a cleaning charge, Plus cleaned it prior to our checkout, so why would I tip you? My Fiancé was not amused with smell of this cabin’s interior, it smelt like mathane/propane...I wonder if it was due to the toilet that rocks side to side.

Beautiful location
Great location for a relaxed, quiet place on the water to regroup. You can hike, canoe, kayak or just read a book and nap. Perfect get away!!!!!!!

Very nice and quiet place. We were not disappointed
Trying to find it at dark was a little difficult as we couldn't see the colors os the cabin. We did find it as it has a canoe paddle with the number on it and it says camp. Would definitely rent it again.

Perfect getaway
We stayed here for our honeymoon last year and loved it so much we had to book it for our first anniversary! This place is so perfect for a getaway, it's rustic but clean, the dock is perfect for relaxing on, and although neighbors are near they're not very visible due to trees and we often forgot they were there. Kayaking, wildlife, a huge deck for bbq-ing and a firepit between the cabin and water. So great! We'll be back!
