Nice property, has everything you need for a great vacation on Moosehead Lake

Our (wife & I) third time here. Love it as it has everything we need for a week of boating/fishing, and spectacular sunsets.

I love that it has it's own boat launch and screen porch overlooking the water.

Don't get me wrong this is a nice place; and I'd feel blessed to own it myself. However, after staying at Moosehead Lake waterfront rentals for the past decade, it's overpriced for what it is and the customer service was atrocious.
It's managed by Vacasa, which means when you ask questions, you get a response from someone at a call center who has no local knowledge of the property besides reading the same listing you already have access to. They have never been to the property or the Moosehead Lake area.
The good - well kept up, has boat launch, dock you can tie a boat to, waterfront location, kitchen is well stocked, bathroom comfortable to shower in, king bed nice and roomy, and it was nice and quiet.
Room for improvement - Inside of cabin much smaller than photos, outside area much smaller than photos make it look (and there is a boathouse that eats up most of the view and the small viewshed has 2 boats moored right in front of it), the dock is too small to hang out on and in need of repair (wood sticking out of sides, so needed large bumpers to tie boat there safely), and the furniture was uncomfortable (wicker on covered porch and saggy couch inside).
So, all things considered, I would not recommend it for the cost. Overpriced.

My wife and I are very busy people. We were looking for a place where we could wake-up and unwind everyday with lake views and that cottage feel. This place fit the bill! If you're looking for the most current, updated cottage on Moosehead lake, this isn't it. But if you are looking for a beautiful, clean cottage with breathtaking views and direct lake access & dock and authentic cottage feel......this IS it! We brought our small 17-foot boat so we could view the lake up close and do some fishing. Again, this place worked great. And they also had a nice small fire pit in the back yard down by the dock where we could relax and unwind with a glass of wine and watch the sunset over the water. Can't think of a single complaint. We had one issue where we lost something and the response time by the Vacasa team was immediate. Stay at this cottage. You won't be dissappointed!

Beautiful little slice of heaven. The house was probably the best stocked of essentials that we've stayed at over the years. The lake view from the master bedroom is breathtaking. We brought our boat so was very convenient to have a boat launch on the property and even with the ice damage to the dock it was easy to tie up our boat there. Neighbors were very friendly and helpful plus were good to watch to keep up with lake weather. The sunsets here are phenomenal, I couldn't take enough pictures of them. If I were to say one negative thing I would say the bugs (outside) but that has more to do with our timing of the things being born than anything. Would definitely go back again and recommend it to friends and family

Call of the Loon
The little cabin on Moosehead Lake was a piece of paradise for my wife and myself. It was off season and oh, so quiet. Except for the call of the loon each morning. The cottage appears to be lovingly cared for by the owner. It is warm and cozy with expansive views of the lake from the sun room and master bedroom. The bathroom is large and updated. The kitchen area is a cabin kitchen, but it has everything you need to prepare a full meal. The decks face the afternoon sun offering a glorious outdoor sitting area. We stayed at Lily Bay Split Rock cottage for five nights and could easily have stayed another week. It's your delightful cabin in the woods by the lake. Just as you remembered as a child.

Moosehead serenity
We have loved coming to this house for several years, and have already booked again for next summer. The location is lovely-right on the water and a prime spot for gorgeous sunsets. The lake is crystal clear and chilly, perfect for a refreshing dip and fishing from the dock. This is the perfect spot for find serenity.

Beautiful location
We normally camp Lily Bay every summer, but decided to get a camp this year. This camp was perfect. Well stocked with plenty of room for 5 people. Beautiful sunsets and very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Small sandy beach that gets rocky about 4 feet into water. I'd suggest water shoes if you plan on swimming. Master bedroom has an amazing view of the lake!

We had a nice stay at the splitting cottage. It was well appointed and came with fresh linens and plenty of towels. The location was great and we enjoyed the boat ramp and dock on the property.
The kitchen was well stocked, including spices. However the stove, range top, didn't always work and is in need of replacement. We also found the firepit, which sits on a rock pile, hazardous to walk around as you cannot see the rocks at night. Flashlights are highly recommended.
Great stay otherwise in a beautiful location.

Great view
Great view. Cozy cottage. I don’t know if it’s because of the location of the cottage on the lake, but the wind was ridiculous! I didn’t sleep for 3 nights because I thought we were going to end up in Oz! The bathroom was spotless...so glad to see that. Despite the wind, we had a nice time.

Cozy cottage on the lake
We enjoyed our time at split rock cottage. The house had everything we needed to feel at home, from extra blankets to cooking utensils in the kitchen! The dock was beautiful to sit on and drink our coffee each morning and the atv trails were close by. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location and wonderful cabin!
After the first night things were great! We discovered that the bedroom heat was turned off at the breaker and the living room TV never worked with the satellite, but others worked so we were fine. The cabin is well tended and provisioned and you cant’t beat a sunset over the lake from the deck everyday!

Best 4th of July I've ever had!
Rented out this cottage with a few friends from college, and we absolutely loved it. The cottage was incredibly clean, and the owner thinks about everything you would need for your stay (down to the newspaper and kindling needed to start a fire in the backyard).
We enjoyed swimming in the lake and hanging out around the cottage for most of the day, and then admired the beautiful sunsets on the lake at night. There's a ton of stunning nature nearby too which is a nice way to break up your stay.
Our experience was topped off when all the neighbors on the lake began lighting fireworks for all to enjoy. 100% I would comeback or recommend this to a friend, it's really a hidden gem.

Cozy and Peaceful
This was our second time at Split Rock Cottage. It is perfectly located, not too far from the town of Greenville which we love. The cottage has everything you need it's just like being home, cozy and comfortable. I'm sure we will visit again in the future.

Beautiful location
No dish washer, wifi or washer and dryer as advertised. Probably the season but many biting bugs. Several nice bass off of the dock as well as trout perch and large winter fish. Saw moose up the street. Very quiet. Beautiful sunsets

The perfect lake cabin!
We loved our stay at the Split Rock Cottage! It had everything you could want in a cabin on the lake. Beautiful location not too far from Greenville and super close to Lily Bay State Park. We even managed to hike Mt. Kineo during our stay, and it was an easy drive to the ferry shuttle. The cabin has all the amenities you could want: firepit, dock, full kitchen, great indoor and outdoor gathering spaces for food and games. Would highly recommend!

Lily bay camp
We were very happy with the camp. Loved having the boat ramp for our small boats. Sleeping upstairs was hard for adults. We may bring cots and sleep in the front room next time. I would say the BIG issue is the soffit corners on the deck and the boat house by the dock. They are too low and we hit our head a few times. Those corners need to be removed and reconstructed to allow people to walk under them.

It was excellent! A++ The only thing I would have liked to have known is if we could you the gas lights when the power went out. I really did not know if we could use them or how to. But the power was off only for a short time
