The tour we booked through Ricky was awesome.we booked the guide the next day again, the kitchen area could use some TLC . Could use some cleaning and a little organizing. Also the roof top could be an awesome area if cleaned and some relaxing chairs put out for guests to read and chill.

Danke! ☺️

Ricky is super kind and works hard to keep the place in perfect shape. The two sweetest and most cuddly dogs that made my day. Nice bathrooms, kitchen, and social area. Beautiful spot!

Lucky enough to be the only guest when I stayed!
The kitchen area is huge and very well equipped.
Ricky and Irani are the best hosts ever and very knowledgeable. They gave me lots of tips on where to go and not to go, bus schedules etc.
There is a wee shop that they run too so they were able to help me with a SIM card, data etc.
Cute dogs, and I discovered the turtles on my last day!

Ricky and Ireen are genuinely kind and caring people with a gift they are. What a charming and whimsical place in an excellent location in Orange Walk. Highly recommended!!
All was positive

The location was great, only 4 minutes walk from the bus station. The proprietor was very helpful and was on hand to answer any questions and offer advice. It was possible to book a Lamanai tour with him.

Ricky is extremely interested in helping you to maximize your time in Orange Walk...
Really works hard to give the personal touch to his guests....
Good spacious well-stocked kitchen...
Good location. 5 mins walk from bus terminal ..
Free laundry service, nice touch if stay 3 nights.
AC would be nice as fans bit close to beds ....

Ricky was very helpful booking tour of Lamanai, lending a bike to ride, making coffee in the morning. It was easy to meet fellow travelers because of the shared living room/dining/kitchen area.
The whole place could use a face lift.

Rickys is the perfect to spot to jump off the bus, stay for a couple of nights and visit the Lamanai ruins (I booked with Lamanai River Tours - Coconut Pete, but Ricky can also book a tour with a different tour operator. Although, I do recommend Coconut Pete).
Ricky is lovely and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathroom has what you need and is also clean. Wifi is good.
The kitchen is pretty clean and very well equipped.
I would definitely recommend Casa Rickys if you are visiting Orange Walk, or just need a rest on the way to/from Mexico/Belize.
The only issue for me was that the two dogs do run around the kitchen and climb all over the sofas, so I didn't really like to sit there.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The dorm was comfy, wifi worked well in the common room, the kitchen is fully equipped and you can chill either at the terrace or anywhere in the lovely garden. Ricky is amazing, he knows literally everything, he also helped me to book a tour to Lamanai with a really good guide. If I could give Ricky's place more than 10 stars I would.

The location is 3 blocks only away from the bus station. Also, as the only hostel in northern Belize, it is a good place to stay when you want to visit Lamanai or Altun Ha. Place is clean and has hot water. Staff is really welcoming and helpful.
It's not the hostel's fault but my bank card only has temporary cvv number so that the website could not charge from my card. My reservation was canceled when I was on the bus to Orange Walk. I was lucky to get a bed in the end but I think it's better if you can communicate with the owner before that to ensure as it's a quite small hostel and may not have bed available.

Ricky was pleasant and helpful, and there was a handy kitchen/lounge we could use.
Dogs barked at night. Room was small with no desk, so we had to use the lounge for the laptop.

The place is really cool, feels like you are staying at a friends house. Ricky is really nice and gave us really good advice and we had a great time in Orange Walk. We stayed in a private room and the room is big and comfy, with a shared bathroom right nextdoor. There is also a big terasse and hamocka you are allowed to us. A big kitchen and great atmosphere.
The kitchen could be a little bit cleaner.

Everything! Ricky is the best hostel owner I've run across yet. Provides a towel and top sheet. Makes free coffee every morning. Has great information on everything including getting to other destinations. Can hook you up with a much cheaper tour. Can sell you a sim card and activate it as well as currency exchange (pesos). The room was cool and comfortable. Great bathroom with pleasantly warm water and cleaned daily. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and a truly comfortable seating area. Included guests in his birthday celebration! Nd shared the meal with all of us and the nextvdaybone of his relatives gave 3 of us a ride to our next destination. They treat you like family. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again

Ricky’s place is brilliant, a really little haven tucked away on the edge of orange walk. he’s very helpful and accommodating and let us check in early. the morning coffee was good and the room was nice and spacious.

Ricky! What a wonderful host. Goes out of his way to help out and accommodate all travellers. Always smiling. Thank you, Ricky! Excellent location - close to the bus station, good cafes (try Maria's Bakeshop - fantastic chai, frappuccinos, huge quesadillas, and Maria is the nicest person :) ), supermarkets, the river. If you're a runner, there are good streets for running near the hostel - easily did a nice 11km. Excellent kitchen, and gorgeous pet dogs.
The upstairs bathroom can get a little gross, and the whole floor is usually wet.

Location central and very close to bus station, clean, has a kitchen. Ricky cares for his guests and for the hostel.
Nothing to complain about

Fantastic place! Ricky is so lovely and helpful with suggestions of places to go and routes to take. Clean room, great kitchen, gorgeous complimentary coffee in the morning, secure motorbike parking, cute dogs.
Air conditioning would have been nice but there were fans in the rooms which were great.
