A unique architect designed property making the most of the great canal-side location, this unusual contemporary house ranges over 4 floors with oak floors, a glass balustrade and sleek stone-tiled kitchen and bathrooms. The large open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas are split over 2 levels and opened to roof height, making the most of the light, space and canal views.
The stylish living area in soothing marine blues and greens has two sofas, each seating 2 along with an armchair. The TV sits on a weathered beach-comber style sideboard containing books and games. A glass apex has a door leading onto a small balcony with a bench for 2 overlooking the canal. From the living room or balcony, you can watch the action at Wash House Lock, transporting leisure barges into side pound (a small reservoir for re-filling) leading to the spectacular Deep Lock, which at nearly 6 metres is the UK’s 2nd deepest lock.
Officially opened in 1990 by the Queen, the Kennet and Avon Canal is a beautiful cruise-way with boats and barges regularly passing and a towpath for cyclists and walkers out enjoying Bath and lovely villages and towns beyond. The 87 mile long route links London with the Bristol Channel and is made up of three historic waterways with lots of wonderful scenery. Hire a barge, an electric day cruiser, canoes or bikes to explore further.
The large bright kitchen diner has a contemporary fitted cream kitchen with pale silestone work surfaces. There is a 4 ring gas hob, a separate grill and oven, a microwave, a small fridge and separate freezer, a small dishwasher and a combined washing machine and dryer. There is a good range of cookware and books for inspiration. A round oak table has 4 wide stools and a sage coffee maker is provided, (requiring ground coffee). An under stairs utility cupboard has further household utility items.
Downstairs is a spacious sage and grey twin room with two high single 3’ beds that zip and link to become a 6’ superking bed, a small chest of drawers and a hanging rail with shelf space for just towels or accessories. The sleek taupe- tiled en-suite has a bath, a large walk-in shower, a hand basin and WC, with plenty of shelf space for toiletries.
Down another flight of steps is a sage and green double bedroom with a modern 4-poster 5’ king size bed, a small chest of drawers and a hanging rail. The en-suite shower room has a small shower, a hand-basin and a WC. Next to the en-suite is the previous front door, now kept locked and with a curtain over to create a cosy and private bedroom space. The actual entrance is at landing level close to the living areas.

This was our second time staying here and again we weren’t disappointed. Check in and out process was smooth and trouble free. A short walk to Bath Spa train station makes car free travel easy. City center is also just a short walk away and made strolling around Bath in the evenings after the daytime tour buses had left a true joy. We would stay here again without any hesitation.

Very much enjoyed staying in this property. The hosts were very professional, and the place was very, very comfortable. Great proximity to central Bath and the Cotswolds. Would love to return!

I always take great care to research where we stay when on holiday in Britain. As this was a two week stay, it was especially important. I am delighted to say we chose the best! We arrived by train, and the very short, easy walk from the train station was wonderful, especially as we also planned to use the train a few times. The location took us a few minute’s walk away from all the busy area, and we had a choice of lovely walks to get about, either along the canal or the river. We enjoyed the little deck and watching the happenings along the canal, and it was very peaceful at night. The property is absolutely as shown, and the manager was very friendly and helpful with our small queries. I highly recommend this cottage.

Although the property inside was well equipped and very pleasant upstairs, the bedrooms were dark , bathrooms needed extra cleaning, the balcony required extensive maintenance to make it pleasant. Very busy area, the sound of the water was lovely, and close to town are the positives, parking of vans and cars right up against the windows,so for security we kept them closed.

Quality - top notch accommodation and location. Very comfortable beds - lovely quality and nice smelling bed sheets/pillows/duvets. Large showers - large bath towels. All Delightful. Just like staying in a top hotel. Brilliant location for walking into Bath. Even with my limited mobility range - easy. Great choices in where to eat with delicious food. Pubs/curry house/coffee shops. Great to sit on the balcony in the sunshine and watch the world and boats go by. 10/10 - will return.

Fantastic property with 2 BR. The location is fantastic in Widcombe. The locks were viewable from the den. A bit difficult to find but looked it up on Google maps to see where you need to turn into... that was very helpful. Overall great spot and I highly recommend.

This is a very beautiful and spacious house, within walking distance of the historic center of Bath. The location is very special. From the balcony you look directly at one of the locks of the Kennet and Avon Canal. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bath. This was one of the nicest vacation rentals we have ever stayed at. There was plenty of room for our whole family to spread out, the kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped, the hosts were very communicative, and the location by the canal was really special. It was a very pleasant walk down the street and over a bridge across the Avon into town, where there were many shops and restaurants conveniently available. It was fun watching the boats going through the canal from our own private deck, and we discovered a wonderful little ice cream stand a short walk down the canal path. Since we had a rental car, the fact that this flat had a parking spot adjacent to it was also quite nice. We are already talking about coming back again. It was really wonderful!

Bath was all I expected and I found it friendly I also found good restaurants.

Lovely, modern property on 4 levels, right next to a lock on the Kennet & Avon canal. Excellent location for trips into town (7 or 8 mins walk) or walks along the canal and onto the hills around Bath. All mod cons inside and everything is well organised.

Bath Lodge Mews was the perfect place to celebrate a special birthday. Tranquil setting by the canal where you can watch the day drift by, but just a 10 minute walk into BAth and all the city has to offer.

Lovely little apartment which was beautifully furnished and had absolutely everything we needed for our 2 week stay in pretty Bath. 10 min walk to see the sights and shops but also perfect location right next to one of the locks on the canal - so relaxing to sit on the balcony and watch the boats go by. Nice to have a parking spot, even if it was a bit tight - take a small car! Just be aware of the next door neighbour though, who likes to have his tv on very loud some nights, until 3am! Really could not fault the apartment and would love to return!

We cannot rate this stunning mews house, Alexa and her team highly enough! It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely recommend the property to friends and family and use the company again. The house is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We were made to feel very much at home - nothing was too much trouble For Alexa and her team. The rental was also very competitively priced and excellent value for money. Thank you very much, Alison and family

Perfect location. House really is as good as it looks in the photos. Couldn’t make the telly work, but that could have been due to our age! Anyway, who needs a telly in Bath?
