Cosy. Warm and great location
Nothing

The bloody seagulls. Bad luck the younger ones were out in force too as noise was insane at night. Nothing to do with the lovely cottage but argh. And I spend a lot of time at the coast.

Location was perfect as we were walking sections of the Cleveland Way. Easy access to path from Staithes and also easy access to bus from top of road. Cottage very sweet and homely, beds extremely comfortable. The host was great - we had a power cut and she got an electrician to us really swiftly and it was a Sunday.
The cottage was cold. There are night storage heaters but they gave out heat from the early hours of the morning but if you are out during the day , as we were, it was cold by the time we got back. We used the throws in the sitting room as blankets for the beds! It might be useful if blankets were provided.

Great location. Compact but an ideal base. Cold weekend so the property was cooler but didn’t spoil anything.

Beautiful location and the real fire.
It would be good to have coat hooks and a heated towel rail.

Location and ease of access
Not as clean as it could have been

ok/good standard all round , nice decoration , plenty of necessities catered for, pleasant location and added bonus for being in the beautiful village of Staithes .
the downstairs living space was dark ( the cottage is old and in a close quarter yard with other buildings very near so its no wonder not much light gets in ), there are plenty of lights to brighten it up but it felt very gloomy and wasn't particularly comfortable. The upstairs rooms were light enough though and cheery, the top bedroom was lovely . The shower leaked to the kitchen below and the toilet was not flushing very well. In general it could do with a better clean, the sofa was a little worse for wear with stains and defo smelled of dog. There was a bench outside but nowhere to really sit outside comfortably .

The cottage was very quaint as it was an old fisherman's cottage and had a lot of character. It is in an excellent location near to the harbour and shops, restuarants museum, art galleries and craft shop. The cottage has all the amenities that you needed for the duration of our stay. It was good value for what we paid. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were a good size although the top floor bedroom has wooden ceiling beams so you have to be careful you dont bang your head. I was okay being just under five foot though.
There was nothing really we disliked about the cottage. It was a bit smaller than it looked on the brochure but we were fine. with that. The gulls were a bit noisy our first night but after that it we never noticed them.

Cosy cottage with lots of character. Great location.
A little chilly on the night, should have brought some wood for the wood burning stove!

It was very cosy and had lots of character. The location was great too.
It was a bit tired looking in places.

Very comfortable beds and the location is excellent.
No comfortable outdoor area to sit. There is a little courtyard round the back but we weren't sure if we could use it.

We also love that it is dog friendly.
Nothing.

it was in a good position in the village
It wasn’t too clean. not filthy but grubby. nowhere to put bathroom things. and nowhere to put anything in the top bedroom. Toilet didn’t flush all the time and the tv only worked spasmodically.

Location was good. Near to beach and all amenities in Staithes
Cottage in need of a deep clean (crumbs in the draws and cupboards, lots of"stuff" in wardrobes that could do with a tidy up, generally needs a good clean. The mop was absolutely disgusting). The garden is a bench outside the door which looks into property opposite! No instructions for TV. No freezer compartment in fridge. There is a large stone in the bathroom window to keep it open!

Great location (although would be tricky for anyone with mobility issues). Very comfortable and we loved the fire! Really close to the centre of the village and only a few minutes drive to loads of gorgeous beaches close by. Perfect for people who love to walk!
Could do with some coat hooks or similar place to store all the coats etc.

Excellent location. A very quaint cottage with lots of character. Well equipped kitchen. TV was simple and we could use our Netflix log in to watch. Towels were great and the bed was comfortable.
There was no instruction booklet available because of Covid risk management. I had to phone the caretaker’s number to learn where to find the WiFi password.
The night storage heaters were effective but too hot. We couldn’t see how to turn them off other than at the wall ( which I understand causes other issues so didn’t do).
