About this house rental
Romantic, full of character, quiet location yet central and within walking distance to everything including the Cheltenham racecourse, montpellier shopping, and restaurants. Wifi Plus free parking. The property has two double bedrooms, one bedroom with a king sized bed, other bedroom has two standard singles which turn into a double . There is also a sofa bed in one of the reception rooms for a few more surplus guests over the standard 4 guest capacity. So the property can take a total of six. We have a large family bathroom on the first floor with a roll top bath and separate shower. Then a further bathroom on the ground floor. One with shower. There are two reception rooms. They both have gas flamed fires and both rooms overlook the walled private garden. The living room has a velvet chesterfield and is very inviting, particularly in the winter months. The kitchen has a smeg cooker with six rings and very large oven and a smeg fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer and a Belfast sink. The house overlooks a large walled garden complete with fishpond, mature trees, barbecue and a glass awning with living room seating, cushions, sofas etc. There are also two dining tables and chairs in different parts of the garden. On the back of the house is a further courtyard with an outdoor living area also. The garden has night lighting in the pond, and fairy lights in the trees so is perfect also for entertaining in the evening. The house has full central heating as well as the two fires and a full and constant hot water system. The decor of the house is very unusual and creative and the house is in a unique location, being both private and quiet. It is also in the perfect location in Cheltenham, being two minutes from the high street and a five minute walk to the race course.

DO NOT BOOK!
Host never replies, we got to the property to find out the host rents it to students! We never got any check in details, phone numbers don't work, I think it awful to leave 6 young women without anywhere to stay. It has been a stressful and scary experience when we were stuck without somewhere to stay and had to pay for a hotel on top, after we managed to find one!
I think the host is horrendous to scam us with no intension of ever allowing us into the property.
Overall a HORRENDOUS experience.
AVOID!!!

Lovely property in need of a deep clean
Visited as a family for New Years. First impressions were good but the whole place needs a good clean. The house is supposed to be family friendly but the stairs are very steep and drop as soon as you walk out of bedroom. We couldn’t control the heating, so upstairs was like a sauna. Very uncomfortable to sleep in. This could be a lovely place if it was given a good clean and damaged things were fixed.

Bluebell Cottage
I was very much attracted to the property by the pictures on the website. I booked it on the spot and was looking forward to my stay there. On arrival, we spent 15 minutes attempting to get in, before resorting to calling the local contact for assistance. We had the correct keys, but the locks were very stiff to negotiate. I suggest a little maintenance may avoid this in the future. The cottage itself, whilst very pretty and quirky, could do with a thorough clean and a little TLC. I also found that it was far too cluttered with stuff, making moving around akin to negotiating an assault course. The beds are very uncomfortable and creaky, making for a restless night sleep. There was nothing in the property to suggest what to do and where, so we had to research for things to do rather than rely on recommendations from the owner. The thing that I found most concerning, especially as I was staying there with an 11 year old, was the abundance of electrical cables everywhere, all overloaded on extension leads, which looked quite dangerous to me. We were told there is parking, however, at time of booking it was not made explicitly clear that we could only park in the adjacent roads for 2 hours at a time and had to move the car before 0800 so as not to be fined. This was only explained two days before arrival when we received our final instructions for check in. That was particularly inconvenient, as it meant we had to be mindful of the 2 hour parking limit and having to ensure we were around to do that. We were told that we could park at the near NCP, but I think parking charges on top of the rental price was a bit cheeky. I would suggest that the owner arranges parking so that the guests don't have to interrupt their leisure time to avoid being fined. Finally, having paid £50 for an after stay clean, I was quite surprised to be asked to make sure that the property was left in the condition we found it (quite dirty) and being asked to wash up and put things away on departure. I would not stay there again, but overall our experience was average to good.

Thank you for a creative and fun stay
We enjoyed the quiet oasis and the really interesting artistic touches. The cottage could use a good thorough cleaning, but otherwise, our stay was great. Thank you!
