Pros: Great location. Right on the water so you can fish right off the dock (caught quite a few), pull a boat up, or just enjoy the sunset. Plenty of space and enough beds for the 16 of us (13 adults and 3 children). Each bedroom having an on suite was very helpful. Plenty of on site parking, spacious kitchen, and massive deck are other pluses. Also, the communication with Jim was fantastic.
Cons: House is a little beat up (cosmetic things) but that’s to be expected with a house intended for large gatherings. Didn’t receive check in info until we pulled up to the house. Once we had check in info, the process was a breeze. This is not a knock on the home or host, but beware of mayfly season. They swarm at night and are all over the windows. Didn’t impede our stay, just something to be aware of.
Overall this is a great place for large gatherings. Would recommend to others and stay here again.

We stayed in early May. Overall, we enjoyed the property and loved the layout and space. There was more than enough room for all of us, and it was great that all of the bedrooms had their own bathrooms. The kitchen was great (except there was no foil, plastic wrap, storage bags). And it was nice to have the deck. We were, however, disappointed that the grill and outdoor fire pit were both not working. Before arriving we had asked about the grill and were told that we had to buy propane. We did pick up a propane tank only to find out that the grill was not working. We tried to use the propane tank for the outdoor fire pit but that wasn't working either. The owner refunded us for the propane. Also, the blankets were all thrown on the closet floors (some of which were not that clean). And there were a few other items that were in need of repair. We knew from prior reviews about the highway noise, which was ok except for the bedroom that fronts the highway; in that bedroom it was very loud when trying to sleep. Again, it's a great property and we enjoyed ourselves overall. Hopefully the issues are addressed for future guests.

This house has it all! Amazing water views from almost every room. The first floor offers an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen with a wall of windows that make you feel like are on the water. The spacious bedrooms all offer private bathrooms making this house an incredible find for large groups, but it is still cozy enough for just two. The host has been extremely responsive to all of my requests and in my estimation has earned the title of super+ host. I highly recommend this water view getaway for a long weekend or an extended stay. We are already thinking about planning our return trip!

Weekend reunion of old friends, the space worked out great. Plenty of room to hang out and mingle. Lots of beds and bathrooms. Great view of the lake. We visited in a colder month and it was cozy, but would love to take advantage of the lakeside deck sometime in the summer.

Serves all needs was a great location and great communication with host

This home was exactly what we needed for our family Thanksgiving staycation. The lake view was absolutely breathtaking during sunrise and sunset. Home is as advertised, perfect for a big group of all ages

We had a major family event at the location and the hosts were more than accommodating. It’s a very nice house and was a great time.
4.7
Outside needs maintenance and deck furniture needed attention as far as cobwebs. Oven and stove didn't work. Ceiling fan in 1 bedroom was full go and couldn't turn off or regulate. Dining room light missing some bulbs. Great kitchen, well stocked.
4.7
The house was perfect for our number of guests and spacious, kitchen items provided were plentiful, and bathrooms were well furnished. The lake setting is beautiful. I was disappointed in the lack of cleanliness inside and out, (cobwebs, dead bugs) and we were unable to grill (wouldn’t ignite) or use the fireplace.
4.7
We enjoyed the layout of this house and the view on the lake is gorgeous. It was a luxury to have en suite bathrooms for each bedroom. The sliders along the back of the house were beautiful and the living space accommodated our group well. We found some nice golf courses and restaurants to enjoy in the area. To be completely honest, this house is very far from newly built and has been roughly used. It is in dire need of some TLC, maintenance repairs and deep cleaning, both inside and out. It would be great if there were screens on the sliders facing the lake and screens in good repair on the bedroom windows. We wished we could have used the gas fire pit on the deck; however, the tanks were empty and we didn’t feel we should have to fill them, as the house instructions suggested. We did find the traffic to be very loud as well, although we’d read that in previous reviews, so were aware. It should be noted this house is right on a very busy highway. I wouldn’t likely stay here again, as is.

We booked this home for our annual family reunion. We lost one of our brothers unexpectedly and this reunion ended up as more of a tribute to him as he loved the water. The views were stunning. The kitchen (the center of any of our reunions) was perfect. The private baths that accompany each bedroom were a plus. Yes, this is off of a busy street but the views of the Bay far outweighed any traffic noise. Shaded area of deck was nice in the heat of the day. The firepit was terrific in the evenings. Bugs were not a huge issue, a little spray and they didn't bother us. The owner was responsive and very helpful. The only suggestion we might make is to put a railing going down the deck/ patio steps. We had several "older" people and it was a bit of a challenge to navigate up and down the steps. Would definitely recommend. We had a wonderful time.

The house was perfect for our needs. What a beautiful view.

Our family enjoyed our stay. Jim was very responsive when we needed him. Love that each bedroom has it’s own bath. Great view of the lake.
You do hear the main road but we worked around that.
4.7
This house was very clean, Jim was very responsive to all communications. The view is amazing and very spaceous. Only drawback is the road noise, It is close to the highway with no sound barriers. Overall the house was great and we would book it again.
4.7
The house was beautiful! Plenty of rooms, beds and bathrooms. Loved the open concept between kitchen, dining room, living room. We were able to feel as if we were always with each other. House probably could have been cleaner both inside and out and when they say it is right on a busy road, they mean it’s right on a busy road. We loved our time together there.

We drove from Niagara Falls and my brothers family came from Kalamazoo. We spent Wednesday and Thanksgiving together and had a great time. The house was beautiful and had all the amenities you would need . The owner was great with communication and was there if needed. Plenty of room for 8 adults and the rooms are awesome each with their own full bathroom.. The only bad thing was a little traffic noise due to the location ona busy road. Otherwise the home was great. I would highly recommend staying at this house. Thank you again Jim for allowing us to stay at your home.

Five of us came for a low key weekend together and we had a wonderful time. It was really nice that we could each have our own bedroom and bathroom! The views of the lake are spectacular! You feel like you are on the water in a beautiful house boat.
4.7
We enjoyed our stay. Sitting on the deck and watching the sun go down on the lake was very relaxing. Everything was as advertised. Would not hesitate to rent again. Thanks for a great experience.

First of all, I want to say Jim was very responsive to all of our questions and needs, so thank you very much! Communication through the messaging was always responded to very timely.
The house is beautiful! The views from the deck and the family kitchen and dining are just wonderful. Everyone in my family enjoyed waking up to the lake views every day. The furnishings were adequate for a large family and each room having an en suite made it easier for all of us to take care of ourselves. The washer, dryer and garage refrigerator were very much appreciated and well used. There are plenty of dishes and utensils. The only thing I would ask for is more kitchen towels, but we had plenty of paper towels fortunately.
I will note about other reviews on a couple topics. Yes, there seems to be a lot of bugs, but it's a lake house! It comes with the territory. Make sure you take deet and citronella candles. The barbecue was a bit of a mess, but I put a little elbow grease into it and it cleaned up fairly easily and I made some absolutely fabulous steaks that my family gobbled down. We also cooked franks and brats out there too. We loved the gas fire pit. It really made outdoor evenings nice.
One thing to note, Dixie Highway is a pretty busy road. You have to be careful entering and exiting the driveway. The road noise isn't bad when all the windows are closed, so keep the front windows closed and you should be okay.
I would definitely recommend this house for any large family that wants room for everyone.

Let’s start with the PROS:
The house is beautiful. There was more than enough room for the 6 adults and 3 children we had in our group. The kitchen had just about everything we needed. There is an abundance of extras: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, floaties, etc. Fishing is fun. We caught quite a few. We took a day trip to Port Huron. We were able to tour the lighthouse and stopped by a local beach. Clearest water we’ve ever seen. The area is great and there is shopping and restaurants close by.
The CONS: there should definitely be a disclaimer with the house during mayfly season (with pictures). We were unable to use the outside of the home after the first day. The entire home and back deck were covered in mayflys. If we walked outside, we were covered in them. The water was also cover in dead mayflys, we saw a dead cat in the water, and several dead fish. The water was so rough /choppy and the ladder doesn’t go into the water very far. It’s hard for older people or people of a larger stature to use. The grill and the outdoor fire pit stopped working. We didn’t tell the owner because previous reviews stated the owner told the tenants to replace the propane. The grill is also pretty rusty. We used aluminum foil on it. The water pressure for the shower with the rain head was awful. We also couldn’t flush the toilet if someone was in the shower.

Excellent customer service.
Even before booking I reached out to the property owners, they were patient and kind with any questions or concerns I might have had. It's a beautiful house with adequate amenities. We loved having five bedrooms with their own bathrooms.

Beautiful View, Spacious Home
We enjoyed our time at the property. It had beautiful views of Lake St. Claire and was close to a great little town called New Baltimore, which had several great options for food and a very nice park. The kitchen is amazing and has everything you need for cooking. The grill worked fine other than having to manually light it.

Beautiful view
We had a group of friends celebrating birthdays. it was great to each have our own en suite rooms. Great kitchen and dining area. the deck was terrific to look out on Anchor Bay. the place is a little difficult to spot, it is right off a busy road, so can't creep along to look at the addresses, it helps to have someone navigating.
The one disappointment was the gas grill. there was a full tank of propane. the grill was rusted and hadn't been cleaned. we opted not to use it. the kitchen range is incredible with 6 burners so had plenty of room to cook our meal inside.
overall it was a great trip. thank you

Booked this for a weekend with family and friends. The house is beautiful and sits right on Lake St Clair. Read previous reviews regarding the traffic noise but didn't bother us a bit. The house offers a very large kitchen/dining area/living room for all of us to fit comfortably. The views of the lake are also beautiful!
Only reason I didn't give this 5 stars, which were minor, I'd even give them 4.5 if I could but one amenity offered was a grill. Upon checking out the grill (which was stored for winter) we found no propane in any of the tanks (4). Contacted the owners and they directed us to the nearest gas station to exchange one of the tanks. We didn't wish to do this, so we cooked our burgers and sausage inside.
Only other minor annoyance was the neighbor kids who decided 1130 pm, was a good time to play ding dong ditch. Not the owners fault on this one, but just make sure your cars are locked out front.
I would recommend this house.

We stayed here for our wedding one year ago and decided to return for our one year anniversary. We love this property with the gorgeous view of the lake and the incredible sunset view. The five bedrooms upstairs all with full baths and a bathroom on the spacious main floor was perfect for us. We are already looking forward to our next stay there.

Loved the addition of the shaded area on the deck. Lots of bugs and spiders on the deck. Love all the separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Dinning room chairs need to be replaced. Beautiful view!!

The house was Gorgeous, the back is even more beautiful. The house has everything you need as if you live there, my family loved the deck, that’s where we stayed most of our stay, the owners have everything you need to know in a booklet on the counter, I use Vrbo a lot and I have to say I think this house was my favorite.

A beautiful Little Getaway
We celebrated my sister’s 70th birthday. It was the perfect little getaway for her. She stayed the weekend had a little family dinner in between. The place accommodated everyone so we were able to spread out (COVID-19 mindset) with Lake St. Clair as a focal point how could you go wrong. The house had all the amenities you need. I will consider this place at the top of my list of rentals.
