Lago House Description Detail
Lago House is a 3,100 sq. ft. four-season home featuring five bedrooms and three and one-half bathrooms. The master en-suite (one queen bed) is on the upper level and faces the lake. There are two additional bedrooms on the first floor (two twin beds in each). There is a full bathroom on this level as well as a half bathroom off the kitchen. It is an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining, and living rooms open to each other.
There is also a deck on this level with a view of the lake and a propane grill. The living room has a bluestone-faced fireplace (firewood provided) and a wall-mounted 42” flat panel television with a DVD player.
The house is set into a hill and the rear of the lower level is below grade. The other three sides are open to the yard. The front of the lower level faces the lakeside of the house and is open. It has another deck where you'll find our hot tub.
Inside you'll find another master bedroom (one queen bed), the fifth bedroom (two twin beds), and a full bathroom. The family room with the second 42” flat panel television and DVD player is on this level as well as our laundry room. Both TVs in the house have cable programming with HBO and Showtime. The network stations (ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC) are from New York City.
Local Weather
Given our mid-Catskill region location, we get the benefit of pretty mild temperatures during the summer months (80s during the day and high 60s / low 70s at night), which is why we do not have air conditioning. We do have multiple ceiling fans and plenty of windows.
During the winter months, we get great snowfall. The house is within a 1-hour drive to three premier Catskill Ski Resorts:
(i) Hunter Mountain
(ii) Windham Mountain
(iii) Plattekill Mountain
You simply won't find better value for the space and location!

For a large family and two dogs in a love with the water this was a perfect location for us. The property was well cared for. Any issues the property manager was easily available. Lake was a little small for our taste but overall was able to get some sailing in on a sunfish and lots of paddle boarding and kayaks. Thanks to Troy for his hospitality

We had a wonderful stay at Lago House. There was plenty of space to spread out and the teens enjoyed having their own hang out and sleeping space on the lower level while the adults shared the upper level. All of the amenities listed were accurate to the listings and the beds were comfortable! We enjoyed swimming, boating and traveling to Hobart Book Village, Cooperstown and the Catskill Rail Trail!

The house was perfect for our needs. Our family had a blissful week of lake time, coffee on the deck overlooking the water, campfires in the evening, and time to relax in the hot tub. A trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame was an easy and pretty drive away. The house was exactly as described and was the perfect quiet and remote spot that we wanted. We would definitely recommend Lago House.

We enjoyed our stay at Lago House. Our grandkids had such a great time that they asked about coming back! Only one suggestion: The property slopes to the water in the back, and it would be helpful if the stone steps were evenly placed instead of uneven, we are in our 60's and fearful of stepping on them and falling in the uneven condition they are in. Other than that, Troy was a super host and very responsive. Thank you Troy!

The house was a perfect layout to host our multi-family getaway weekend. There was enough space and privacy for each family to have their own little section, including bathrooms! We all gathered in the common area and kitchen for games and meals.
We enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake while playing a game of catch outside.

We booked this place because had a hot tub and it was in the middle of 2 sisters home, it’s huge, love the the lay out, love the property, it has a hot tub, BUT when we stayed it was not working, so the owner was kind enough to reimburse some money.

Our family had a great time at Lago house this summer! House is spacious enough for everyone, even allowing an uncle with health issues to have his own bedroom and bathroom suite which was great. House was very clean when we arrived, and was fully stocked with most of the things you would need to cook and serve a large group. The yard and lake are amazing. We floated all week on our standup paddle boards brought from home but did use one of the rowboats which worked out well for fishing. We all agreed we would come back and spend more time there in the future. Troy is great and even reached out to see how everything was going. Can't wait to get back up there!

This house exceeded all expectations! It is so spacious - the downstairs rec room with comfy couch, extra tv and ping pong table were a complete surprise to us! The adults and the kids had so much room to hang out and have fun. The kitchen is huge - lots of cooking and cocktail making happened here. Family game night around the extra large dining room table was my favorite. You can't beat the view and we can't wait to come back in summer and enjoy a thawed out lake - although we did have a lot of fun dancing on it while it was frozen solid. Thank you, Troy, for sharing your home with us! Check in/out information was so helpful and he definitely went above and beyond by providing packing tips and local recommendations.

I booked the Lago House for a holiday trip with a group of 9 adults, and we were so impressed by the size of the house — we all felt like we had our own space while still having the chance to hang out in the two generously sized living rooms, and could share meals together at the huge dining table and open kitchen. Since we were there in the winter with snow on the ground, we didn't have as much of a chance to use the backyard, but it's huge and would be amazing in the summertime (same with the two deck levels). We did get a chance to use the hot tub on the lower deck, which was awesome. The lake is so quiet, and the area is removed enough to feel peaceful, while still being accessible to local amenities.
We had an issue with heating in the living area of the house upon our arrival due to the recent deep freeze in New York, but Troy was extremely responsive and helpful, and had maintenance technicians sent out immediately to rectify the issue. He was kind enough to check in several times to ensure we were comfortable once the issue was fixed.
This is a wonderful rental for a large group or family, and I'd definitely book it again if we return to the area in the future.

The house was great! VERY clean, and lots of room for everyone to have space or gather together. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with pots/pans and other necessities. The access to the lake was perfect! We brought kayaks and used the rowboats, the boys enjoyed fishing. We spent a beautiful day in Cooperstown and visited the Baseball Hall of Fame (about 40 minutes away). The hot tub was great! We had AWESOME weather all week!
The only thing I would recommend is to bring your own beach/soccer chairs if you want to sit by the fire pit. There are benches (which become a little uncomfortable after a while) and the two chairs that are there are not in great shape. We had a great time making smores, but I wish we had more comfortable seating.
Troy is very responsive and my gang asked if we could go back (which is a HUGE compliment!). Great place to unwind and have a true vacation from everyday life!

Perfect place for our yearly girls trip!
We spent a wonderful weekend on this property. From the ample room inside of the house, to the gorgeous sunrise from the dock, to the much needed hot tub relaxation on the deck, this house made our weekend stay perfect! The views from the back yard and decks are beautiful. We would absolutely stay here again!

Quiet and relaxing
Very quiet spot on lake. Nice to sit outside on the back deck overlooking the lake and watch the sunset. There is a hot tub, but weather was way too hot to enjoy it. About an hour from Albany and half hour from Oneonta.

Even Better the 2nd Time
This was our 2nd time staying at Troy's place and it was excellent yet again. If you're a fresh water angler, the fishing is really good. Large Mouth Bass and pickerel are hearty and abundant. We also came across a few Small Mouth Bass and yellow perch during our weekend. Bald Eagles and Osprey hovering around the lake everyday. The night time sky is quite a sight as well, especially if you're from an area with a lot of light pollution like we are. This is a nice change of scenery. I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Relaxing Retreat
Our stay at Lago house was great. The property was much larger than expected. We loved the the open layout of the main floor where we could make meals in the kitchen while still being able to engage with the group in the large dining area. The kitchen had all the basics, we did bring our own spices, oils and a pan though. Anything we forgot we were able to pick up at the local supermarket, farm stand and Walgreens. Otherwise plenty of dishes and flatware for our large group. There are two large furnished decks where you can sit and enjoy the lake view. It was really beautiful seeing all the fall colors of the trees. Our large group of two families really loved the second living space downstairs that had a huge comfortable couch to lounge out on. There are washer dryer machines and all the detergents which were really convenient. The best part of the house is the backyard. It's huge and leads right up the the lake with a small dock. A quick exit of the house from either of the 2 decks or kitchen side door can lead you down some steps to the gorgeous lake. There is a fire pit with plenty of seating. We easily set up a bonfire with all the firewood that was stored in the barn. The kids played on the swing set and threw rocks in the water. There were two rowboats to use, perhaps if we stayed in the summer months we would use it. The bedrooms were made up of newer beds and pillows and soft sheets. There were plenty of towels and hot water for our large group. Overall a lovely property with plenty of space with gorgeous views. We were really able to feel so comfortable and relaxed in the Lago House. We hope to have the chance to visit again.

Very nice private and relaxing stay
The property was very nice, quiet, and relaxing. Row boat was utilized. We rented kayaks per owner's suggestion (great call). Fishing was a highlight. Very nice open, well maintained back yard leading up to the lake (see their pics) where we pitched tents. Owner is a strong texter, emailer.. easy check in/out with not a ton of pressure for rules. Firewood was provided in abundance (thanks very much!). 20 min drive to town with plenty of shops (big box retailers and small town businesses too).
The downstairs was a little damp (being by the lake), and can trap odors (e.g. if previous tenants smoked). With no AC, it could hang on you, but nothing a few candles didn't solve :)
All in all, had a really good time. We got to hang with our family + another family and our kids + dogs. Really a pleasure to have stayed at the Lago house. Thank you Troy for having us!

Fantastic Lake Escape!
What a wonderful place to escape to! The massive house and lot are perfect for a large family like ours. Our four boys never slowed down, enjoying all of the natural beauty of the lake, building a campfire and roasting marshmallows, heading out in the rowboat, playing wiffle ball in the backyard, and tossing the frisbee. The layout of the house allows for everyone to have space, while the large eat-in kitchen area encourages relaxed family meals. We played lots of board games in the evenings and spent our early mornings on the back deck, listening to the frogs and enjoying our coffee. The lake is quiet and clean. Troy was a perfect host and communicator. We are hoping to return again, next year!

Fun and peaceful Lago
We had a such a fun and peaceful time at the Lago House. The 2 large living rooms and 2 large decks allowed for spreading out and relaxing. We kayaked, had fires in the lakeside firepit, made s'mores, played games, visited breweries and had a huge, delicious breakfast at Buck Hill Farm. Our 11/2 year old grandson loved the swingset and sitting on the bench at the dock watching the wildlife. The owner went out of his way to communicate when the VRBO site was not working for me and checked in via text when we were there to see if we had any questions. Just a fantastic family get-away and we would definitely return!

Great Scenery. Great Fishing. Great Times.
Even before we booked, Troy was easy to communicate with and very fast to reply to any questions I had. Our group has done many trips like this over the years and this one ranks up towards the top of the list. The house/property were clean and as advertised. The lake is big enough to spend a few days fishing with friends while still being small enough to feel secluded and peaceful. The fishing is good with multiple species to target and the wildlife is quite enjoyable as well. We had multiple bald eagle sightings in the evenings as well as osprey and hawks flying around during the days. The clear night sky was quite impressive from both the back deck and down by the dock with stars reflecting off the glass like surface of the water. The check in/out process was simple and the drive up from Long Island wasn't too much to handle either. I cant say enough good things about this rental property. Take advantage of this gem and book a trip for yourself!

Great weekend getaway
We (3 families w/ kids) had a great time at Lago House. The house was clean and had plenty of space for all of us with numerous bed and bath rooms. We took one of the boats out, made smores (fire wood was available in the barn) and relaxed in the hot tub. Troy, the owner made the check in and check out process super easy. We hope to be back soon.

Early Fall Getaway
We enjoyed the clear lake water, clean home with lake views and very private location. Camp fires in the evening were fun but you must bring your own wood. The lower level (lake view and walk out with two bedrooms) was clean with no visible sign of mold or mildew but did have a musty smell. Internet service was strong and supported four people working at one time. We hope to return.

Great for groups
This stay was perfect for the 7 of us that went. We had more than enough space to accommodate all of us and this home offered a lot to do. We enjoyed rowing out on the lake as they have two boats that we were allowed to use. We played out in the yard, made smores, and relaxed in the hot tub when we were all tired out. Great getaway for friends and family

Peaceful, Wonderful Experience
The property is beautiful. Out of the way and private, yet not far from restaurants, tourist attractions, stores. The administration is helpful and very friendly with any questions or needs. The house is large with 2 living rooms and 2 decks so there is plenty of room to be together of solitary for reading, etc. The lake is wonderful and a beautiful view. Row boats and Hot tub - an added plus. Our overall experience was wonderful.

Wonderful property for a family vacation
The Lago House provided plenty of room for our extended family of 10. The bedrooms were all good sized and the common areas and decks were were more than ample for 10 people. The backyard gently sloping into the lake allowed easy access for the kids and made it easy for the adults to supervise their activities. We've been to Lake Titus for two vacations because the lake is quiet, uncrowded, large enough to explore but small enough for the kids to feel safe. We highly recommend this property

This house is great for families. We had 8 of us stay very comfortably. The bedrooms were all clean and bathrooms all in good condition. The house is right on the lake with great views from the balconies. You can fish off the dock or take a row boat out on the lake. Bring bug spray though. 😄 Very peaceful place in countryside. Tv's all worked and good cell reception, Huge yard to play games by the lake. Troy, the owner, was great. He answered every call and text leading up to our stay and during our stay. Answered all questions. Thanks!
