We just love this cozy cabin! Tucked away on 10 acres (no neighbors in sight), yet close to all places of interest. Great place to bring your dog!

This property was everything that they stated it was on the verbal app. If you're looking for a secluded place to stay this is definitely the place to go"

A beautifully renovated home with country charm in an amazing setting. The Blue Ridge Mountains in full view from the covered front porch, the sun setting over the mountains, the train rattling down the tracks and the fireflies over the fields made for the perfect stay in Luray. The beds are very comfortable, the bedrooms are tastefully decorated, the bathroom is renovated and the kitchen is well-furnished. Darling farm house! Look forward to staying here again.

Loved the location…privacy, spacious.
Charmingly decorated with all needs met.
Hosts is readily available and accommodating.
Close to so many “treasures”… Luray Caverns for all you physical science thrill seekers, Skyline Drive for all you scenic hikers, plenty of charming shops, breweries/wineries, with the small town charm of Mayberry.
Fabulous family setting.
Highly recommend!

We loved the property! It was the perfect weekend getaway for us. Nice and quiet and had all the amenities we could possibly want. Host was immensely gracious and fast to respond to any questions we had before arrival. We will definitely return!

I had the most blissful, relaxing stay. The house is charming, comfortable, and well taken care of. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. My pups loved the wide open yard and we all enjoyed the front porch. It would have been perfect if the front porch had rockers or a porch swing, but it was great anyway. We used the firepit and hot tub each night. It was a short drive to Luray, but the quietness that we experienced at this home was amazing. There were many moments when the only sound was the wild turkey gobbles or the whippoorwill singing. The nearby train crossing added to the experience and I loved it all. I am an airplane geek, and this home was on the pathway to Dulles or Reagan International. I spent hours each night watching the planes turn on their landing lights as they cleared the mountain range. I know, I'm a nerd, but it was wonderful. I hope to make this a yearly spring getaway.

The cottage was an ideal basecamp for exploring Luray and the Shenandoah Valley parks. Close enough to get to stores and restaurants but still feels away from anyone else. I can't recommend this house enough - will be looking for an opportunity to return.

A perfect place to unplug for a couple days. Stores and thrifting just a short drive, very convenient. Defiantly recommend this house for everyone.

This property is well worth the stay. My family and I stayed twice in 2023. We will be straying at least two more times in 2024! It is well worth the money.

Spent the long weekend at this wonderful place for my burthday. We absolutely loved it!! It was close to town and the hot tub was the best part!!! We will definitely go back for another stay.

Went to stay for Thanksgiving with my wife and two kids (5&3). Large lot to play on, great fire pit with supplied wood, very clean hot tub for the adults. 10 minutes from the Caverns and downtown.
Can't wait to go again.

This is a property when you leave you wish it was yours! Exceeded our expectations and was everything we thought it would be and more. As others have noted, interior is much better in person than some of the photos may lead you to believe. As described, everything is new, clean, and very functional. Hats off to Gerald for restoring this older farm cottage to preserve historical character and also achieve modern function and comfort. It is not grand, but perfectly done in character and scale. Its quaint, comfortable, and cozy. Perfect size and vibe for our family of 5. Though we did watch TV for a bit, the property somehow pulled us (including our 3 kids) all towards more enriching ways to pass time - reading, napping, kids playing in yard, relaxing in jacuzzi...unrushed and left feeling renewed. The nearby railroad is the cherry on top....adds perfect touch of charm and sense of place. My only feedback would would be that the living room could be more comfortable and ample. Very nice and clean couch and chair, but not very comfortable nor ample enough for more than 3-4 people. Again, I was more drawn to read on the front porch or take a walk to the train than I was to watch TV, but comforting and inviting common areas are important in vacation homes. By no means a deal killer. We'll be back!

We hiked every day at Shenandoah National Park and returned exhausted to recover on the front porch of the cottage. This place was very welcoming and comfortable with plenty of space for our dachshund to run. We had everything we needed to relax and gear up for the next day. Most importantly, the host was very responsive to our questions. I would recommend this rental for solitude and peace.

We had a great long weekend at the property. Between the views, hot tub and fire pit, we left with our hearts full and souls renewed. The fur baby loved all the new smells and land to run, play and roll. Cant wait to come back and test out the claw foot tub.

The property, including house amenities, and yard were perfect! Lots of space! We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit after a long day if exploring. We loved this place so much that I have already rebooked for December! Thank you and well done!

Completely enjoyed the secluded location with the mountain views and an occasional freight train rolling by. The house was everything we needed, quiet, comfortable and well equipped. If you enjoy historic sites, this place is close to many for all ages to enjoy. Be sure to try the BBQ just up the road from the Luray Caverns, perfect for delicious lunch or diner. This was our second time renting this property and we plan on returning in the future.

We stayed here and did a bike trip to wineries one day and a big hike the next day. Awesome to let the dog chase bunnies and beautiful sunset from the hot tub. House looks nicer in person than pics and very clean.

Living room furniture is hard (exposed wooden frame) and uncomfortable, is worn and has some holes in it, and needs to be replaced. The house was not clean as you would expect for the price - the floors were dirty and were dusty in areas under and behind furniture and the TV. The TV remotes had no usage instructions, so you have to guess and risk having no TV. The beds in the bedrooms were comfortable. The bath shower head water pressure is very poor and was a big disappointment when showering after hiking all day. The property owner does not communicate with you at all after you book online. I asked some basic questions that would have been good to know and got nothing back, leaving me to guess. This is unacceptable. The only email received was the afternoon on the day of checkin providing the door code. I was seriously doubting whether I would have the code in time to provide to others coming from another state by the time they showed up at the house. This created stress on my entire party. There were no other email responses - I mean zero. There is plenty of firewood in the barn about 200 feet the house, but I had to figure that out after I got there because my prior email asking that question never got a response. There were no butane lighters provided in the house, just one partial box of wooden matches. Again, unacceptable. Paper towels were not provided in the kitchen or elsewhere, which is unacceptable for the price you are paying. The home's location offers pretty views. However, train tracks run a short distance from the home, as noted in the online description. Some trains came through Friday, including at night after midnight. A train also came through on Saturday well after midnight. It wasn't quaint. The hot tub is a nice feature. However, we got buzzed a lot by hornets and bumble bees who must have nests nearby.

We had a great relaxing time. The house is secluded and quiet but not far from Luray attractions. Awesome night sky viewing, hot tub, marshmallows over the fire, and acres of land for our dog to explore! We couldn't have asked for more. Great place to get away from it all

The house is just lovely - rustic in aesthetic but also comfortably updated, with a beautiful view of the mountains and great distance from Luray. Gerald was flexible and great to work with. We had a great time.

We loved the little cottage and it was what we expected from the listing. The reason I did not give a 5 star review is because I had to call VRBO multiple times the day of check in because the property manager never responded to my request for check in information. Only received the code about 4 hours before check in which left me a bit panicked that day as to whether we had a place to stay or not. The number the property manager has on VRBO is no longer his phone number and hasn’t been for awhile. Also there was a bit of a fly, wasp and bug problem in and around the house.

The cottage was great, easy to get to and just a short drive to Luray. Messaged the host and was provided the entry code for the front door so we were able to get in upon arrival. Everything was as described, private setting with just a few other houses back the lane the behind the cottage. The cottage was clean and well kept and the hot tub very relaxing. Would recommend this place.

Lovely property in a nice quiet location not too far away from town. The house was cozy and clean and we enjoyed the hot tub. Plenty of firewood to make a nice fire on a chilly night. A little more communication from the owner regarding the stay would have been helpful.. We weren't sure what to do with our trash and I had to call to get the access code to the home.

Absolutely fell in love with this home! We loved everything about the home/property. It felt like home. Being so close to Shenandoah was a plus. Trains and deer on the property were a bonus!

The property was clean and well kept. Gorgeous views in a quiet location. We really enjoyed our stay. One issue is the poor communication with the host. We had some issues with getting the access code for the house and could not get a hold of the owner. The phone number VRBO has for him is wrong and there has been no response to messages sent since early September. As much a I loved the property and location, I'd hesitate to stay here again.

What a beautiful location. It is close to town for restaurants and shopping and close to Shenandoah park for hiking but was out in the country. It was so quiet and peaceful. We loved having the hot tub after hiking all day and the evenings in October are quite chilly so it was perfect. The living room furniture could definitely use an upgrade since it is horribly uncomfortable but it was clean and well maintained and we didn't spend much time in there so it was not a problem for us. Only thing the kitchen was missing was a blender so if you need one bring it or find a cheap one at walmart in town like we did. Also, bring your own TP as there was only a partial roll and no extra. Plenty of towels for showers and hot tub were provided and we really enjoyed our stay here.
