About this house rental
STVR permit# STR 2018-00012
There are many houses in Taos for visitors to choose from, but this one stands out for its authenticity and charm. Built by men from the Taos Pueblo in the 1940's for the artist Charles H. Reynolds and his wife Ruth, it is unique and very lovely.
The home is furnished with many of the original antiques, and the walls are hung with paintings by Reynolds and many of his contemporaries. You will feel as if you have stepped back in time, surrounded by thick adobe walls and hand carved beams in the ceilings. The fireplace crackles with pinion wood fires in the winter, scenting the air with its fragrance.
Modern amenities include a high efficiency heater, high speed internet, comfortable beds, and a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave oven. There is a washer and dryer and supplies available for your convenience.
One bedroom has a queen bed, the small sunroom has a twin bed, and there is a sweet cubby with another twin bed. The bathroom is finished with Mexican tile work and has a tub and a shower. There is a large shady porch for dining in the summer, and a fenced courtyard for privacy.
All this, and only a short walk to great restaurants and galleries. Leave the car parked and stroll around the quiet neighborhood, or to the Taos Plaza for the Farmer's Market and live music.
The Taos Ale House and the very popular Michael's Kitchen are only a block away. This is a new listing so there are only a few reviews, but to see the larger side and it's reviews please go to VRBO #296467. For a large group of up to nine people the entire house can be rented.
Please take note, this house has a unique architecture which includes steps and low doorways in a couple of areas. There is signage to warn of this, but tall people must use caution.

Lovely, well-equipped cottage in quiet location but walking distance to many restaurants and activities. Beautiful courtyard for relaxing in between. Wonderful!

We came in for a concert at Kit Carson Park. The house was perfect for the 3 of us. It was a great location that allowed us to walk, not only to our concert, but shops, restaurants and bars. It was very quiet and we felt safe at night even with all the windows open.

Easy access to historic downtown and isolated from the later day commercial traffic on the south side of town. Very comfortable home with a private courtyard and patio in a quiet neighborhood. A person with mobility issues might have issues with the access to the bathroom.

Loved all the antique furniture. The lilac bush in front courtyard was beautiful. Great location you could walk to plaza if you want. A nice home away from home.

Fantasic long weekend getaway for our family.
The home was quite spacious and offered plenty of space for our teen boys to kick back and lounge. Additionally, the two small yard spaces were great to hang out and allowed our pup to run around. The property was quiet and safe and we didn't experience any problems. We walked to restaurants, shops, and a nearby park. Great location for R&R!
Bonus: Amazing hot water in the shower which was perfect after a long day skiing.
We would stay here again.

Unique and comfortable historic adobe home. More space than we imagined and two great secure outdoor areas for our dog. Easy walk to town for shops and restaurants. Quiet and safe.

This was a true find! We were looking to get away with our eight year old and found this place on Vrbo. The pictures drew us in with their charm and real life didn’t disappoint. Plenty of room for all three of us, warm, cozy and close to town. The little twin alcove with the curtains enchanted our daughter and she spent much time curled up there. Kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. Laura was kind and attentive! A really lovely place to stay - we will be back!

This little spot is just terrific. Really cozy on the rainy nights we had. Large living room. Which is always nice.
Just a quick reminder, there is just one bathroom. It was perfect for old college roommates. It would also be just perfect for a small family.
Laundry on site. Close to Michaels( easy walking distance).
Host kind and caring. It’s a winner.

We very much enjoyed this historic Taos home for a 3 day stay. Walking distance to Bent Street and Plaza/short. The history of the house built in 1945 and its original owner artist Charles Reynolds was very interesting and we enjoyed seeing his artwork in the house. Perfect for 2 people!

Adobe style house - part of a duplex but with very thick walls and we never heard the neighbors. Pretty and private enclosed outdoor space to enjoy Taos' excellent summer weather.
Our family of 4 (2 teens) and small dog were able to spread out into a master bedroom and 2 small areas with twin beds separate from the LR/Kitchen.
Ample parking.
Well stocked with everything we could have needed and strong internet.
Easy walk to the square.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in May. The house was clean, comfortable, and quiet even though there were renters living in the adjacent unit. The house has been modernized, however, the style and furnishings reflect the tastes of the original mid-century owners. The interior is darker than the photos suggest. We appreciated the location as it was close to the plaza and nearby restaurants. As it is just off the main highway it is easy to drive to sites that are further afield.

I greatly enjoyed staying at this historic and authentic Taos home while taking a workshop at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with many special touches. Very clean. Loved taking naps on the daybeds. Beautiful art. The owner was attentive, helpful and delightful. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you like being close to the action, but just far enough away to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing break. I would definitely stay here again.

The place was wonderful, centrally located (5 min walk to the plaza), clean, just as described. We arrived super late and the house manager was responsive and had the lights on for us when we arrived. Everything we needed was included. I would highly recommend this place for anyone travelling to the area.
Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Great location and authentic atmosphere in Taos. Property was bigger and better than the photos on VRBO. Large rooms, comfortable bed and furniture, and nice Taos ambiance. I skied at Taos Valley (about 30 min drive) while my wife had easy walking access to plaza, galleries and museums. Would definitely stay again!

The house was perfect, clean, and so close to everything in town.
Unfortunately, our trip was cut short by my teenager having a snowboarding accident.
Will likely stay there again next year.

Beautiful Taos Property
A couple things we really liked: interesting artwork and decor inside, large living room, pretty garden and private courtyard outside, new washer and dryer to use, good central location, and good water pressure in the shower.
Wouldn’t hesitate to rent here again
