We’re a retired couple and we really enjoyed our long-weekend stay at this ground-floor property. It was easy to access, spotless, tastefully decorated, comfortable, and walkable to everything. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook/eat there. There’s ample parking in an adjacent lot that made it easy for us to drive to nearby trailheads. If you’re a light sleeper, use a nighttime sound machine to help reduce the vehicle-traffic noise. We’d definitely stay here again.

This apartment was so cute and the pictures don’t do it justice. Decor is very well appointed and bed is extremely comfortable. It is centrally located and can walk right downtown!

This location was perfect for a quick weekend. Even though it is on the 1st floor, it was very quite (just a little street noise). Within walking distance of downtown Roanoke and many bars/restaurants. Very clean!

Great little place
Cozy cute one bedroom apartment. Everything was clean and functional with a previous century decor that's charming. Building location was difficult to find if not familiar with Roanoke.

Dirty and loud
We were told not to check in until three at the earliest because of the thorough cleaning they had to give the place. And yet, there was dust and grime all over the place, on the fans, in the bathroom, on the carpet which clearly hadn't been vacuumed, in the bathroom vent, and the shower curtain liner was filthy and reeked of mildew. Because this is an older place, we could hear our upstairs neighbor stomping around. And the street noise is really something else. The closeness to downtown was wonderful, but the neighborhood is loud. I had some questions for the owner and received no reply.
If noise is of no concern to you (we actually slept fine with the use of industrial earplugs, but trying to relax or watch something was difficult with sirens and and the citizens of Roanoke's love for thunderous car engines), it is a perfectly efficient place to stay, but we are pretty upset about the filth, especially with the late check-in and the cleaning fee.

Brief Observations for Maximum Future Satisfaction at a Lovely Property:
Beautiful property as pictured; Parking included! BUT: Towels shed; Bath rug wet upon check-in; Dust on bookshelves & ceiling fan blades; Kitchen counter, outside oven door, and wall behind chair in living room had unclean streaks; Faded black stain on right corner of bedspread at headboard; Floors unswept of all debris. Given cleaning fee, I expected a near spotless environment. Otherwise, I would stay again.:-)) Great price and location with all amenities!!

Great location
The property is conveniently located near the Greenways and Downtown Roanoke. We were able to bike from the property one block to the Mill Mountain Greenway. We also walked downtown every night for dinner. The condo was perfect for the two of us. The owner was easy to reach when we had a question. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Great apartment in Roanoke
Jill was friendly and helpful from the beginning of our communications. The unit was easy to find and located very conveniently near downtown Roanoke and right off the highway. The one bedroom apartment had everything I needed for a monthlong stay, including pots and pans, utensils, cleaning supplies, etc. It is located just a few minutes drive from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, and a couple minutes drive from tons of restaurants and stores in downtown Roanoke. There is also a trolley that will take you around Roanoke, although I never tried it. It's a block away from a park with lots of festivals. There is some siren noise as the fire station is a few blocks away, but it never bothered me, if you're sensitive to this you can bring earplugs, but some noise is understandable as the location is very central. The apartment is also about a twenty minute drive from the McAfee Knob and Dragon's Tooth trailheads, both of which are great trails. The apartment was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated, it was everything I needed for my month in Roanoke. I would definitely stay here again!

Central location. Very comfortable apartment, but with some noise issues
My wife and I rented this property for a week during a 5 week road trip to explore central Virginia
The accommodation is a mature property, situated alongside a very busy road. Although the apartment (we had unit D on the first floor) was double glazed, we did not find it possible to have an undisturbed night’s sleep due to the traffic, especially at peak times and with the number of emergency vehicles with sirens sounding using this route. Parking was provided – a permit was available to make use of the adjacent parking lot. Externally, the appearance of the property is very welcoming, and on entering we were most impressed with its cleanliness. The bedroom is well proportioned with plenty of storage. Linens were of a good quality although we found the mattress on the double bed a little soft for our liking. The en-suite bathroom has a shower over a small bath. It worked efficiently and there was always ample hot water at good pressure. There were plenty of soft, fluffy towels for us to use. The living area has a comfortable settee and an arm chair. There is a modern TV with the usual cable package. In the dining area there was a high table and chairs for two. The kitchen has a four ring hob and oven. There is a large fridge / freezer as well as a full sized-dishwasher. There is a washing machine and separate tumble dryer – this is a very useful facility for those renters staying for longer periods of time. All the appliances we used worked well and were very clean. There were modest amounts of crockery, glassware and cutlery. The wi-fi was very effective. Externally there is a small deck to the rear with a table and two chairs.
Other residents were quiet – we didn’t meet any of them during our short stay although the wooden floors mean that you could hear people walking about and using the bathroom. We found the air conditioning effective at keeping the temperature in the apartment cool but it was quite noisy when it came on. Maybe it’s something residents would get used to.
We felt a little uneasy about the personal security to the rear of the apartment. Although the bedroom had a locked door, it opened onto a wooden fire escape. These in turn led to a steel gate, but this could not be locked and was left open. As a result, anyone passing by could access the rear of the property. It would have been good to have the extra reassurance of a secure area to the rear.
A special word of thanks to Jill for the contact leading

clean and comfy
my husband and i spent the weekend here, was very clean on arrival, and we were very comfortable, didn't use the kitchen much, but could have easily prepared meals if needed. we walked everywhere, easy to get downtown, and we also walked to Black Dog Salvage and Grandin Village,-which didn't have lot, but Black Dog was really neat. We also walked to Mass at St . Andrews. I found it easy to make a reservation, we received our security deposit promptly, and the property owners were great to deal with. The only reason I didn't give 5 rating was street noise, we were not expecting that, and we live in downtown Charlotte. Some soundproofing would be helpful, and the lock on the bedroom door to the balcony was not reassuring.

Charm and comfort
We spent a week in Roanoke and found the apartment extremely comfortable and charming!! Building and apartment are extremely well maintained. Apartment has all of the comforts of home. Kitchen has all of the necessities and we were easily able to prepare meals. Appreciated the washer and dryer in the apartment. Location is perfect - within walking distance of downtown area and within easy driving distance of stores and the mountains. This is a perfect place for a couple.

Great getaway
We visited Roanoke to see family there, and found the apartment was very easy to find and navigate from to the homes of our relatives in other parts of the area. On Saturday morning we walked from the apartment a short distance to the downtown farmers and artisans market, and that was delightful. The building itself gives a classic and historic feel, and the one-bedroom apartment was perfect for us as a couple ... very comfortable, complete, and having everything we needed for our two-night stay.
