The secluded location surrounded by beautiful tropical flower gardens lets you enjoy a very private vacation. POI PU is located just 5 minutes from the town of Cruz Bay and its eclectic choices for duty free shopping and fine dining. Another 10-15 minutes will take you to the world famous beaches on the north shore within the VI National Park.
Upon entering the home you will be taken with the open architecture of the great room, dining area with seating for six and full kitchen with all of the features and amenities for preparing snacks to full meals. Opening the three double doors around the perimeter of the home will virtually double the entire living space with the addition of the wrap around decks with lounge chairs and casual seating. We had an awesome time in St. John, and. Poi Pu villa was in a great location. Only 5 mins to Cruz Bay, we explored all the surrounding neighborhoods on foot, gaining beautiful vantage points of the island around every corner. A few days of our week stay (July) were incredibly hot so the dipping pool and rooms with AC were key. We learned to time our outings with the scheduled power outages in the PMs. We couldn’t quite figure out how to keep the open air living and kitchen mosquito free, but came close! Many many memories for years to come, hope to be back again some day!!

This is a great spot for a family or two couples. Small but well appointed with a fantastic outdoor space and great views. The pool was great with small kids and the hammock gets shade pretty much the whole day.
Only a few minutes drive from Cruz Bay but far enough away to be quiet and secluded. There were beach chairs and some toys as well as a cooler to use which was fantastic.
While we had a small issue with the water turning off, it was handled promptly and communication was excellent throughout the arrival and the rest of the week when we needed anything.

Our stay at Poi Pu was amazing. As beach lover's, Saint John is the most beautiful place on Earth. (In our opinion anyway.) Our favorite "restaurant" was staying in, grilling steak and veggies, sitting on the deck looking over our view of Saint John, with a dip in the pool to cool off. Amazing!
While no ac in the house except the bedrooms, we learned quickly how to "work" the house to keep it as cool as possible, as well as how to keep the bugs at bay. Our 2 weeks flew by so fast, and is now a memory that we will never forget. I have so many pictures of the stunning landscape around the house as well as all the little chicks, birds and hummingbirds, but didnt get the iguana as he was to quick. So, if you are a stuffy, AC hotel type this might not work for you, however, if you want a secluded, peaceful, unbelievable beauty, nature inspired, relaxful vacation, this IS the spot!

Jackie was a great host. Answered all our questions almost immediately. We had a major storm blow through and had some minor issues she addressed. The house is well laid out and perfectly located. 5 mins drive to Cruz Bay. Beautiful views of Chocolate Hole. We did very little cooking, but the kitchen looked well stocked. I totally recommend Pui Po.

4 adult friends stayed here. Plenty of room and house could easily accommodate additional guests. Great views and amenities. Loved having use of the beach chairs, great patio deck, kitchen and sleeping areas.

We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The house had everything we needed and we especially loved the large deck with lots of seating. Would stay again.

We had a wonderful time on St John. This property has a beautiful view and outdoor space and is less than 10 minutes drive to town. The layout of the house is great with two private bedrooms connected by a jack and jill bathroom plus a loft. The kitchen and bathroom are getting a little dated but function just fine. The owner and host were great to work with and very responsive.

We stayed in PoiPu for the first time in March of 2023. This was not our first time on St. John, so we chose this villa knowing the location and proximity to things like Cruz Bay, and the views! This villa was absolutely perfect in every way! The photos online don't really do it justice, as it is even more beautiful in person. Jackie was extremely helpful with booking, to start with. Gave us great recommendations for things to do around the island, as well as connections for things like rental cars, excursions, etc. The villa itself is in a GREAT location in Chocolate Hole, with spectacular views. Inside, it had everything we needed, and more. Plenty of room, very comfortable beds and furniture. We used the A/C in the bedroom only a couple of nights, as the temperatures were comfortable. Opening up all of the doors to the decks brings all of the outdoors inside, and gives you a wonderful breeze as well as spectacular views from wherever you are in the villa. The pool was PERFECT. Crystal clear water, perfect to jump into after a day at the beach. The outdoor shower was another great surprise that I didn't know about until we got there! The kitchen has EVERYTHING. We used the beach chairs daily, and they were all in great condition. The only thing I wish we had there was more time! A week was just not enough. We would love to return to PoiPu again! Thank you to Jackie for hosting us for another incredible St. John vacation!

This is a beautiful, well-stocked house with incredible views from the wrap around deck. You really don't want to leave after having breakfast outdoors while viewing the Caribbean.
We were very happy with the quality of the furnishings and maintenance of the house.
Two things to consider:
1) The house is only five minutes from Cruz Bay but you MUST have a car to get around. Keep in mind that you will be driving on the left side (former Danish colony) on narrow, winding, extremely steep roads, often all at once. It is not for the faint of heart.
2) We were surprised to hear upon our arrival that the tap water is not potable and can only be used for bathing and doing dishes. However, we were informed that Love City Ice in Cruz Bay sells 1 gallon jugs for $2 and refills for $1. There is also a 24 hour water dispensing machine in the Provisions parking lot for 60 cents per gallon. We incorporated that in our daily routine and it didn't materially interfere with our vacation.

The lovely home on the hillside met and far exceeded our expectations. We were extremely pleased and would love to return.

The place is just as listed. We did note some aging issues such as the door handle and the shower but other then that we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Nice location but not really walkable to town. We were hoping our kids would have an easier time walking to town. The house was rustic which was great for us. We enjoyed the pool and deck. The kitchen was wonderful and we used the Weber grill almost daily. Also, walking the roads around the property was fun and we discovered some incredible views!! This location is perfect for any family. Finally, the Dolphin Market is close which was helpful coming home from the beach each day. Thank you for a magical vacation in paradise!!

Beautiful view and very convenient location to Cruz Bay and grocery stores. The small pool was nice to cool off in. Accommodations were very a bit outdated and basic, but I am sure on or above par to other affordable villas on the island. Overall great place. It was pretty hot and humid (July stay). The living area and loft bedroom didn’t cool off very well. Not a lot of breeze. Our 15 year old daughter was able to bear sleeping in the loft with all the fans provided. Not all the doors have screens and with the mosquitos we could leave all of them open. That might have helped a little with air flow. Clothes washer and dryer worked well, but not very conveniently located (outside below the villa). We had issues with ants and mosquitos. Need to keep all opened food in frig or ziplocked at all times. We went through a lot of Off spray, but still were bitten dozens of time by mosquitos while at the villa. The kitchen was stocked ok, but not great. No working can opener. Be prepared to pay a LOT for groceries. The owners were great to work with and super responsive.

We enjoyed staying at PoiPu! The views were perfect and the location was close to town and not a far drive to the beaches. The property was exactly as described and true to pictures. The communication with Jackie, the owner, and the property management was excellent and helpful. We would recommend a stay at PoiPu!

Great stay during carnival week
Close enough to town but very quiet. Beach chairs and well stocked kitchen supplies. Wish we would've had one more bath towel, there were only 4 and we had 5 in our party. Also one more roll of paper towels/tp would've been great. Bedrooms well air conditioned and nice big shower! Hammock and pool and outside deck with beautiful views. Overall great stay, would recommend to anyone wanting to be close to Cruz Bay and restaurants, as long as you have a jeep. Taxis won't come up the road but will drop you below. You can walk to the Westin if you are brave and in good shape!

Very nice 2 BR in good location
Very nice and well kept property in a good location with nice view. The two bedrooms are nice and air conditioned. The kitchen, living room and dining area are all very comfortable, as was the wrap around deck. The pool and hammock were very nice. My son slept in the loft, which is not air conditioned, and was eaten up very badly by mosquitoes the first night. You will need to use all of the fans in the loft blowing on you to keep the bugs at bay. Nice house, but wouldn’t recommend sleeping in the loft.

2nd time
It is a perfect location, lots more use of pool with 7 year old. Only downside was the heat and breeze didn’t pass through house as it did on previous stay or on most reviews. But that’s probably my luck. Definitely recommend.

We are a family of 5 (8, 13, 15, and parents) and stayed here for 8 days. Plenty of room for everyone although of course loft is open if you require high privacy. The house is clean and convenient to grocery, gas, and Cruz Bay shops and restaurants. The view is tranquil as is the location with no other houses directly in view except for what’s down the hill closer to the water, etc. Although we used AC in bedrooms at night the common areas were perfectly cooled by opening big doors to the sea breeze (and I live with some people who are hot-natured and they were fine!).
Some basic leftover spices, etc available and all cooking utensils I needed were there. We appreciated the beach chairs and toys and did use the washer once. Beautiful flowers and trees with more hummingbirds that I’ve ever seen at once around the porch. Only one glitch with Wi-Fi and I was happy to stop trying to do a little work. Otherwise multiple streaming devices worked with no issues.
If you’re a first-timer to St John it’s worth noting that it does take some prep. As another review noted the island uses cisterns for water and the tap is not drinkable, so plan to conserve and supply drinking water. Parking in Cruz Bay is precious so don’t go thinking you’ll pull up and get a spot for dinner right away—however, if you rent a car they let you park at their lot and walk. You’ll want to do that to take advantage of the entire island as there are too many beaches to hit! Definitely need a Jeep as we needed that 2nd gear a couple times to get up a hill. The groceries aren’t always going to have exactly what you planned to get and understandably they’re pricey. To counter that I brought a suitcase full of our staples—snacks, nonperishables, etc since we’re budget travelers. If you have your heart set on a beach arrive at parking no later than 9:00 am or change plans. Reef Bay Trail is definitely worth it but you’ll feel it for days after :) Love City BBQ near the house was amazing and we were very disappointed we could only go once! Flyaway VI is a great charter boat company we used and ReeftoPeak at Maho was great for paddle boards.
When we return, we’d definitely be repeat visitors to this house and appreciate the chance to spend our 20th anniversary here. Maybe we’ll see you back for 25!

Our stay was wonderful. We were provided with all the amenities we needed. Loved watching the sunrises from the deck.

This was the perfect location with breath-taking views and extras (huge porch, hut covered hammock, wading pool) and it made our first trip the best ever in St. John’s!! All with the best communication from our owners that made everything seamless!!! This is a gem!

Wonderful Stay
We stayed here for a week and the location was absolutely perfect! View from the deck was spectacular!
Communication with Jackie and Beth was smooth and they were both super responsive. The house had all the amenities needed and we were able to use the grill and fully equipped kitchen to stay in a few nights after long beach days. And the beach chairs were a huge bonus! I didn't realize there was a cistern system so the water situation was unexpected but we were able to stock up at the Dolphin and all was good. Cannot wait to go back to St. John - already missing coffee with a view!

The home was beautiful in a picturesque location. The owners were helpful, very glad they suggested getting a Jeep. Beth was a perfect informative welcome person. The one thing I guess we should have expected was the water supply on an Island. St. John uses cisterns. So, I would suggest you buy water right away for drinking.

My family had an amazing time here. They were very accommodating even when it realized I booked the property a day later than I should have. They helped me find a one night stay on a busy Memorial day weekend. The home and grounds were beautiful and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to visit St. John. Thank you for a memorable vacation!

Perfect getaway
Our stay at Poi Pu was exactly what we were looking for - perfect location, the house is beautiful and the views and atmosphere were super relaxing. We loved waking up and ending our nights out on the deck or in the hammock. We also appreciated the great communication and recommendations from the owner.

Excellent location and perfect for relaxation
A little slice of tranquility at Poi Pu. From start to finish, this was the perfect getaway. Lots of space to enjoy morning coffee on the deck with the trade winds and view. Nice walk to the grocery store for every day needs. Loved the private pool to cool off in the afternoon. Thank you Jackie and Ali.

Perfect location, wonderful home!
My family loved staying at Poi Pu. We had the privilege of staying for 9 amazing nights. This home has great views of Chocolate Hole and the salt ponds as well as the tropical hillsides all around. There is a grill and the kitchen has everything you would need. We bought fresh fish one day from a vendor in Coral bay and had an amazing dinner on the wrap around deck overlooking the water. The bedrooms were air conditioned and there is a very cool shower made from local stone I assume. The home is just past the Westin although we never did venture there as I believe they are closed to outsiders during Covid. The location really is perfect. Just far enough from town that you feel totally private, but 5 minutes and your at the one of two close by markets, and the heart of Cruz Bay is just down the road. My daughter and I went hiking several times, there are wonderful trails throughout the island. We really liked Annaberg Sugar Plantation. Check out the ruins and then take the beach trial a mile or so to get to great snorkeling and a secondary trail that leads to the original plantation owners home. It is up on the hillside with great views. There is a bit of incline to the ruins of the old home, maybe not good on a rainy day.
We had many amazing meals- Lobster at Morgan's Mango and The Lime Inn were both wonderful. Skinny legs may be the best value on the island with a fantastic vibe, and lunch at Miss Lucie's is a must! Mahi Ruben with stunning views of Coral Bay. We enjoyed many others as well, didn't have one bad experience. Just remember you are on vacation, things go slower in the islands especially when the restaurants are a bit short staffed after Hurricanes and Covid. Get a drink take in the atmosphere and enjoy your 90 min lunch.
Homeowner was prompt and helpful. And the property manager check up on us throughout the stay, but fortunately for her there was nothing that we needed. But it was nice to know she was there if we did.
Lastly, definitely get a 4 wheel drive rental. We did see people walking the road to town. But the island has so much to offer and the roads are extremely steep throughout. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle incase of rain.
We cannot wait to come back to St. John it had been many years since our last trip. It was so nice to see how far the island has come with rebuilding. We definitely would stay at Poi Pu again, and would recommend it as well!

Wonderful home on beautiful island
Four of us stayed for two weeks at this property and had an incredible time. The house has a wonderful view, really comfortable for 4 people, probably fine for a few more. We loved the wraparound porch and airy living room with a view of the bay. Perfect home base for the island. You'll definitely want a car if you stay here though. There are a few walkable places, for example Hart bay -- a 15 minute walk -- is a beautiful and wild seashore, not a beach though. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very welcoming.

Good option for St John
Location was good for access to Starfish Market and easy run to town center and northshore beaches. Kitchen and basics were fine. One screen door was broken, needs replacing. Gas grill was great, brand new. Need beach chairs replaced.
Good find for party of four.
