Great place for friends and family. Only downfall is you have to pick up keys 20 mins away. You can also hear the traffic on the highway. Otherwise great location with all the bells and whistles.

Fantastic location, plenty of parking. Easy to the mountain and local attractions.

Great location. Overall a good stay that served our needs.

I would stay here again. We spent 3 winter nights in this two story unit. It was ski-lodge cozy, clean and well furnished. Very private and quiet since it’s at the back, even with the main road on that side. We have stayed at other units in this older complex so I knew they could be cold in winter; I brought a space heater to use and we were all comfortable, but without it we probably would have been a bit chilly. The upstairs floors creak, so if you are a light sleeper you will want to sleep upstairs, rather than in the downstairs bedroom :-)

This is our second time staying at this condo. Its a great location and my family loves the space.

Great location. Very nice. Two minute Walk to restaurants great value for the money. We would go back.

I would suggest a different key system driving 30 minutes out of the way to pick up the key and then to drop it off without warning ahead of booking makes it to where we will not rebook. This is a major inconvenience especially in winter weather. There was also hair and dirt in the beds, sinks and bathtubs. The only positive was the proximity to the ski bowl

Thanks for a great rental. It was well maintained, great central location in Government Camp and exactly what we needed for a great time on the mountain.

Short weekend stay
We had a very comfortable stay in Knotty Pine. The condo is rustic but very clean. It was very cold when we arrived and took much of the first evening to warm everything up. After that it was cozy and comfortable. We also took advantage of the wood burning fireplace. Kitchen was well stocked-we made two meals. Beds were comfortable. Only downside there is they could use some new bedding. The condo is located in a great spot with easy access to the main drag in Govy and all the shops and restaurants. The only negative I would mention is that the unit is on the highway side of the building so there is some road noise mostly noticeable in the bedrooms. We always bring a white noise machine so it was fine for us.

Location is about the only thing good about this vacation rental. The check-in/out process is inconvenient because you have to pick-up snd drop-off keys in Welches which doesn’t allow you to leave Govie any other way except Hwy 26 West. There’s a lockbox on-site and the keys should be left there so guests can go to Hood River or Bend directly from the rental. The Edelweiss complex is not safe from a mobility or fire perspective. The walkways are treacherous with ice, sparse handrails, and are extremely dimly lit. Definitely not accessible for anybody with mobility impairments. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean enough, but don’t look UP. There is grime, filth, dust, and cobwebs on all the light fixtures and anything above eye level. Appliances are old, but worked well enough.Apartment is drafty and difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature. The sparse amount of wood they give you is wet and not the easiest to start a fire with. We brought our own wood and we’re extra glad we did. The only semi-comfortable bed is the queen downstairs and it folds you up like a taco. For what this unit costs to rent, they need to make some serious upgrades. We will never stay here again and will opt for Collins Lake since it’s only a little more and way way way more comfortable, safe, and clean.

Very loud, very dark, very over-priced
Hwy 26 is a stones throw away. Temps were in the 90's with no A/C. If window was open, you could barely hear others talking around the dinner table. Not enough natural light, and no floor lamps to read in the recliners. False advertising on some spices- only salt and sugar in cupboard. No pepper even. Come on!
Bunk beds were broken down- should only be used by children or light young adults.
Fees weren't fully disclosed. Definitely not worth it.

While the property was well stocked with dishes, and plenty of places for people to sleep, it was lacking in a few other areas: Cleanliness and quality of towels (and only one towel per person), no towel hooks in downstairs bathroom, really watered down hand and laundry soap, garbage under bathroom sink, dirty pots and pans in cabinet, no extra garbage bags. While we had a great time, and weren't expecting luxury, these simple things are what make guests comfortable. We also noticed a key box outside the unit, it would have been much more convenient to use that rather than driving into Welches for the check in/out process.

Great location
This house is conveniently located between all the restaurants and the summit ski area. The kids had a blast sleeping on bunk beds and playing video games in the play room

Great place
We loved the place, my kids had a blast in the bunk room, the downstairs tv only got about five channels, but the bunk room has EVERYTHING a kid could want!
The walls are a little thin, so just anticipate a little creaking when people are coming down the stairs, and the downstairs shower accumulates condensation that drips cold water on your head.
Overall it really was a great place, excellent location, extremely clean and well kept, the kitchen is stocked with every utensil you could need, the man I spoke with at check in was great, the beds were comfy. Even with the water in the shower and the loud stairs I think they deserve 5 stars

We were looking forward to a wonderful time at Mt Hood to do some skiing. We found Knotty Pine to be quite a cold, drafty rental during our stay. We were there in winter and it was between the 24 degrees and 40 degrees outside. We are used to keeping the heat at 68 degrees at our home and feeling comfortable, but even at 77 degrees on the NEST thermostat, it felt like 65 degrees. This was particularly so on the first floor. The upstairs bathroom has no heating vent and was freezing at all times. I suspect there is very little insulation in the walls. Our friends chose not to stay a second night because it was so cold on the first floor. Condo has a NEST thermostat. During the second night, we were locked out of using the NEST by someone remotely. This limited us to setting the thermostat between 62-70 degrees. Suddenly we needed a 5 digit code to set the temperature higher. When we contacted the property management service, we were informed by the service that the thermostat worked fine and got no further help. We toughed out the last night. I corresponded a couple times with the property management service to try and get some apology or compensation for our substandard stay. I got no response from despite using the email that they responded to as we were planning the trip. Overall an unsatisfactory stay.

Cold!
The unit (Knotty Pine) continually struggled to stay warm, even with a fire going. We were wearing almost as many layers inside as when we were skiing! The thermostat read the temp incorrectly indicating that it was 80 when it was nowhere near. Not sure where the temp gauge was located but it did not give an accurate reading for the living spaces.
FYI- Lots of off leash dogs running around. Fine if you are not scared of dogs and have a dog who is a OK with other dogs.
Will not return.

Great location and bunk room for kids
We came with two sets of twins — they loved the bunk room. Six beds total! The grownup rooms were fine - comfy queen beds. The kitchen was functional. The fireplace was a nice bonus. The condo is a bit dark but we were only there at night so that didn't matter to us. Great location to use as a base for a day on the mountain and we were able to walk to dinner.

We stayed at Knotty Pine Condo in Government Camp on Christmas Eve and Christmas night. It was wonderful. My husband and I and for adult kids had a great time. The Condo was perfect. We loved the fireplace in the living room and kitchen area and absolutely loved the bunk room. We all slept there Christmas Eve. The place was clean and the kitchen well stocked. The location was perfect and we skied Timberline on Christmas day.

We enjoyed our stay here. There is lots of privacy for 3 couples. The bunk room is fun. Seeing all those bunks and thinking about how much fun kids can have there, made my day. We liked the natural wood in the unit and all the photos of the area and historical posters.

Overall good, a little rundown but good. The location is great, with stores & equipment rentals near by. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils/coffee. No salt/pepper. The living area is small but cozy. Lots of blankets :) The water pressure needs to be fixed because the downstairs bath turns freezing cold if the upstairs bath turns on. Exactly 10 towels, lots of soap but bring your own shampoo. TV and board games were great! The patch job on the umbrella needs to be re-done.

Great location in the heart of Government Camp, with an awesome rustic decor. Well-stocked, clean, and a wonderful staff at check-in. My only grumble was the per- person rate (which I have never encountered) increased the price beyond what we normally pay.
