The house is very charming and comfortable especially the beds! We slept very well! It's not too far from all the places we wanted to visit (Bar Harbor & Acadia State Park). The area is quiet and relaxing and the host, Ray, is very nice and easy to communicate with. The water pressure took a bit to fully kick in but that's all. Beautiful place to stay. Loved the house!

We spent a week in this house while visiting Acadia at peak season. We were 5 adults and 1 dog. The house is a quirky old farm house that was clean and inviting upon arrival. Communication with host worked well and the kitchen was well equipped. Our favorite part was being away from the crowds inside desert island and the close proximity to Lamoine beach - we ended up going there every morning and every night.

Great location half-way between Winter Harbor and Bar Harbor. The house is nicely decorated, spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. It's located in a very pretty, quiet neighborhood. The sun room was perfect to set up a puzzle table. We had a camp fire one nit in the fire pit. We would definitely love to stay there again.

Everything about this property was as expected. Quaint and peaceful. The house was clean and fit our family perfectly. Ray was very kind and helpful throughout the process. We very much appreciate all he and his wife did to make this vacation possible for us and our fur babies 💕

The house is as described, old and with lots of character. Kitchen is completely updated and stocked with more cooking supplies than any other house we have rented. The syn room always had a nice breeze. The girls hung out in there while the guys took over the living room. Would have liked another comfy chair in the sunroom, but you can't have everything. Great having a washer and dryer to use. Just far enough away from Acadia to get out of the crowds and easy to go to town for supplies.

My family and I stayed on the property for a week while visiting Arcadia National Park. We had adults, teens, and children all with us. The house was clean and lovely! We enjoyed the location. Any communication with the owners was prompt and we had no problems. The house is a beautiful old farmhouse. It was clean and cozy. It was nice to come home from long days exploring and hiking to the home. Thank you for opening up your home to us! We would highly recommend.

Smart Option for Acadia NP
Really enjoyed the property and proximity to the park. A more affordable alternative, plenty of space for 2 families on a lovely street. A farmhouse that accommodated our two families for the week. Owner is accessible (lives down the street) and very nice.

June Family Trip
We loved staying in the farmhouse and appreciated its charming character. The location was perfect! Just close enough to venture into Acadia and relax among the outskirts. The lupine field was gorgeous and we enjoyed watching the fireflies dance above it in the evenings. The neighbors were very friendly and we would recommend this stay for anyone who appreciates the simple things in life!

Perfect spot for exploring Acadia National Park
The property had everything we needed and was the perfect size for two families traveling together. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit making s'mores and coming up with old-house stories for our 1850s farm house rental.

Great New England experience
We had a great stay. The hosts are very accommodating with great communication. A small check-in snafu was remedied quickly and pleasantly. Conveniently located to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and Ellsworth. There is a small airport nearby so an occasional plane will fly over kind of low, but all we saw were small single prop planes, no jumbo jets. The few planes did not bother us at all. Other than the occasional plane, the area was quiet and low key , which we prefer. The house was clean and most of the house is well maintained. The yard is well maintained as well with a nice outdoor sitting area and a small vegetable garden. If we area ever in the area again, we will look into staying here, hopefully a longer stay next time. We would certainly recommend staying here to others.

Great Farmhouse
Really cute older farmhouse with character. Outside of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and towns. Ray was great to communicate with and the house provided all of our needs. Would highly recommend this place.

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood
This is an old farmhouse with rather old furniture, but it was sparkling clean and, at least in the kitchen, the appliances were all quite modern. There were some little things that needed fixing, but the owner mostly takes good care of the house. The owner is very quick to respond, except for the one mishap we had when we had not been given instructions on how to obtain the key for the house, despite many messages on VRBO and attempts to call the listed number, but we were lucky that when we arrived at 11 pm, the owner finally picked up the phone and gave us directions along with his cell number. After that, he went out of his way to help when we had any issues. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood, but a bit too far from anywhere you'd want to be. And also a warning that the upstairs bedrooms are only suitable for children, because the ceiling is slanted and very low. Overall, this was a good stay, so thank you, Ray.

Very Comfortable Faemhouse
Everything with our stay here went perfectly. It started well because we arrived after dark but the owner, Ray, had stopped by before we arrived and turned on some lights which made it feel very welcoming. The accommodations were exactly as advertised. There was plenty of space, a fully stocked kitchen and a quirky farmhouse upstairs that we loved. It reminded me of my grandparents' farmhouse that I loved when I was young. We would glafdly stay here again.

Farmhouse Fun
This farmhouse works well for a family visit to Acadia, especially if you have pets. The house is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. Just note that the stairs to the bedroom with the twin beds are rustic and could be difficult for some folks to negotiate.

Beautiful, spacious home.
Our family of five and two dogs loved staying in this home. There was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked w/ everything we needed for nightly lobster boils and all our other meals. The house gets a lovely breeze, is very clean and beautifully decorated. My kids loved exploring all the nooks. Communication with Ray was effortless, he was very helpful steering us around the area. We enjoyed stargazing each night around the fire pit. Short drive to stores, ice cream, Acadia and Lamoine beach. We would love to come for a visit again. Thank you so much Ray!

Perfect farmhouse for our perfect vacation!
We loved staying here at the farmhouse! Perfect location to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The farmhouse was perfect for our family, in total we had 5 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of space in the house. Ray and his wife are such nice people, they made us feel very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this quaint farmhouse for a perfect summer Maine vacation.

Summer vacation
The farmhouse in Lamoine was everything as advertised. My sister and husband met us there from Michigan, we drove up from Boston. We both had our dogs. Everyone had a great time! Very close to Bar Harbor and Acadia . The house was even bigger then expected. Ray was always available ( we didn’t have gas in the grill, called Ray, brought us a new tank in 10 min. ) also gave good recommendations ! Would definitely stay again!

Comment on homeaway fees
I think the homeaway fees charged are high compared to the value offered.

Very cute house and fun for the kids!
We enjoyed staying at the farmhouse! It was plenty big for our family of four and my parents! My parents were on the first floor while my husband and I, along with our kids took the second floor bedrooms. We are tall so the ceilings being slanted was a challenge but not too big of a deal, there were plenty of towels and linens and everything was clean! We went to the Lamoine beach a couple of times during our week long stay, which was free, but no facilities, but it was great to swim and explore the beach for evidence of sea life. We also visited bar harbor a couple of times as well, great restaurants, we liked Blaze and Finback! And the ice cream was awesome too! The farmhouse was comfortable and the kids even had their own place to play in the sun room, we played music there and barbecued and even made a fire at nighttime and ate s’mores! We brought the kiddos bikes but never really used them, the street was on the busier side, but we kept busy anyways so we didn’t notice too much! We also tried out deep sea fishing while we visited in Bar Harbor, that was fun and it was for a few hours where they taught us how to fish and they supplied all of the necessary gear, really nice couple who ran the excursion, Esther and Jim! The kitchen was nice and we made a lot of meals there, they had pretty much everything we needed! Overall, it was a great stay and the owner was super nice and helpful before we rented! Thanks Ray! Your home was very charming! We had fun!

Our second stay at this lovely farmhouse
We returned to this wonderful place in Lamoine because of the quiet and easy access to Acadia including the Schoodic Peninsula. There was a total of 8 of us this time and we never felt crowded or that we couldn’t have quiet time alone. It is a cute place with all that is needed for a wonderful vacation including cooking a lobster dinner. Ray is pleasant to work with and with the hiccups we had, he was prompt in attending to our needs. We would return here for future trips to Maine in a heartbeat. We have only good things to say about it and great memories!!!

Charming historic home
The home is an old renovated home with the charm of an old home but it also has the limitations of an old home as well. The upstairs bedrooms are not accessible for people with any physical limitations. The owner was very nice and responded very quickly to any questions.

Lovely updated Farmhouse
Really enjoyed the updated kitchen. Cozy gas fireplace. And all the wonderful chubby holes in this farmhouse. Brought back wonderful memories for my mom and aunts. The area is very beautiful to explore.

The house was perfect for our family trip!
The farmhouse was perfect for our family! We traveled with 3 kids, 4 adults and our dog and there was more than enough space for all of us. The home is well equipped with everything you need. Thanks to Ray for a perfect week!

Very Clean and Cozy
Very cozy and clean. Just far enough from the traffic of Bar Harbor and Acadia. Friendly neighbors. The house is stocked with anything you might need, sheets towels, pots and pans, etc... Beautiful setting, if you wake up early enough, you can see deer in the field behind the house.

Comfortable and enjoyable with a blender old and new!
We enjoyed all the rooms of the farmhouse, the sunroom for reading and getting away from it all. The kitchen was great with everything necessary to cook, bake, and be together...the cabinets and colors made it easy to prepare meals. It was near Acadia and shopping. I'd recommend this house for either small or large groups. From the outside it seems small, but it goes on and on. We loved it and will return.

What a great trip!
The Farmhouse was all that we had hoped it would be and more! It was clean with a well appointed kitchen. Having 4 bedrooms meant there was plenty of room for everyone without feeling crowded. The house seemed to go on and on and on. Behind every door was another interesting room. The house is located near Acadia as well as restaurants and shopping. It was ideal for our family.

Truly Wonderful!
The "Farmhouse" is wonderful in every way. It's cozy, charming, comfortable and convenient to all the great attractions of the area. Its close to Acadia, both the area in Bar Harbor, as well as Schoodic. The house itself has everything necessary for a great vacation. The kitchen is well appointed and new. Plus the kitchen design compliments the charm of the rest of the house. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of room for the eight in our family. We will definitely return to this wonderful Farmhouse on our next trip to Acadia!

All the comforts of home
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the farmhouse. The house lacked nothing we needed and we had a great time exploring the area. I'm afraid the highlight of the day for the kids was coming back to the farm house! We loved the recommended restaurants (downeast lobster and rosalies pizza). We also drove up to Quoddyhead which we highly recommend. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Our family came from Dubai, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Illinois for a weeklong family reunion. It was the perfect location for 8, including a 2-year old. Ray and his wife brought a crib over and set it up for us upon arrival. We did all our own cooking and found the kitchen very convenient for working together for meal prep and cleanup. Breakfasts and dinners were leisurely and we spent much time sitting around the table laughing and talking. We were in no hurry to get to Acadia. The road had little traffic so we were able to play outside in the yard with the toddler. Nights were dark and quiet and we slept deeply. Elsworth was a quick drive for groceries. We did everything we wanted to do, mountain climbing, hiking, mail boat to the islands, biking, swimming, shopping, Union River Lobster Pot, Jordan Pond House, botanical gardens. Our favorite lunch was at the Seal Cove Goat Farm sitting outside with pizza from the brick fired oven and walking among the affectionate goats. Thanks for the great suggestion! It was a very good week and a great headquarters for our family reunion.

We had a wonderful week at the farmhouse. What a comfortable house, full of charm and nooks and crannies! Our six grown children were with us, and fit very comfortably into the house while feeling as if they had their own space. The doors between the rooms really helped to keep noise down and give privacy. For instance, the upstairs queen bedroom is open, at the end of an open staircase from the first floor. With doors on the first floor bedrooms and on the dining area, very little noise got upstairs. Three good size bathrooms, 2 with tubs, meant no lines, no wait! Also, as other reviewers noted, a well-stocked newish kitchen with a nice gas stove. Washer and dryer are right in the kitchen, another nice feature. Also, we appreciated Lamoine, too. We spent much of our time in Acadia, and it is a bit of a drive, but it is also nice to leave the hustle and bustle of the Park and Bar Harbor. Anything lacking? No (well, maybe an apron for the chief cook and bottle washer...). Would we rent this house again? In a heartbeat!

We love the charm of an old home and this one was a gem. The house was big enough for all six of us and more. It was within 25 minutes of everything and Lamoine Beach was only minutes by car, perfect location. Thanks Ray!

We just came home from a week long stay at the farmhouse and have to say it was very relaxing .The home has a rustic, quirky charm with all of the little "gnome" doors and secret passage to the twin bedroom on the second floor. The furnishings are simple but the kitchen and two of the bathrooms are completely remodeled. We cooked dinner at the farmhouse a few nights and the kitchen is well stocked. The only thing that was missing were wine glasses. I mentioned this to the owner Ray and the next day a bag full of 12 wine glasses appeared at the front door. I would definitely recommend this home for an authentic Maine stay, in fact we enjoyed our time there so much that we are returning at the end of next month for another week.
Lamoine State Park ( beautiful sunsets) and Lamoine Beach are less than a 5 minute drive, we also found Blunts Pond, just around the corner to cool off in. Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park is 20 minutes away and Ellsworth is a 10 minute drive. Seal Cove Farm, which is a goat farm in Lamoine and has excellent goat cheeses and terrific pizza.

We have rented several houses on VRBO/HomeAway and this was our best experience ever! The house has lots of character with all the modern amenities you could ask for. Fully equipped kitchen, very clean. 3 full bathrooms that made it easy for all of us to feel comfortable. Convenient to Acadia National Park, the Schoodic Penninsula(highly recommend) and Ellsworth which is cute town with history and all the shopping you might need. We cooked lobsters and sat by the campfire and reading in the little yellow room is quite relaxing as well. Loved this place and can't say enough good things about it! We all had the best nights sleep here as it's quiet and the beds are comfortable. We can't wait to return and wish we didn't have to leave!!!!

Family of 6, 2 grandparents, 2 grandchildren, 2 parents. We totally loved our stay at the Farmhouse! 3 full baths, modern kitchen, washer, dryer, and plenty of space were just what we needed. Easy to watch movies, play games, prepare and eat meals. Attentive and caring owner answered any questions we had. Convenient location to Bangor, Ellsworth, MDI, yet not on a busy highway. We loved it!
