This was our first trip to Acadia and we had the best time taking day trips as it was central to everything we wanted to see. But the best part was coming home to this little slice of heaven. So peaceful and picturesque. Thank you for letting us stay.

Great place to get away and rewind. House is very clean, full of charm and spacious. Views are surreal. Pictures don't do it justice. Location was great. Peaceful, away from summer crowds yet close to multiple attractions (MDI, Acadia, Southwest Harbor, Schoodic). Fabulous hosts! Laura and Robert truely care about their guests. They are very responsive to text messages and provided tons of information about local attractions and restaurants (our favorites Red Sky, Beals Lobster Pier and Mortons Moo Ice Cream). This is one of the best VRBO homes that we have stayed at. Beautiful views, cozy house, solitude, great hosts!

I can not say enough how wonderful our stay was at Camp Beau Sejour! The pictures on the website are wonderful, but they don’t do the real life cottage justice. It was spectacular, and away from the crowds at MDI
Laura responded immediately to any questions we had preparing for our trip, and was as warm and caring as an old friend. She took care of so many details in the cottage, and we could want for nothing. The flowers outside were beautiful and so were the fresh cut flowers inside. The music playing when we came in was calming, and our furry family enjoyed the fresh water that she provided upon their arrival. We could have spent a full day enjoying the antiques, pictures, and crafts in the home. The house was spotless and the views couldn’t be beat. Laura, thank you for your hospitality and sharing your cottage home with us.

Beau Se Jour is a special place. The pictures can’t do it justice. It’s very spacious and well stocked. Truly the quintessential Maine cottage. Worth every penny. Laura is a fabulous host who truly cares that you have a wonderful stay. My only advice is you will need to book this one early to get it, and you be glad you did! I’d give it 20 stars if I could.

The weather wasn't the best for this week but if you had to have rainy weather, I can't imagine a better spot to be at. The house is well appointed with comfortable beds and beautifully decorated in a coastal theme. The view from the main bedroom upstairs is breathtaking in the morning, you do not have to get out of bed to enjoy it. It's equally dramatic on the first level and there are plenty of spots in the house to sit and read and still enjoy the view of the water. The screened in area would be a huge bonus when the bugs are out, fortunately the rain and cool temperatures kept them at bay for our visit. The waterfront/beach area can be accessed by a long set of stairs down to the water. It is very private and while there are a few neighbors, you don't really see the homes through the foliage. It really is a beautiful location.

Although our trip was cut short, we had an amazing stay at Beau Se Jour. This is the quintessential Maine cottage, full of character and surrounded by natural beauty. We couldn't have picked a better vacation home. The views are surreal and the solitude is priceless. If you need to disconnect, this is your spot.
Our host Laura was on point. Everything was carefully orchestrated and planned right down to the beautiful soft music left playing for us as we entered the cottage. It really set the vibe.
We were delayed and arrived much later in the evening than originally planned. Laura stayed in touch to make sure we would have no trouble finding the place as we would be arriving after dark. The weather had turned pretty chilly that evening as well. With these things in mind, she thoughtfully made a trip to the cottage to turn the lights and heat on for us. It was so incredibly thoughtful and appreciated after a long drive.
She even checked in with us to make sure we made it back home safely. These are the small touches that go a long way with me.
The communication was excellent and it's apparent how much time, thought, and preparation Laura puts into each visit. We wanted for nothing. If we ever get the opportunity to return, we will definitely be staying with her again.
Thanks Laura!
Much appreciation!

Laura’s property was lovely! Laura is also very lovely herself. She was very attentive, helpful, and just genuinely wanted to make sure we were having a good time. The home was very well kept and cozy. The views from the property were surreal. We woke up every morning to watch the sunrise. We enjoyed taking walks from the property at low tide and also rented some kayaks that were delivered right to the property. Laura’s place is about 30-40 minutes from Bar Harbor and most Acadia hikes, but this is exactly what we wanted (as we find Bar Harbor a little too busy and tourist-trappy). There are a few quaint, but excellent restaurants nearby (Provender in Ellsworth and Ironbound in Hancock were our favorites). You are also not far from the Schoodic peninsula hikes, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We hope to revisit Laura’s place again soon!

Most memorable trip
Beau se jour was comfortable, well appointed and clean. It has beautiful views in every room and screened seating, outdoor seating and indoor seating to enjoy these views. It is private yet also conveniently located to Bar harbor and Acadia national park. Laura was so helpful and responsive to any tourist questions we texted her. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Spectacular Stupendous Outstanding Gorgeous Fabuloso
Magnificent Superbly appointed, extremely well provisioned with all of the necessary items for an outstanding stay. And extra items that could be necessary. Laura thought of everything. Our entire family enjoyed the celebration and my husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet for a day and the great beds and peaceful sleeps to wake to a beautiful view and the Full moon and the stars in the sky though the panoramic windows and skylights.
Thank you for everything
We look forward to coming again and also enjoying the house in little Gasparilla Island Florida in November.

A Perfect Week at Beau Se Jour Cottage
Where to begin describing how wonderful our stay was at Beau Se Jour Cottage? Mornings sitting by the fire having coffee, brilliant sunrises to wake up to or quiet evenings with a glass of wine on the porch. All of these include incredible views of Eastern Bay and Cadillac Mountain. Those memories would be a great start!
The cottage is warm, eclectic, bright and oh-so cool comfortable. I We had to pull ourselves away each day to explore the area! The location is so convenient to so many wonderful sites, that every day we explored a different direction.
Acadia to Blue Hill, Schoodic Point to the Bass Head Lighthouse, Gouldsboro to Brooklin…all were in easy drives from the cottage. Discovered new and amazing places each day, but made sure we were back at our favorite home to enjoy its views and amenities!
Many thanks to Laura and Robert for making their jewel of a home available to us! It was such a pleasure to meet them in person and hear the love for their place! We hope to be back again soon!

Beautiful, Tranquil location on Frenchman's Bay
A Wonderful Cottage that is secluded from the crowds of Bar Harbor And located perfectly between Acadia National Park and the Schoodic Pennisula. A great place to decompress and enjoy the Cottage( decorated so beautifully ) or relax outdoors . The host is terrific to work with and gives you wonderful suggestions of places to visit or Restaurants to dine at. The best VRBO we've ever stayed at. 5 STARS!!!

Fabulous Cottage
We stayed a week to tour Acadia National Park, relax and enjoy Maine. This wonderful cottage on the shore of the Atlantic did that perfectly. We enjoyed watching the tide come in and out right in front of us. Can't say enough about our pleasant stay.

Peaceful and Beautiful Location
Beau Se Jour was a wonderful spot. Honestly, it was even better than the pictures. The view from the house is just magnificent. We took advantage of the waterfront location and kayaked right from the house. Our golden retriever loved walking on the shoreline during low tide. There were so many locations in the cottage to relax and unwind. My personal favorite was the screened in porch. I loved the decor and enjoyed reading all the literature about Maine in the cottage. The area is great as well. We did a lot at the Acadia (biking and hiking) and also visited the Schoodic Peninsula. We also ate twice in Southwest Harbor. We took a schooner sunset sail and visited Bar Harbor a few times (our teen daughters loved that). If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful spot, this is the place for you!

The Best Cottage
We visited for the second time and loved it just as much as the first time. Best views of Berry Cove with Cadillac Mountain in the background. Quiet and private this cottage is the perfect getaway yet close to all that the Bar Harbor-Acadia National Park area has to offer. Don't forget to visit the town of Ellsworth too.

Beau Se Jour
My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. The views were spectacular, the house was cozy, and the hikes we went on had some of the best views we’ve ever seen. Laura was very responsive, and made sure that we had a pleasant stay. We would love to return again.

Beau Se Jour is the quintessential seaside cottage. The property is private yet located minutes away from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The cottage is well appointed, and the owner's careful touch is in every corner. Sip hot coffee and watch the sun rise over beautiful Frenchman's Bay. You'll be so glad you did.

Everything really did exceed our expectations. Just a beautiful and perfect location in a gorgeous, well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated cottage. We really liked that the grocery stores, restaurants and Acadia/Bar Harbor were so close, yet at the house we were very isolated. You have a wonderful view across the cove and Mt Desert Narrows from every window with Cadillac Mountain being the center piece. There is wildlife all around, from deer and turkeys to loons and bald eagles. We enjoyed many walks along the shoreline at low tide, witnessing many species of shore birds. We even saw seals with the binoculars! The weather was a little crazy, but we got to kayak a few times. If you are able, renting kayaks is highly recommended to add to your adventure, and another great way to experience the beautiful area. The views are spectacular. In the evening, pull up an Adirondack chair and gaze across the calm waters and up at the stars on a dark clear night. We got to see the October full moon rise, the car lights on Cadillac MT, and a few sunrises.Highly recommended.

The Maine Experience
The house was perfect in every way....like stepping back in time. The furnishings and whole aura are of a grander period of life...just beautiful.
The view of Frenchmans Bay from every window are calming and serene as the tide drops and rises twice a day.
We headed out on an adventure in Acadia National Park every day which is about a half hour away. We did it all but wers always happy to head back to the quiet and solitude of our rental house.

We had an incredible at Laura's property. The property is quaint and quiet. The views overlooking the bay are magical. Laura was extremely responsive and made sure that we had everything that we needed preparing for our trip and while we were there. Can't wait to return!

Amazing vacation spot!
This is a beautiful home with a property overlooking a bay and a stair down to a private beach. We had kayaks delivered to the house and frequently swam in the bay. There was also a lovely freshwater pond within biking distance, and a state beach just a little bit beyond that. The house has everything that is needed - no need to bring supplies. We particularly loved the grill and the supplies for preparing and eating lobsters at home. As for getting to Acadia/Bar Harbor, this is a rather short drive away. We went to both regularly. For those looking for a quiet vacation spot that is perfect for social distancing, this is the perfect spot!

Absolutely perfect
Our family had an amazing time at this property! From the moment we arrived until the moment we had to leave at the end of the week, it was truly perfect.
The kitchen was wonderfully stocked, not only with cooking utensils, but also spices, paper goods, etc. Every room in the house, with the exception of the 2 bathrooms, had a spectacular view of the water. When we weren't hiking some of the nearby trails of Acadia, we were either kayaking (rented 2 for the week, which were delivered to the beach below us,) or just enjoying the beauty of this home. We spent many moments on the screened in porch, and also on a few chilly evenings and mornings enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace. The beds were comfortable, I could go on and on.
Laura was always so prompt and helpful with any questions we had, and left many ideas of things for us to do during our stay as well. The house was immaculate, the area incredibly peaceful and private. We just can't say enough! Already we are talking of the possibility of coming back next year. It was just an incredible week! I can't recommend this lovely home enough. Thanks so much Laura for allowing our family to stay!

Spectacular Week In Maine
This was our first time using VRBO and we could not have been more pleased. Laura was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. The cottage and its location are exquisite. The cottage is tucked away in the woods with a peaceful and beautiful view of the water and at the same time you are approximately 15 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants. We are glad we decided to stay here and not in Bar Harbor. My husband, our friend and our dog enjoyed our first visit to Arcadia National Park. After our second day we were already making plans to return next year. Thank you Laura and Robert for a memorable anniversary week adventure.

Peaceful and lovely
This cottage was just lovely from the moment we pulled in. The view is so peaceful and all the little quaint and special touches made it feel like home away from home. The cottage was very clean and well stocked and they also provided so much information for the area with things to do and places to visit which were so helpful. Laura was so kind and helpful with any questions and very quick to respond. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Perfect quiet escape
This cottage was perfect for our family of 4. The location is very private with amazing views of the bay and mountains. The property was stocked with everything you need - definitely message the owner or take inventory before buying anything. It's an easy drive to Acadia and the Schoodic peninsula. We also spent a day at Lamoine beach and the cottage because it was so peaceful.

Perfect Maine Cottage
The beauty of this property cannot be captured in photos. It is a truly special place and perfect for unwinding and relaxing. Our children loved exploring the private beach and kayaking in the cove. The location is a great home base for touring Acadia National Park and the Schoodic Peninsula. We could have easily stayed more than a week! The house itself is so charming and comfortable. It is evident that a great deal of care has gone into decorating and maintaining it. It was also the most well stocked rental property we have ever stayed in - there wasn’t a single thing they hadn’t thought of from paper products to brochures and information on the surrounding area. Laura is a fabulous hostess from start to finish. It is simply an amazing place. Thank you!
