About this house rental
**Most weekends have at least a 3-night minimum. And I generally don't start or stop rerservations on Saturdays. Please send an inquiry before requesting to book**
**8 adult guests are my capacity by law and I cannot make exceptions. I don't allow bachelor or bachelorette weekends or any similar type get togethers, or any party weekends or parties**
The authentically restored beautiful historic home will allow you to live like a local in the center of the historic district of Savannah, steps from all the sights.
Built in 1866 as part of the Ruckert Row on Jones Street, considered by most to be the prettiest street in the South. A two-story, 3 Bedroom (convertible to 4BR with a murphy bed in the den) / 3 Bath home with a remodeled kitchen.
Original heart pine floors, exposed brick, ten-foot ceilings, four non-working original fireplaces, authentic Victorian furniture and decor, gas lamps, a peaceful courtyard, and all the modern amenities which allow you to relax in the charm of the 'Hostess City."
The open double parlor (living room and dining room) is a perfect place to relax in the comfortable leather couches or to eat your home-cooked meal. Off the remodeled kitchen there is a cozy den which can be converted into a 4th bedroom with its Murphy Bed. The tranquil courtyard is recently rebuilt and landscaped, giving shade in the summer, and full of sun during the winter, where you can enjoy your morning coffee, eat a meal, or just take things slow like a local, sipping on your favorite drinks. The back bedroom has a balcony on the second floor, great for sunning, overlooking the courtyard (and the St. Paddy's Day Parade route).
Two of the full bathrooms are upstairs: The master bath has a shower and the other, which is shared between the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, has a shower/tub. The third full bathroom is downstairs and has a tub with a handheld showerhead.
Check-in is after 4 pm and Check-out is before 12 pm. These times are usually firm but occasionally could possibly be flexible if the calendar is not full before and/or after your stay, but you must check with me and get approval before.
You will have full access to the entire house, courtyard, and private driveway with parking for two vehicles.
**Instructions for entry to the house will be unlocked after you book beginning three days prior to your stay on the website and the app under My Trips. You will also receive a Welcome Guide email 3 days prior to your stay with the information**
I will allow pets on a case by case basis, but there will be an extra fee (usually $100 but depends on the situation/number and size of pets/etc. You must coordinate with me ahead of time and get permission.
**I have a strict cancellation policy, so it might be desirable for you to purchase trip cancellation insurance in case you have an emergency arise. Allianz and CSA are some of the big companies, but there are many options**
I ask if you are staying for longer than a weekend, that you do me a favor and make sure the plants inside don't get too thirsty.
I have a landscaper named Belvin, middle-aged and missing a few teeth and walks with a limp, a very nice guy. You may see him working out front, or possibly watering plants in the back which he does a few times during the week in the mornings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, historic home in Savannah! The home is located in a very nice area and is walkable to many attractions. Everything was as described or better! One of our days overlapped with the arrival of tropical storm Debbie. We were so fortunate to have this incredible place to stay and ride out the storm. Powell is a wonderful host and was checking in with us throughout. Our group of 6 absolutely loved this place and highly recommend it. We will stay again.
Thanks Powell!

We would definitely stay again. The house is in a great historical section of Savannah that was also peaceful. The living spaces and bedrooms were super comfortable. Most of all, the host stayed in excellent touch with us (we arrived during a tropical storm) and was responsive to our shifts in travel times.

Had a short visit to Savannah, but we loved this property! House was very well kept and the beds were super comfortable! Check-in & out were easy! Great experience! Since we have teenagers, we would have preferred more TVs to avoid the bickering over who wants to watch what, but that’s just because we’re a tech-heavy family lol
Would definitely recommend this home to anyone! Thank you!

We had a great vacation in Savannah. The location of the property was central to all of our activities, comfortable for a party of five and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Four "mature" girlfriends, still very young at heart, realized their dreams of exploring Savannah at their leisure! This historic townhome was such a pleasure to settle into after a day of sightseeing! It combined the warmth & intrigue of bygone days with all the modern conveniences we preferred to keep us comfortable. We all loved the reflection from the mirror hanging on the door of the middle bedroom upstairs! Having our own parking spot in the back was a lifesaver. Powell, the host, is warm, witty & a talented writer! Be sure to read the guidebook for the VRBO. Give yourself a treat & stay here on Jones Street! You won't be disappointed! Teresa & friends!

This place was 110/100! The owner redid this beautiful , perfectly located home with obvious love for detail!! I was sad we only did one night as we didn't have more time. For us, this place was perfect and had Everything we needed! The courtyard is amazing. Walk to everything!! Smack dab in the middle of the historic district. Even had private off-street parking. Decks to sit out on upstairs. 3 bedrooms with 2 baths ensuite. Comfy beds, linens, and towels. And to top it off, we had breakfast at Clarys Cafe, literally next door!! Like 30 ft away. The breakfast is amazing. I had crab cakes Benedict!! If you go, be patient, they move people through very quickly. Tell Ms Moe, Barry says hello. Wonderful server. We will 100% be back to this place! Please be careful with the house and the items in it. It is a private home after all, with some great art and curios. I have stayed in a few VRBOs, but this one topped them all! My Mum from Canada was visiting Savannah first time and absolutely loved. So mum approved !!

First time in Savannah, won’t be the last. Jones street has been called the most beautiful street in America and it’s amazing to live there for even a few days.
Clary’s Diner is literally attached to the townhouse so very convenient and very good breakfast and lunch. If it was good enough for Clint Eastwood then…..
We had a great stay,

The house is amazing and the location is perfect. It also has parking spots for two vehicles. You are in walking distance to all the action with a scenic view along the way. Great people and town is awesome. This property is well taken care of, along with a great host.

Our family had a great time in Savannah and the home is in a perfect location to explore the city by foot. Powell was a great host and everything was as listed.

Powell’s house was perfect in every way for us. We had 5 adults and 3 kids 7mo-4yrs and used all 3 bedrooms and the den with the Murphy bed. We were in Savannah for our daughter’s wedding and only 10 minutes from the venue and walking distance to some of the historic highlights. Unfortunately it rained pretty much every day but Saturday and Sunday so our none wedding activities were not what we had hoped for. Having said that if you get the opportunity to visit Savannah we would highly recommend this house. Powell has a unique collection of items throughout his home from his travels and it is tastefully and comfortably decorated and furnished….and oh my goodness the BEDS!!! Almost too comfy! 😉

The absolute best location for visiting Savannah! Easy walking distance to anywhere you’d want to go! Plus, it’s right next door to an awesome breakfast spot, Clary’s! The house was beautifully restored and very comfortable to stay in.

We felt like this was our second home and look forward to another visit! Its location is only blocks away from a number of historical sites of Savannah. Any number of shops and restaurants and Savannah's River Walk are within walking distance. The home itself worked great for our group of seven. We only drove once during our stay to see the Bonaventure Cementery and visit Tybee Island (we ate at the Crab Shack).

This house is great, and it’s right next to Clary’s, in a really charming neighborhood! Powell was very helpful in recommending places to eat, and with answering questions. The beds were clean and comfortable, as was the house. We were able to walk to some great spots and then come home to cool off and relax.
