I asked for a double bed to accommodate myself and my staff there was only a single bed so I had to find another hotel

Ants everywhere!! Was never given my room number had to guess.

The bed was so comfortable. Great sleep, great space and great location. No issues checking in or out.
9.0
Location is perfect. Near bars, restaurants, nice shops but tucked away, thus very quiet.
Curtains do not cover whole window and impersonal, everything is done with codes and they give you a phone number in case you need it

The area and location was good. The bed was comfortable.
I’m not sure if this is good or not. I asked for an early check-in. When I couldn’t open the message I called. John, who is the only staff there is, was great.
*No parking
*The dirty, winding, STEEP stairs to get to your room.
* when I contacted John, the only staff member, he gave me a code to get in my room, which was totally different than what Booking.com gave me. So if I hadn’t needed to check on the arrival, I wouldn’t have been able to get in my room or the building.
*no tv
*bathroom door doesn’t shut

We loved the room in its entirety.
The stair climb to get in the room was very steep and narrow. A television would have been nice.

Ruby room is in an excellent location and sightly cheaper than other options around wicker park.
The staff are prompt and excellent displaying a high level of attentiveness.
The room is clean and functional, the shower takes a little bit to heat up, but is fine once up to temperature.
My room was small than I expected and the kitchen nook is shared. There are no cups in the room when you get there so you must get them from the shared kitchen. Additionally, no decaf coffee was provided.

proximity to everything we needed to do .
the Stairs and the shower, steam shower was broken and the hot water and pressure where barely there.

very little hot water.

the ad said gym but there was none.

Parking, LOTS of narrow steep stairs

The location was great! Would definitely come here again, only if it was summer or warmer weather
I read the reviews how cold it can get so i took the liberty to bring a big warm blanket for the winter.

Everything was awesome 👌
Walking up to 4th floor with all my stuff, absence of elevator...
But, that's because building is pretty old 🤷♂️

Good Location with Free parking available on streets nearby. Clean and modernized bathroom. Common Kitchen was a good bonus to use.
Room should be insulated a little better and the bathroom door fixed - it would take a really big effort to close it. The matrass wasn't the most comfortable either.

I didn’t know there was breakfast. I liked the overall room.
You might want to know there is a leak in the sink faucet in room 3B when the water is turned on cold.

Steep stairs 2 flights, no lift, no personnel, no front desk, no assistance, no signage to mark entrance. Hall and staircase carpet was worn and filthy. No TV in room. Furniture was second hand.

The furnishings, fixtures and decorating are not cookie cutter and expressed a desire to provide something unique. Then there's the location, which couldn't be better for Wicker Park. We had a maintenance issue when we checked in and it was addressed immediately. Generally, special shout out to housekeeper who was very pleasant, prompt and helpful
I have only myself to blame for this because I knew this in advance, but walking up and down to/from the 3rd floor during a 6-day stay for two seniors became a bit much. Help with luggage was provided without hesitation (that houekeeper, again!!). The steam shower is a nice addition, but it and the hot water were a bit inconsistent

Location was perfect for why we were there. Close to many fine eateries.
We were not able to get into Chicago from Texas and had to leave room empty one night. Not hotel fault but an unfortunate issue.

The location was perfect. Having access to a community kitchen was helpful, we made coffee and breakfast most mornings and used the fridge. It was very easy to find and check in and out from. The bed was very comfortable and the room stayed very cool during the day when it was very warm outside. Also we really enjoyed the foot massager, especially at the end of the day when our feet hurt the most.
The lights in the hallway and in the stairs were off for the first two days of our stay. We used a phone flashlight which worked but got difficult when we had to carry a lot. They got turned on our last day so maybe something got fixed. Also our bathroom door didn’t close all the way, it kept getting stuck on the ground somehow. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, only the light that came with the fan which was fine until one of us used the bathroom when we were sleeping and it was very loud. Also having no closet was not ideal but we made it work with the coat hooks. The WiFi also didn’t work for half our stay. Either things loaded very slowly or not at all.

Never received the key to get in the room. I contacted staff and no response from anyone. I want my money back.

Location was great, extremely comfortable bed
Getting into the room was stressful. We weren’t aware there wouldn’t be a lobby, retrieving the keys was confusing and made us feel a bit worried about security. We were able to get into a room that wasn’t ours and then had to wait around for 10-15 mins for the innkeeper to let us in even though she was on site. It was just kind of weird.
8.0
Location stellar; access exactly as advertised; room was comfortable and well equipped
No lobby, the shared kitchen was a bit shabby; the only common social space was outdoors and unusable in bad weather
4.0
The bed was comfortable and the room was cute.
There was a loud party in the room next to mine that went until around 2am. Being a spa/wellness place, this was baffling to me as it was treated more like a hostel. I called the 'emergency number' for the Ruby Room twice and didn't get an answer. I was texted the next morning apologizing and offered a late checkout but that didn't really fix the situation.
